Not everyone's Teiko uniforms are ready just yet, but we wanted to get a feel of things for the proper shoot so we did this for practice. It gave us a chance to try out our wigs and makeup and junk to see what we need to improve on for our actual cosplays.

Marceline the Vampire Queen FAQSince I get asked the same questions about this costume a lot, I figured I'd write up an FAQ for interested parties:Marceline the Vampire Queen FAQ4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Q: Where did you get your wig?
A: My Finn made it for me. It was made out of two long wigs-- one 48 inch, one 60 inch. They were purchased on Ebay. I don't know the seller, sorry!
Q: How did you do the makeup?
A: It is Ben Nye Character Series cream makeup in Ghoul Grey (CB-8). It was applied using latex makeup sponges and sealed with Ben Nye Neutral Set Colorless Powder and hairspray. I do not recommend using hairspray unless you have someone helping you apply the makeup.
You can buy it here: http://www.frendsbeautysupplyonline.com/bennyecharacterbasecb-8ghoulgrey.aspx for only $3.40!
Q: How much makeup did you use?
A: Evicted! : Medium Coverage (face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms, hands)
Henchmen: Medium Coverage (face, neck, chest, shoulders, arms, hands)
It Came From the Nightosphere**: Minimum Coverage (face, neck, hands)
Heat Signature: Medium
Personal LibraryQuite a few times I've been asked what books I like and could I suggest any good reads. Well, here is a journal with some of my top authors and books for you to consider.Personal Library3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I will start by saying that my two favourite genres are historical and gothic horror. I do deleve into fantasy, but generally I will only read a fantasy novel if it's not set in modern times.
I also tend towards first person and will not read a book if the protagonist is female. So brace yourselves!
SALAMANDER by Thomas Wharton.
This is my favourite book and for many good reasons. It is set in an alternative Victorian era, and follows the life of a book maker called Nicolas as he travels around the world trying to make an infinite book. (A book with no end and no start).
The narrative is overly colourful and the author takes full advantage of the readers senses, especially that of smell and sight. The short narratives play like a cinematic reel in the mind.
Overall, it's a book about books which contains some very hea

Once homeless Miami man earns a Masters degree
After several arrests, drug addiction and being homeless, a Miami man has overcome the odds to graduate from FIU with a Master's degree in social work.
Out of thousands of graduates, only one -- 50-year-old Aaron Alvin Sr. -- got a standing ovation at Tuesday night's graduation ceremony.
"I wanted to make sure I was in a position to help people and so I went ahead and got my Master's," Alvin said. "I just continued to pursue something that was bigger and better and ended up here."
Alvin was arrested several times for drugs, grand theft auto, and domestic violence. He was also homeless for a time.
He said he never,

Anime Revolution Review + Avatar VideoAnime Revolution ended a few days ago and I'm still riding that con high! In my opinion it was a stellar con with a really clean and professional atmosphere/vibe. It was the con's first year, but to me it ran (and looked) like a much more experienced con. I've heard a lots of criticism of the con, but not from the people I ran into at the con itself. Everyone I came across seemed to be in really good spirits and had a positive opinion of the con. I know that there are some tensions are Vancouver cons at the moment, but in my opinion the more the better! I'm not going to side with one con or another, to me that'd be silly, I want all the cons to succeed cause if my hometown was con central than I'd never be bored!!! WHICH IS AWESOME!Anime Revolution Review + Avatar Video3 years ago in Personal More Like This

So on Friday I was the Hipster!Nightwing to :icon inquiringcharlie: 's Hipster Robin and :iconlightningmomo:'s Hipster Stephanie Brown. The other members of FRP weren't hipsters
We did a photo shoot and just chilled mostly but most importantly met up with our fan club Ashelee and Autum! Who were both adorable!!
It rained a lot so we left early to try and avoid the tropical storm (which did not work) and all around just sat inside.
Saturday was the best by far! I was Robin from Young Justice and actually made it though the whole day in that cosplay which is miraculous because it is a jump suit of leather!!!!!
The day started out with lots of pictures and all aroun trolling until we went to do a FRP photoshoot.
I was started to get obscenely hot because it was around 1 and the sun was shinning right on to my black cape, so I unsipped my shirt and took off the cape. All of a sudden I hear :icon0o-tui-and-la-o0: say, "A wild Bane has appeared!

Daily Deviation and Wig Video Tutorials on Arda!WHoo~! Journey Journal skin! I'm working on a Journey Cosplay for Ikkicon; it's been something I've wanted to do since I played the game when it came out. If you haven't played Journey, then you should download it to the PS3, buy the collector's edition in stores, or go to a friend's house that has a PS3 and buy/play it. It only takes a couple hours to play through, and it's a unique experience that gives you all the feelz.Daily Deviation and Wig Video Tutorials on Arda!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Onto business, one of my jobs at Arda-wigs is to provide helpful wig styling tutorials. They're available for anyone to use, so check 'em out!
I'll be going over a lot of the easier basics first, but over time I'll get into more advanced stuff. My crazier wig tutorials are still available here in a folder on my profile, so use them to your heart's content. :3
Also, I noticed I got a DD today on Yusei! And it was one of my fav. pictures too! Thanks so much for the support! <333

Next... week.... o.O
Seriously, this holiday/convention has crept up out of nowhere. Although I'm hell'a nervous about the flight, I am excited about spending two weeks with a few of my crazy crew and of course seeing many new/old faces from across the seas. America in 2010 was my first overseas holiday in yeeeears, and I never imagined that I would actually be going back there again. <3
Lucky Charms. All the lucky charms!
I need to pack XD
So yeah, see you all at Metrocon!

Anti-Islamic websitesAssalaamu alaikum [Peace be to you],Anti-Islamic websites2 years ago in Personal More Like This
For Muslim brothers and sisters,
A questioner asked: "People are emailing me websites that attack Islam. They say... that we should send this out to everyone and tell them about it. But is this a good idea to send these sites to everyone? What about the non-Muslims? Should we tell them to be careful too? What should be done? Can we visit them at all? Should we warn others?"
One of the downsides of the internet is that it has given our critics and enemies an opportunity to publicly defame the religion of Islam. I guess this is the price of having freedom of speech. Sometimes you have to read and hear things which are just plain detestable.
The fact of the matter is that its enemies have defamed Islam from the very beginning and this is not about to change anytime soon. What's more, since Muslims are in a very weak position these days, the amount of anti-Islamic propaganda is on the rise from many quarters. I am sure we have all encountered numerous w

''DON'T SCRAP THAT!''Two of the best pieces of advice I ever got considering art and drawings came from the very same person: A graphic designer who often stopped by at the comicshop. We spent a lot of time chatting about techniques and most of my knowledge about fibonacci and golden ratio I have because of him.''DON'T SCRAP THAT!''11 months ago in Personal More Like This
As for the points of advice:
One was that I should just take my time with my drawings and paintings. If I don't have a deadline, there is no need to finish it within a fixed timeframe. And I can work on it as long as I want, till it's finished. Or till I get bored with it. And never finish it and start something new. It's not like I'm bound in any way, right?
The second tip was to never shy back from starting from scratch. Whatever the reason might be. Just because I have just spent hours on that one detailed bit does not mean that the final image will look great if I build it around my initial hours of work. It can. But it does not have to.
So, I often I scrap drafts, paint over a painting or s

WARNING, LONG JOURNAL
To tell you the truth, This journal entry should not have been here in the first place. but because of the fact that some Muslim brothers and sisters may not always know how to react in a way that reflect their true intentions or aim, I feel the necessity to write something about this issue and express my personal opinion about it.
From time to time, we hear about some people making sick cartoons depicting a corrupted doodle of the last prophet of the God, Mohammed -peace and blessings be upon him-. sometimes we also hear of some movies made for the sole purpose to vilify Islam and insult the prophet. I am not going to discuss whether these people have right to express themselves in such a way or not. the subject was covered countless times and it is pointless to repeat. what I want to talk about is the Muslim reaction and how it should be.
Usually, when we hear of such things (movie, cartoon, book...) we hear of the rea

Legend of Korra: Costume Design! One of the neat things about being the lead designer of a show like Young Justice is getting to interact with the fans through sites like this one, seeing the awesome fan art you guys do is a big inspiration for myself and a lot of the other artists and writers on the show. It really keeps us motivated knowing that you guys and girls appreciate the characters and stories we are creating. Along with great art my other favorite aspect of fandom, and easily the most hardcore representation of it, is the cosplayers and their dedication to show accurate costumes. So with SDCC right around the corner I thought I would share a little something interesting with all you Legend of Korra fans out there, as well as cosplayers in general. Last year at around this time my good buddy, Joaquim http://2-cents.deviantart.com/, who is a co-executive producer on Korra, asked my wife, she is a clothing designer by trade, to create a show accurate Korra outfit to be worn by the official model representing tLegend of Korra: Costume Design!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
