MountainsI'm standing in the valley
Up around me are the mountains
Seated there like thrones
My faith is so small
That I can't seem to move em
They stay rock solid..
But why can't I now?
Is it my faith thats wrong?
Or is it that they belong?
Still, so stuck am I...
Staring at the mountains
That I can't see your grace
For the train of your robe
Is filling the heavens
And you are seated on your throne...

I've been meaning to write this to you for quite some time. I've always wished that I could make you see just who you really are. But you never listen. So maybe you'll hear me in this letter to who you claim to be.
You're not just any girl. Not at all. Your silence brings beauty to the words of others. Your words crack open the things left unsaid, and shine light on all the places few dare look. You have a way about you that whispers of a majesty, and yet you always hold others up beyond yourself.
Your eyes could scratch past the surface of the "hello"s and "how are you?"s. You refuse to see less than all there truly is.
I wish that others would let you know, and maybe someday you'll figure it out. Because I know the truth. Can't you just once try to see who you really are?
To the RiverShe was sitting lonely at the keyboardTo the River7 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Staring tightly to the screen
She heard the loud phone as it rung
Broke the silence of the night.
She answered with a chearful heart
Heard the words that "Kyle has died."
She couldn't believe the words tonight
But still the words came once again.
Silence fills her mind and soul
Left her screaming and all torn
Life shouldn't trully be this way
But death has sown and has reaped.
To the river the boy had gone
Forgot to wear a simple jacket
Born to die at such young age.
What good you ask shall come of this?
To the river she is going
Bringing pain she cannot bear
All the friends and people going
Singing songs of great despair
Tears are left to stream the face
Soak like water and like rain
Family hurt more than she is
Nothing left for her to do.
From the river she is coming
Keeping pain she still must bear
All the crying she is doing
Is the only way to care.
When she gets home this bloody night
All the phones are ringing thus.
Not a spare of silence le

Malicious smiles and

I never noticed before now

your beautiful eyes.

I keep pent up inside

Echoing HeartUpon this grassy slope I sing,Echoing Heart8 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
These praises in my heart I bring.
Above me, I can glance the sky,
Where angels praise the Lord on high.
The sunset slowly falls afore
Like sweet Heaven's open door.
The words I sing shall break my heart,
As they split it all apart.
Shattered, here I sit,
I even almost try to quit.
Friends around me change my mind
These ties are strong, they seem to bind.
I cannot leave Thee
Though it shall try me
This love is far to strong
Nothing ever can go wrong.
For you are the Lord of me
Nothing I have can equal Thee.
So, shall I praise You to the end?
Or stand up from bended knee?

i don't know what i'm feeling,
or why my heart skips three beats
when she walks down hallways
that i've never even seen.
the truth is, that somedays i
feel like i'm holding air,
bottling feelings till they explode.
whispering secrets to the night sky
and wishing i could feel.
i don't know what i'm not saying,
and i wish that i could hold her.
but that can't happen. it's not possible.
i can't be there when the sun sets;
all this fear is seeping out
of the wholes that i thought
i closed up so very long ago.
and i don't know what to think.
the truth is: i don't know
the secret is: i wish i did
you wanted the truth, so
the truth is what you'll find.

On the moonbright windowsill,
with delicate lace-tendrils
twined against her tender frame.
Whispers of moonlight
float across her eyes,
smothering the sunset
amidst her frosted gaze.
She hears the sound
Of sundown and sunrise,
amidst the colors in
her tired eyes.
ballerinas pirouette their illusions
to nature's lightening strike,
beneath her ebony, shadow sky,
with shooting stars spelling dreams.
Dreams of words and colors,
and whispers of wonder.
with hollow gems of tear-water
wrapping around her cheekbone.
her dreams are slipping away.
Music in the FireBut there is music,Music in the Fire5 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Lost in the fires and flames.
It gurgles and dances
With every flickering light.
And the music is soft,
But grander than the sun.
The words to which are lost
In the dance that is never
Learned nor taught to anyone.
Even the ashes dance
With a wordless joy,
And the wood gives light
For its silent harmonies.
Remember all the days long done
And all the time we've never had.
Remember the air, as it burns
With a heat now harsh, now soft.
And all the words spoken above
The flames. That's the dance,
And the music of our time.
That is the hour spent "wasting"
Away. And yet still more meaning
is left there than anywhere else.
Yesterday You Never KnewTell yourself you'll wait until tomorrow,Yesterday You Never Knew5 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
The yesterday you never knew.
Let the skies wash away in loneliness,
And the air breathe with your heart.
Remember tomorrow as you move
Through the days gone by,
And dance with the bitter joy
That comes when yesterday was tomorrow.
Today is the moment,
Eternity stretched across
The singularity of time.
It's never ceasing, and ever present,
Yet always never here.
Fleeting faster than the light,
And dancing more joyously
Than we ever could.
Tell yourself you'll wait until tomorrow,
The yesterday you never knew.

What I cannot promise youThere's only one thing I wish. What I cannot promise you7 years ago in Songs & Lyrics More Like This
That I could promise you alone
That with all my strength,
And for all my days
That I will love you as my own.
But I could never tell you that
My love is not so strong.
But there is a love inside this
Cold and weary heart of mine.
His thoughts, are higher than mine
His words, are wiser than mine
And His love, is stronger than mine
He never changes, never fails
And never seeks His own
So by the promises of Him,
Who lives in me and you
Oh, I know the words I say to you
Are words I'm going to do.
I know that I love you
So much more than words can say
But I don't really know how long
Just how long it will last
I'm not asking for forever,
Just for one more moment now.
Old time, he's ticking on me
Well, I'm so sad since you went away
Love was the last place I wanted to be
But I'm lost in these woods
And I like it this way
Please just come and stay with me.
Don't promise me that
You'll be mine forever
Just come and give me
This one day.

It's growing thick
Things are going crazy
And I don't know why...
Maybe its the place I am...
Or is it the songs that are playing?
I'll never never know...
But I long to know the answers
Please speak to me Lord?
I really don't know what to say.
He's standing there before me
Lost and searching for his soul...
What are the thoughts
and the moments of his heart?
I don't understand how
You can love him today...

Staring back at me.

Won't reach me,
And whispered "iloveyous"
On the radio signal
Can't reach into
The Faraday cage that
I call my heart.
Cause I'm just a deaf man,
Lying on the backstreet,
Hoping there is no one
Mistaking me for dead:
But you've known
That's all I am inside.

What a wonderful weapon,
Says the little devil
Floating beside our shoulders.
What are these bones?
They're not quite brittle
Won't they ever hurt enough
But hearts, warm hearts
Now those, those are
Easy to break, and twist,
And tear so that
Ripe blood drips everywhere.
It is with words that we are broken,
And with anger that we shatter.
No amount of broken bones
Could ever hurt like
A broken heart

Is this what we've become?
This isn't what I meant
When I said we'd last forever.
