This is a service that Gearbox uses specifically for handing out extras to its players. After linking your account (for 360, you register online and then enter your data into the Extras > Shift menu), you get 2 more keys automatically!
For even more fun, follow Randy Pitchford, a Gearbox lead, on Twitter, at http://twitter.com/duvalmagic! Every so often, he gives out SHIFT codes that are good for several hours. On pricing your artwork and creating a career...I am going to be speaking at an "Entrepreneurship In The Arts" program later today, and I've been organizing my thoughts. One subject that is certain to come up; "how do you arrive at a fair price for your original artwork?" I have some definite ideas regarding that question. On pricing your artwork and creating a career...2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I was always told that the accepted model for artists and artisans, when it comes to pricing, was double your costs for materials, figure out an hourly price (double that for your retail price if you plan to have wholesale/retail differentials), add it up and there's your item price. I think this model is pure bullshit.
I was also told "charge what the market will bear!" Again, vague bullshit. What if you live in a depressed area? What if you live in a third world country? What if you're at some artist's ally at a little convention and there is a kid sitting next to you selling her character sketches for $5 each?
Here is what I think. There are so many variables when it comes to pricing original art. Yo

Cosplay really does bring people together.
" Two weeks ago somewhere in Boston, a young lady was telling her mom how much she wanted to meet the Tux Team since they were spending a week or two in Manila visiting relatives. The mom replies, " There are about 80 million Filipinos, the chances of you meeting your cosplay idols are ZERO." The little miss figured her mom might be right but was still hopeful. As the days passed in Manila, the young lady didn't know that something wonderful was just around the corner... "

I was very happy to visit AKUMAKON in Galway (Ireland) in January. Together with Elffi I went to Ireland for my first time ^.^~
I brought two costumes to the con: ALTER SABER and FRANZISKA VON KARMA ....
Let's begin with Saturday !
Saturday was a really nice day. I wore my Franziska von Karma together with Elffi as Godot.
We had a little booth were we could sell our prints. We were really surprised how open and kind the Irish people were. We could find new friends very fast and had fun to talk with everybody at the booth for a long time .
DON'T GO TO ART SCHOOL- By Noah BradleyDon't go to art schoolDON'T GO TO ART SCHOOL- By Noah Bradley2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The traditional approach is failing us. It's time for a change.
I'VE HAD IT.
I will no longer encourage aspiring artists to attend art school. I just won't do it. Unless you're given a full ride scholarship (or have parents with money to burn), attending art school is a waste of your money.
I have a diploma from the best public art school in the nation. Prior to that I attended the best private art school in the nation. I'm not some flaky, disgruntled art graduate, either. I have a quite successful career, thankyouverymuch.
But I am saddened and ashamed at art schools and their blatant exploitation of students. Graduates are woefully ill-prepared for the realities of being professional artists and racked with obscene amounts of debt. By their own estimation, the cost of a four year education at RISD is $245,816. As way

Believe in Yourself. Nobody Else Will. This last 6 months saw the turn around of all the people in my life (as in everyone) asking me to quit art and focus on something else. I no longer receive constant suggestions of other careers that I should pursue. I'm sure many of you have had awkward conversations with strangers or elderly people about your desire to become an artist. I had one today (she told me art was not a feasible career). Only now my belief in myself is at 100% so that person walked away believing in me as well.Believe in Yourself. Nobody Else Will.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I could go on about my personal journey and about how butthurt I was that people weren't acknowledging the work that I was doing; the sacrifice that I was making, but most of you can relate as well. I actually developed quite an ego. A feeling that I was better than all of them, and that they were just ignorant assholes. Was that productive? I'm not sure. Would it be productive now that I'm entering galleries and doing shows (schedule coming soon)? FUCK NO!
Ultimately one of the best things I heard as

Korra finaleSo I know this is probably the unpopular opinion overall, but was anyone else upset over how they chose to end season 1 of Korra? This journal does contain spoilers so if you haven't seen it, leave now.Korra finale3 years ago in Personal More Like This
So there were several things that really bugged me.
1. Korra unlocking her airbending abilities actually didn't bug me at all. What did bug me is how novice airbending defeated Amon. He's an accomplished bloodbender and skilled bender overall. I mean... what the hell?
2. They never even bothered explaining how Amon and his brother were able to bloodbend without a full moon. If you're going to throw something that huge into the story, at least explain it.
3. Amon's character was completely undermined in this episode. Both politically and ethically. I found his stance on bending fascinating throughout the whole series and then it's revealed that he's just a hypocrite? And absolutely no reason as to why he's trying to take everyone else's bending when he's a bender himself? Huh?
4. And thi

For the lazy yet still curious folks: I auditioned from my home in southern California, they liked what I got (I was choking on stuff all day out of surprise when I was told that I was cast), and I drove out to record the real thing in the studio, where I got directed to scream, attack, and meow all over the place. Meowing was of course our favorite parts of the session and I hope to record more for her soon!
If you've read some of my older Newgrounds blog posts, you'll know VERY well how much of a fan I am of Alex Ahad (:iconoh8's work (long before Skullgirls got under the gaming radar), so I'm REALLY happy to finally work with him on something! I'm also happy

The man played a whole range of characters, from Smee (Hook) to Khrushchev (Enemy at the Gates) but he'll probably be remembered (and envied by those of us with a looser grip on reality) for his role as Eddie Valiant, the LA gumshoe from Who Framed Roger Rabbit whom the badly-drawn Jessica bounced off, slunk around and serenaded.
For that, I think we'll all forgive him for Mario Bros.

It's been a while since I last checked in. In fact, it's been so long that I just realised I never posted the cosplay interview I did here (and that was in January!). Japan Cinema invited me to chat to them for a while for their cosplay corner - if you're interested, you can read about it over here.
In other news, I have finally gotten around to doing a photoshoot for Rapunzel! Thank you so much to :iconstrawdoll: for being such an amazing photographer...you're so nice to me :'D And so, since I'm about to attack you all with photos, I figured it would be a great time to finally, finally post the FAQ I've been promising for her wig. As it gets completed we will be posting the process of how this script becomes a Motion Book, and goes to print! So if you're interesting in the process stay tuned!
I've been asked a couple of questions about designing comics with the 'motion book' mentality in mind. Because motion books are dynamic and not static, you can create stories in a format that incorporates a motion book foundation. Where traditional comics deal with page layout, motion books deal with how that layout flows and evolves over time (Treatment: Tokyo is a great example of this).
I have an animation background, so the writing I've done in the past reflects this. Below is a script for a property I'm developing that I wrote as a motion book- so the format is taking into account how it would be interpreted at the art stage and motion book creation stage (and for that reason the format sort of bridges the 'animation/cinema'
