Blog of 2012Happy new year or whatever!Blog of 20122 years ago in Personal More Like This
As I usually do, I'm gonna have a look through my old journals and list the highlights of the year for me:
• I became a political activist for a few months, and went to some anti ACTA protests! Not many people showed up in Scotland though. I've kinda lost interest in all of that stuff now, since I'm not a student anymore.
• Went to see Dropkick Murphys. I should go to more gigs.
• Got interested in upcoming technologies like 3D printing, synthetic biology, Mars missions etc, and the idea of a technological Singularity. Still reading a lot of popular science books.
• Some notable games I've played this year: Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Zelda: Minish Cap, Rayman Origins, Fez, Dodonpachi Resurrection, Torchlight, Titan Quest, Kirby: Knightmare in Dreamland, Magicka, World of Goo, Binding of Isaac, Terraria, a ton of Minecraft, and probably a bunch of others which I forgot.
• Graduated from University with an Honors in Computing Science! My f

The Call of Cthulhu (for beginning readers)Howdy friends,The Call of Cthulhu (for beginning readers)1 year ago in Personal More Like This
There has been an exciting development!
A couple of months ago, the folks at Chaosium Inc. [ http://www.chaosium.com/ ], the publishers of the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game, confirmed their desire to publish The Call of Cthulhu (for beginning readers). When I received word I immediately began revising the now almost two-year-old text and illustrations to ensure that the print version is of the highest possible quality. I am currently about a third of the way through this process, and thought it would be good time to let you all know that the oft-requested dead tree edition of this story looks like it is actually becoming a reality.
I continue to be grateful for the encouragement of the folks around here, and I look forward to updating you all with any further news as it arrives.
In the meantime, I'm posting up the pages of The Statement of Randolph Carter (for beginning readers) I was working on when the word came through from Ch

I ask that all my commissioners read this and agree with my terms before commissioning me.
These are the starting prices with examples of each different type of commission. If your commission is larger and more complex, it will cost more; likewise, if it is very small and considerably simpler than the examples I show here I will work with you to price it lower than the stated price.
To have a background added or have your art done on special patterned paper costs extra. Please let me know if you need either of these things done and I will arrange it with you.
Pencil Sketch, one character: $20, each additional character in the same picture, only $7 - Examples:

TransgenderSo ... yeah ... Finally ... Im here writting this <3Transgender2 years ago in Personal More Like This
First of all, I will explain a little all this .. whole process and how many times had thought of doing this ...
Before I birth, my father always wanted a boy in the family .. (at the end we were 3 girls) I been the first to born, so...my father had insisted on treating me like a boy, football ... cars ... I think the only Barbies I had were for my grandmother, even that I never got to play with them a while. Finally I grew up with these hobbies, especially football, and my behavior wasn't very feminine, in fact, I always was called "tomboy" and I ignored them...yes, I was in my "yupi" world you know x'D... and later it wasn't only football.. basketball too. I wasn't very good at school x'D
The fact is that at age 14, I lost my "father". Since I was little I was always very close to my grandparents and i live in his house since then, my parents and I have never been so close, my grandparents are my "parents" .. and .. when I lost

8 Lies Told by Climate Change Deniers Debunked by Real Climate Scientists
With the news that the west Antarctic ice sheet is not only melting, but that melting is unstoppable, the climate change deniers are out in full force on the forums and the comment threads, wheeling out tired lie after tired lie, and are bellowing louder and slowing progress even more in the halls of legislation. While these deniers have a number of fall back lies, there seems to be eight perennial lies that keep cropping up.
The earth stopped warming in the late 1990′s, global cooling, it’s the sun’s fault, and 5 other ridiculous lies about climate change… debunked!
A piece published on Moyers & Company recently took a look at eight of the more complex and scientific-sounding of a
Wtf?Man, I haven't even logged into this account in years now, I think, and I come on here and see that the strips are STILL getting comments and views? I am both shocked and amazed.Wtf?2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but I've been in a serious art funk and depression as of late. But seeing that people still seem to enjoy this comic, maybe I'll see if I can come up with anything good to make some kind of brief come back or something. I dunno. If I do anything it will very likely not have steady updates or anything like that. I guess we'll just have to see what happens.
Sorry once again for all of those who really enjoyed the strips and have been left out in the cold for these past few years.

i have seen in my life many artists who proclaimed they want to develop their skills, and kept bashing on everyone and everything on the way....and for some reason those guys never got anywhere...
here is why..
there is a value to different approaches, different styles. realism, manga , cartooney disney, my little pony, furries....don't waste your time tryint to bash any of the stuff you don't personally like
you are missing out, bigtime!
see there is a reason why that stuff is popular. and by that i mean on the visual side. so instead of flaming , trolling and bashing, try understanding the inner workings of it.
here are some specific examples
realism- it is a wonderfully complex base , reflects one's skill in capturing reality, but in it there are differences between photo referenced, real life work and no reference. ALL HAVE THEIR VALUE AND IMPORTANCE! from photos you can learn alot, gain analytic skills, develop an attention to
Double Tag!!!Hi Everyone!Double Tag!!!4 months ago in Personal More Like This
First thank you for all the birthday wishes!!! It was great to come on here and see all those and it really made my day! Thank you so much!!! (And I had a great day too and the cake was NOT a lie!!! ^^)
Anyhow I got tagged awhile back by :iconsnashyle:
I've been busy and haven't really had a moment to complete this until now.
So here it goes!
9.) Everyone that has been TAGGED must make a journal entry.
1.) You must post these rules
2.) Answer the ten questions the person who tagged you made and make up your own 10 questions for the people you tag to answer.
3.) Choose ten people and put their icons on this journal
Go to their pages and inform them that they have been TAGGED!We have MENTIONS for that!
5.) Not something stupid like 'you are tagged you read this.'
6.) You have to legitimately tag 10 people
7.) No tag-backs.
8.) Can't say, no tags
Did you visit other countries than the one you live in

The 101 Guide To Marketing For ArtistsSlowly I get to catch up with deviations on here, now I just need to make use of the journals more oftenThe 101 Guide To Marketing For Artists1 year ago in Personal More Like This
There are some things I would be glad, someone would have told me earlier...
Marketing is such a thing - since I´m freelancing 5 years now it is save to say that is no accident that I´m happily blessed with the "just right" clients and it all boils down to be due to authentic marketing. Honestly- I embrace everything that has to do with it, below you find my write up to get a better understanding of what it is all about.
I always found interest in psychology and marketing but when I jumped on the freelancing train 5 years ago I especially embraced anything that I could find to help me understand, use and practice marketing as a way to keep myself busy with work that I love to do and to collaborate with people who respect what I do.
In the process I learned much from many different experts and in this post I will forward what I´ve learn
Salem: My New-old CatSo Those of you who stop by my livestreams know this, but I have a cat. He is an orange Mackerel tabby, and he has a very interesting way he showed up.Salem: My New-old Cat1 year ago in Personal More Like This
So, it was New Years Eve, December 31, 2013 and I had my sparkling apple cider and was quite content to go to bed. It was about 12:40ish (now New Year's Day), and I remember because I had just talked to my brother over the phone wishing me a happy new year. He's out at Ft. Wheeler in Hawaii for military training and stuff.
Anyway, so I go to bed after that and I wake up about 2:55am hearing something. I know it was 2:50-something, my clock is analog, but glows in the dark and it's really easy to see. I saw that number and freaked, I can be superstitious, and with it being New Years, I was a little edgy. At first, I thought originally it was a baby crying. My neighbor has one and so I figured that's all it was. All the fireworks might have woken her up. I realized that, listening closer, it wasn't a baby, and wasn't coming from that dire
People wanting art for free - RantIt’s rant time again. Yay. I know I’ve talked about this topic in the past already but it’s still current for many artists, and I’d like to go into it a little further. That question which pretty much every artist knows only too well.People wanting art for free - Rant10 months ago in Personal More Like This
“Can you draw something for me? But I don’t have money.”
No matter how obvious you make it that you’re a professional artist, how eye-catching the commission pricelist on your user page is or how many “I don’t do requests / art-trades”-stamps you plaster all over your journal, people either don’t notice or simply don’t care. And their ways to persuade you to give them what they want get more creative and bold.
Classic approach :
A few sentences of praise and how much they adore your artwork and how much they’d love to have a picture from you. Sometimes they also mention that they don’t have money, which means they are aware of the
