Shizuo brought a hand to his mouth to conceal an involuntary yawn. His employer Tom had asked if he received enough sleep last night, commenting that he appeared somnolent, but Shizuo brushed him off, muttering, “I’m fine,” before proceeding to open his mouth wide with another deep inhalation.
Silently following behind Tom, Shizuo observed the activity of the residents in Ikebukuro, noting that few people walked the streets alone anymore. It simply wasn’t safe to with regular kidnappings, infamous gangs, and occasional deaths. The reputation here was growing and not positively. He somehow had a feeling Izaya was behind most, if not all of it.
Shizuo halted in his footsteps as Tom stopped to speak with someone who had failed to pay their debt. He hadn’t caught the reason as to why, but knew it was either because of a lack of financial planning; due to an unforeseen eventuality such as the loss of a job or health problems, a dispute or disagreement of the de

and place that hollow feeling,
that bitter sweet aching in my chest,
away for just the night.
From the driftwood of this morning
and the beach sand you let in,
with your early tide and open windows,
I'd make the semblance of a laugh,
a small joke at a crooked smile.
Then I'd steal that burlap bag
and take the yellow long grass from the noon.
I'd wrap it round your corkscrew frame
and pretend you really meant it,
when you held me through the night;
that maybe I'm not bullshitting myself.
Maybe I'd hold some river stones,
and warm them in my hands.
Imagine their smooth water worn surface,
was the grooves of your palms.
So you'd be here next to me,
beneath the speckled night,
And together we would swat away
the mosquitoes and bad memories.
I wish I could build my happiness
out of the shattered yesterdays,
recreate everything that warmed me,
and ran like fire, down to the tips of my fingers and toes.
But my straw-man serves only a glum reminder,
HP vs. Twilight EssayWHY HARRY POTTER IS BETTER THAN TWILIGHTHP vs. Twilight Essay4 years ago in Academic Essays More Like This
The Harry Potter novels are one of the very few book series which have been deemed a classic by critics and readers right after being published. It was obvious for everyone from the start that Harry Potter would be remembered forever. The same cannot be said for the Twilight novels by Stephanie Meyer which are poorly written trash, surprisingly amusing to many teens nationwide. The movies came out as well, which were even worse than the books, which is saying something. Honestly, I could only watch the very first one; it was too painful to see the soap opera continue.
To summarize the books, Harry Potter is the story of an orphan boy who discovers he is a wizard, and his parents were killed by the evil Lord Voldemort. Each book records his epic adventures in the thrilling battle of Good vs. Evil. Twilight is the story of Bella Swan, an ordinary girl who moves to a small town, and there s

Rushing blood inside your veins,
But for how long can it remain,
Focus now on that golden shine,
Wait for that starting sign,
Sixty seconds and counting down,
Slowly you look around,
Twenty three others awaiting the same,
But only one will get the fame,
And only one will walk away,
To see their families another day,
That sound rings out loud and clear,
Your feet have wings brought on from fear,
Grab what you can is your only thought,
But that knife which you sought,
Bites into your back as you start to flee,
Slowly you fall to your knees,
Your thoughts are slipping out of your head,
As you collapse to the ground stone cold dead.
Returning in Wood
Pain rips along your front and side,
But you don't waste the breath to let out a cry,
Instead you spin and slash out without sight,
A cry and a cannon as you end a life,
Blood darkens your once pale skin,
You don't know if from you or from him,
It doesn't matter for you must fly,
Before someone decides it's your turn to die,
Spirited Away II Chapter Two Haku flew through the tunnel and over the field that would turn into a river very soon, since it was close to night time. He landed at the river's edge, then transformed back into his human state. Walking up the many flights of stairs that led to the Aburaya, he noticed that the lanterns were slightly lit, signaling that he needed to return quickly.Spirited Away II Chapter Two4 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
"Where is that boy?" the woman in red asked. She was standing at the beginning of the bridge to the bath house, worried and a little antsy for her friend whom she considered a little brother. Just as she was about to turn around and re-enter the bath house, a voice called out to her.
Kasei turned around and smiled as she saw Haku running up towards the bridge. She met him at the start and embraced him, which he returned.
"I was getting worried." she admitted, putting a hand on his shoulder, "How did everything go with Chihiro?"

You know the saying that when you die, your life flashes before your eyes? Well right there, part of Chihiro's life flashed before her. She could remember everything: From the moment she entered the tunnel with the stone spirit, till the moment she let go of Haku's hand and ran through the grass toward her parents.
She remembered Lin, Boh, Yubaba, Kamaji, Zeniba, and the rest of her friends from the bath house. She remembered Haku; the first person she met in the Spirit World and the last person she saw from the Spirit World. Haku was the boy who saved her, the boy who had once made a promise. That boy.
Haku was the reason she hadn't been able to have a relationship. She had been waiting for him like she promised.

"Forever and Always"
It was that kind of day that looked like nothing would happen.
It was also my birthday.
I was finally 18.
I was finally older.
"Chihiro make sure you come home soon! You father has prepared a wonderful Dinner for you!" My mother called from behind me as I ran out of the door holding me bag in one hand.
"I'll be home soon mom! Stop worrying!" I called back the wind whistling in my hair. As the cherry blossom petals flew around our little home in the meadows.
I was still wearing my school outfit but I honestly didn't give the slightest care.
I began to run along the slopes skidding down the hill.
I still remembered the first time our family had moved here.
I had made a friend that would last forever.
If only I could see him again.
My feet pattered as I passed several of the houses my mother had told me belonged to spirits.
I kept on running as I came across th

A heavy silence loomed over a certain bath house in the spirit world during the day. Now was rest time for the spirits. For them time was reversed, sleep was done in the day, work at night. Not that they needed sleep, it was more like a luxury.
Not like it was that bad to work well not nowadays any way, seeing as the abandoned river god Kohaku was in charge.
Ever since Yubaba had mysteriously been promoted to a high ranking position in the Kings court, taking her son Bou with her, Haku had been looking after the bath house.
He was a good boss. Unlike Yubaba he actually gave salaries and even holidays. He was strict and had high morals yet kind and everyone loved him for it.
Five years had passed and now Haku had matured into a strong tall and extremely attractive young man.
And now he lay, wide awake on his back in a large four poster bed in his bedroom wearing a white kimono tied with a black obi, his emerald green eyes staring up at the ceiling. He had been sur

Jack let his eyes flutter open slightly, his world was very out of focus so he blinked several times and allowed himself to get his bearings again. Unlike his last experience like this when he awoke, he was not in Pitch's lair, this time he could tell he was in the workshop. Where though? He had no idea.
Jack was lying on his right side and was facing a white and gray wall. His left side was upwards and for good reason, he could still feel the heat on his skin. It was like after a child got sunburn during the summer, the pink skin would radiate slightly. That is exactly how Jack's shoulder felt. As he slowly became more aware, he realized that he was no longer wearing his sweatshirt that was probably why it seemed just a little colder than usual. Without rolling onto
Acta Est Fabula ~5~ [Dragon!Rome x Reader]How long it took for Romulus to fly from the Northlands back to an area where it was warm, I didn’t have a clue. The entire flight seemed like it had lasted an eternity yet it also felt like it had never happened. Perhaps it was because the shock of recent events had just numbed everything up, or maybe even because I just didn’t want to think about it. I couldn’t even remember when the icy, glacial regions of the Northlands had began to give way to green forests and running rivers and an explosion of earthy colors, rather than white everywhere. Either way, when Romulus at last landed somewhere warm, it was in an open meadow that seemed to go on forever.Acta Est Fabula ~5~ [Dragon!Rome x Reader]2 years ago in General Fiction More Like This

Feeling somewhat more refreshed, Jackson made his way to the dressing rooms for morning practice, the memory of the masked man with the enchanted voice still fresh in his mind.
