I ask that all my commissioners read this and agree with my terms before commissioning me.
These are the starting prices with examples of each different type of commission. If your commission is larger and more complex, it will cost more; likewise, if it is very small and considerably simpler than the examples I show here I will work with you to price it lower than the stated price.
To have a background added or have your art done on special patterned paper costs extra. Please let me know if you need either of these things done and I will arrange it with you.

A little story...Wanted to share this story with you guys, and future creators:A little story...2 years ago in Personal More Like This
After getting out of a slump, I wanted to share this story of something I went through a few years back. Bit of a read, but thanks for sticking through it
As you know, Comic-Con is arriving and as I prepare for it, I grow more and more anticipated with anxiety/joy in regards to the re-release of Last Man Standing.
As long, challenging, and mind-opening the creation of LMS was, something really stuck with me.
Before I had created LMS, I wanted to work for WETA Workshop. To those that don't know them, they've created props, designs, sets, costumes, and more for The Lord of the Rings, Avatar, District-9, Elysium, The Hobbit and many more films.
I was obsessed and inspired with them. The creator, Richard Taylor was always a huge inspiration to me. After viewing supplements on the Extended Editions of The Lord of the Rings DVDS, I knew right there: I HAD TO WORK FOR THEM.
So I al
FAQ! Finally!Hello everybody!FAQ! Finally!4 years ago in Personal More Like This
I've been getting an increase in notes and messages lately asking all kinds of things. Problem is, I'm far from having the time to answer all these questions individually (even if I did have it it would probably make more sense to spend it drawing), but I don't want to leave them unanswered either since I appreciate everyone's feedback a lot. So I decided to make a kind of FAQ, since I'm mostly being asked the same things over and over.
I'll try to group these semantically so reading though them makes a bit of sense.
Did you ever do any tutorials?
- Yes, I spent a lot of time on this one:
There's a lot of explaining in there, so please before you ask anything technique or learning related, read it thoroughly first.
I also have a ton of step-by-steps in this folder here: http://algenpfleger.deviantart.com/gallery/8622578
And I also uploaded a ton of layered Photoshop files: http://algenpfleger.deviantart.com/gallery/28996547

My Thoughts on ImprovementI get a lot of questions on how to go about improving your drawing ability. I never really know how to answer them since every artist I've met seems to grow better under different conditions. For example, my friend :icondana-t: has completed over one hundred sketchbooks in the past four years. I've completed four in the same amount of time, but our trends of improvement are (kinda) similar because we learn in different ways.My Thoughts on Improvement2 years ago in Personal More Like This
One of the reasons I never end up making a tutorial is basically because I don't think they work. Plenty of people will disagree with me on this, but that's my honest opinion. There might be a lot of opinions I type out here you'll disagree with, so keep in mind these are just my views. Here are my general thoughts on how to improve.
Stop thinking about style. Style is something you will develop gradually after you've spent years emulating other styles, talking with other artists, observing the world, and pinpointing what looks best to you. Ev

THE NEXT THREE YEARS OF MY LIFE
I had received a job offer at Microsoft. I guess this could have been one of my first 'big time' jobs, so I was a little ecstatic. It felt like a slow build to get to this point, after numerous indie games and under the table freelance jobs, but finally it had come.
I was working with my now best friend and business partner, Stephan, a suave German who I had met only a year or so prior. He had brought me into the fray, working with several other individuals who will, well, simply be known as individuals for privacy sake.
But yes, finally, I could put a professional company I

I want you to help define Gabriel, the lead character, on his quest of revenge and help define whom he is as a hero (or anti-hero) and help customize his design throughout the story with me.
Also, there will be a second option, to create your own Bounty Hunter.

The Scottish Highlands
“Outlander” is a new cable series about a young woman who time travels from England at the end of WWII to 1743 Scotland, right before the Second Jacobite Uprising. The science fiction time travel and Scottish civil war themes are simply elaborate devices to justify the heroine engaging in a sizzling “bodice–ripper” romance. The location shoot in the lush eye–popping Scottish Highlands provides a beautiful backdrop for all the hot romance. Even if British reserve, Scottish resolve and cable sex aren’t your cup of tea, the amazing landscapes framing the tale are well worth your time.
Happy New YearLet's all start the year off with some stuff I wish I had growing up:Happy New Year2 years ago in Personal More Like This
So I read an article last night on people who are mentally strong and the DO NOTS of being that person.
I took those notes, and listed them, including how I learned to overcome these obstacles. It's a long read, sorry, but I figured this year it's time to open up and share that knowledge that I was once taught by someone I consider my mentor, business partner and bestfriend, Stephan.
1. Don't waste time feeling sorry for yourself - I used to feel this way as a kid. I was a child of divorce, and used it as a crutch when I was younger. I hate a (mentally) abusive step-mom who would constantly take me down. I began to feel that maybe it was true, and I wasn't going to be the person I wanted to be.
You can't think that way. No one likes or enjoys a Debbie Downer. Someone who is constantly on the negative or pining for sympathy. I began to overcome these complications with art or writing. Using tha

Sinister advertisingI actually trained in advertising prior to thinking "this is a terrible career choice" and going into the games industry, so I can almost always spot when I (or someone I know) is being played by marketing.Sinister advertising3 years ago in Personal More Like This
A relative got a message through the door over Christmas. It was an envelope containing what looked like a page torn out of a magazine. The recipient's name was hand-written on the page as part of a note, singing the praises of the product, how they had tried it, etc. The whole thing was a fake, a very, very clever one, perhaps obvious to the more media-savvy out there, but it caused said relative a bit of head-scratching.
A less obvious ad which has come to my attention is a viral video. It's a montage of CCTV footage that captures a number of people being nice to one another. Hugs, kisses, people helping one another. It'd be a great feel-good clip if it weren't for the fact it's a viral for Coke that plays on your emotions in an effort to peddle their sugar-laced-discharge: http:/

Fantastic Stock and Where to Find It - Feature 30Happy New Year To All.Fantastic Stock and Where to Find It - Feature 302 years ago in Art Features More Like This
I've been making a collection of some of the brilliant stock artists
works that I have come across. It started off as stock I can't provide
myself so I look for other peoples so I can suggest them. The way I
choose is quite odd, when I see a stock image I have an instant image in
my head of what I could do or create out of that piece of stock. The
image also has to be crystal clear and easily altered.
Anyway, Check them out, I'm sure you'll agree, just click on their deviation.

Goodbye Nostalgia CriticAnd so the Nostalgia Critic has become nostalgia itself...Goodbye Nostalgia Critic3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I knew that Doug couldn't play the Critic forever and after 200+ episodes, I was partially preparing myself for the day when he would make THAT announcement and when it did come yesterday, I knew exactly what he was going to say; that he had done everything he could with the character, there was nothing more to be said, it was simply the right time to end it, you know, the usual reasons... it's just that it STILL feels that it happened rather sooner than I was expecting it!
I think we were all in denial about what the original trailers for To Boldly Flee meant by declaring this the Nostalgia Critic's final journey and were hoping that that was just trailer-speak for a metaphorical end rather than a literal one. We can't deny that there were plenty of other signs that the character was being wrapped up but it was easy to believe that we were being paranoid and looking too much into certain scenes and that there would still be a
Olympic Fire and IndustryWell; the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics certainly was .surprising.Olympic Fire and Industry3 years ago in Personal More Like This
As I predicted; there was quite a bit of content that just had me squirming in my chair, thinking "No! NO! Why did you do that?!". The absurdity of the nod to the NHS, for example, and the sudden appearance of various storybook villains, which felt (for lack of a better word) "Disney".
However; the "historical" section of the ceremony's opening half utterly blew me away. An unexpected appearance by Kenneth Branagh, playing Isambard Kingdom Brunel (who essentially WAS the Industrial Revolution), began a spectacular sequence that pretty much summed up what Britain's past was all about; fire and industry.
It was, without a doubt, the highlight of the entire spectacle, and if you either didn't get the chance to catch it or didn't bother to watch it, I urge you to track it down online!
And then there was James Bond .charged with the most difficult seduction of his career.
Yes. That really was her. I couldn'

What happened here in Missouri
It all started when a cop shot an unarmed black teenager named Michael Brown for “jaywalking” in Ferguson, Missouri. Witnesses say Michael Brown, 18, had raised his hands to surrender when the shots were fired. Police have not confirmed that information.
Shortly afterwards a group of people approached the police department in peaceful protest and demanded answers and information, a lot of

When I first sold LMS to Paramount, a lot of people asked me: "How much money did you get?" "You're probably rich now, right?"
I mean, the solid gold mansion I bought was just a little gift to myself...but...
Ever since I was little, I've known I wanted to draw. From the day my parents put a pencil in my hand, this was my future. I just knew it, I had that gut feeling. So I stuck to it, and thankfully it took me to heights I'd have never imagined possible. Now with my new book Redemption heading off to studios soon for a hopeful movie package, I can't wait to see where this new road takes me.
That said, there's something else that tops all of this.
The other night I went out to visit my girlfriend's cousin and her family. Incredibly kind people with very sweet kids. Other than the two parents, there were 3 kids, but the one who caught my interest was the eight-year old boy, Diego.
Diego, shy, tiny, slender, reminded me of myself when I was his a
