New LifeI should have done this a long time ago...
Artemis jolted from her sleep as Wally's voice whispered around her. Frantically, she looked around, a flash of red and yellow assaulted her eyes, but she dismissed it quickly. Her mind was playing tricks on her. Wally was dead. Had been for months. Get your shit together, Crock. He's never coming back.
Shivers ran over her skin as she blinked back the tears. Closing her eyes against the images of him in his stealth mode costume as he swung her up in his arms and kissed her for the first time. Sobbing quietly to herself, Artemis mumbled, “No kidding...” before she drifted back into a Wally filled sleep.

As the sun came up, Artemis dragged her lazy ass out of bed. She had to go meet the rest of the team. She still had a role to play, maybe not as Artemis anymore, but as Tigress. It was still an important role anyway. Nightwing would be pissed if she showed up late again.
Even though he knew what she was going thro

“Ready or not, here we go.” Artemis pushed passed the acrobat and entered the room she hadn't dared entered since losing Wally.
As she stood in the middle of the room, amidst Wally and who he was as a person, as a hero, as a lover, as a friend, tears threatened her gray eyes. She could almost feel her boyfriend in the room, wrapping his arms around her body and rocking her against his chest. Unable to keep them away anymore, the traitorous tears rolled down her pale cheeks.
Dick was worried about her, but she cut him off. She wanted to enjoy this moment. To soak up Wally and his being. “I love you, too,” she whispered into the empty air as she closed her eyes against the onslaught of uncontrollable pain. Her body shook from the ferocity of the grief she was letting out. When she opened her eyes, she saw him again. Like she had this morning and both times this

“Artemis, just listen to me and what I have to say, okay?” Nightwing's usual calming voice did nothing to ease her frayed nerves, but she didn't stop him from talking and that was all he could ask for. “I went back to where the magnetic field disruptors were in the Arctic. At first I didn't find anything. For days I found nothing.” He sighed tiredly, running his hands through his longer hair. “I was there for almost two weeks, digging in the snow, talking to the natives there, searching for something. I had given up and was about to head home when I heard...” he stopped again and looked away, shaking his head. “You're not going to believe me if I tell

Green eyes looked around wildly as he took in the way the people all seemed to stare at him. He knew they wanted him to remember him, and he wanted to remember them as well. Hell, deep down, he knew who they were; he just didn't know how to convey it.
He swallowed back a growl of warning to the strangers and nodded slightly. “Artemis said you guys are my friends. That we're some kind of heroes and we're a team.” He looked up into gray eyes for approval and Artemis nodded, smiling.
He didn't know why, but that smile, made his heart skip and it warmed him. Wally he watched the way Artemis moved as she talked to the others about his situation. Zatanna swallowed hard, as though she was scared. “It's a spell. To defeat a demon.”
Artemis stared at her friend, she should be shocked; but when it came down to it, it would make sense if the magician knew exactly how to defeat a demon. A demon. That's what was after Wally and her? A goddamn demon?
“Why are you trying to invoke the three sisters? This is some serious shit you guys are messing with.” Zatanna still hadn't moved from her spot.
“Z, it's kinda complicated.” Dick scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, shining his cute chagrined grin at her.
“Don't you dare give me that bullshit, Grayson.” Anger fueling her, she sauntered over to Nightwing, poking him in the chest. “I dated you, remember? I know exactly how you work.” She sneered and turned toward Artemis. “Now. One of you needs to tell me what the hell is going on.”

So, come on, let's get him some balloons.” Artemis slipped past Megan and went to the front desk to ask someone for help. “I feel like we should maybe plan the party for a different day?” She asked over her shoulder in Miss M's general direction. “Having it tonight is kinda late notice, don't you think?” That, and Dick was supposed to come over so they could talk about the Wally situation.

She still couldn't believe that after everything that had gone through, everything they had done, Wally didn't know them- didn't know her anymore. They had to start all over. They had to teach him of his powers, how to fight, how to decipher between good evil, how to love... What if he didn't want her anymore? “This is going to crush Artemis. Again.”
At the sound of her name, she turned to her friends. She didn't know who spoke her name, but she looked up to see them all staring at her. “We'll figure something out, guys. I know we will. We have to.

I'm laying on the cold, hard floor of my prison.
The flames haven't heated the room yet.
I try to remember Artemis's dream.
But all I can remember is wanting to drink her blood and eat her flesh.
What the fuck?
I shake my head.
I don't bother looking around the room.
I know what will be there.
Black shadows along the walls.
Hisses from bleak corners unseen by me.

She smiled to herself as she set her picnic basket down. Supposed to be meeting a friend here, she sat down and waited patiently. She started humming to herself a sweet, sad ballad that had been stuck in her head for days now.
Lost in thought, she looked up, seeing a familiar shape coming up and smiled, "Oh, my God, it's you. I never thought I'd see you here!" She smiled as she spoke. It wasn't the friend she was expecting but it was a nice surprise.
Raising to her knees, she smiled again, "Looks like all is well, I see. I'm happy for you." She grinned and blushed, "Oh, me? Well, I'm not gonna lie."
And she wasn't. Lately, everything had been going perfect for her. Training had been going great. She was the top of her class now. She was on good terms with all of her friends. "I go

Then he turned to Damian, "Why don't you try to make some friends today instead of making them cry, little D."
He didn't look forward to another talk with Damian's principal.
Damian just grumbled.

Wally and Artemis :: The First TimeThe door creaked open and with another giant sob and the sound of a long breath being exhaled, she made her way through her apartment with slow, shaky steps. Almost as soon as her bed was in sight, the blonde woman launched herself at it and collapsed on top of it, her shoulders shuddering as she gripped the velvety soft, violet blanket that she was sprawled out upon. Even its warm caress wasn't enough to ease her pain. Heck, nothing would be. More tears streamed down her face, running over the same place they had been going over for the last hour. A small whine escaped from her parted lips, the sound smooth and uninterrupted until she ran out of breath. A sharp intake and she was at it again, sobbing once more. Her soft voice rang in his ears and he smiled, glancing down at the little four-year-old girl. She had honey-golden hair that would've reached her shoulder if it were not bound by two baby blue ribbons that bunched her hair together in two ponytails, one on each side of her head. Her eyes were aquamarine and had bright green flecks dotted along the iris, the same bright green as his own eyes. The pre-schooler's skin held fairness, pale but flushed with an adorable pink. She was about 3'6 in height, which was slightly taller than average for a girl her age, and her body was lean but not skinny. She wore a bright yellow dress that had little cartoon flowers and bees all over it and it stopped just above her knees. Around the waist of the dress was a lovely orange ribbon which was tied in a bow on the side. Wally woke up to the blaring alarm on his dresser across the room. 'Arty must've moved it over there,' He thought to himself. He knew when he fell asleep that it had been on his bedside table. But its proximity to him was what usually made him sleep another few hours instead of getting up on time. With the alarm all the way on the other side of the room he actually had to get up to turn it off.
He sighed to himself and sat on the edge of the bed for a while, the loud alarm still going in the back of his mind. It was going to be a long day, he just knew it.
Artemis rustled from her position on the other side of the bed from him. She cracked open her eyes to see Wally, for once, not moving. She sat up and extended a hand to his shoulder, making him jump slightly. It was her turn to sigh as she enveloped him in a hug.
With a quick peck on the cheek she jumped out of bed and turned off the alarm. "Come on Baywatch, you're the one with a morning class," Artemis urged

Damian sighted. Since it was only his third day of school he didn't have a project to work on so he probably would be stuck again with some stupid assignment of which he didn't see the point.
And indeed it didn't take Mr. William's long to come up to his table with a piece of paper in his hand.
"I have a different assignment for you, Damian."
Damian rolled his eyes, but Mr. William's just ignored it.
"I'd like you make a card for your father, since it's his birthday tomorrow.."
"Grayson's not my father!" Damian snapped, but instantly he regretted it. Dick had been more of a father to him lately, then anybody ever had.
"He's my brother, I guess." he added , his voice a little less sharp.
"Brother then. Here I have some pencils and a card for you. I would like to see it when you're done."

He held in his hands his Kid Flash costume. It almost felt heavy in his hands. Retiring had been his idea, and to do that he had to give up the costume and all that came with it. Artemis went along with it surprisingly well. She chose to keep one last costume of hers for memory’s sake though (maybe it would be used for late night patrols when she wanted to relax). Wally thought he should too, but that would go against his idea of retirement. It was a bit of a conundrum in the Crock-West household.
The ginger shook his head at the thought, trying to shake it out. No more arguments about hero stuff, that was the agreement. Only arguing about what they should have for dinner, or who was the better kisser. Wally was adamant that he was. Artemis
