The London street was grey and damp, the cobblestone glistening in the cold daylight. Steam-carriages passed frequently, and people milled about, looking into the windows of shops and tinker’s studios. A light wind blew through the streets, chilling the early morning.
Your black cane clacked on the stone as you walked. An airman passed, and you tipped your head down, your face hidden by the small veil attached to your hat. You held your breath as the airman’s gaze fell over you. The airman kept walking, turning his eyes elsewhere, much to your relief. You let out your breath.
You shifted uncomfortably in your dress, not used to wearing such closed-up clothing. You brushed your concealed knife, and felt slightly better. It wasn’t safe for you here. You surveyed the street again as you turned the corner. Pirates weren’t welcome in London.
Your heels clicked softly as you sped up, spotting your destination.

You ran a hand through your hair with a sigh. You adjusted your position, leaning your back against a tree, one foot flat against the trunk. Your bow rested on the ground at your feet. You let your eyes close as you waited.
Your eyes snapped open to reveal a quickly approaching Gilbert, bow in hand. You smiled, pushing yourself off the tree.
“Hey.” he greeted, his free arm wrapping around your waist.
“Hey.” you replied. You hooked your fingers in his jeans belt loops and pulled him closer, until your lips were almost touching.
“Happy to see me?” he asked with a smirk.
“Very” you responded before sealing your lips to his. You could feel his smirk through the kiss. Your lips moved together for a moment before you pulled away. “Shall we?” you asked, picking up your bow.
Gilbert nodded and laced his fingers with yours. You heard a noise and looked back. Something quickly ducked fr

You looked to the sky with baited breath. The air was thick with Aerials, England’s sky protectors. The reflective panels lining your ship, the Skyshadow, made you almost completely undetectable. Almost. You had to sail with caution.
You cast a glance back, hoping the pirate trio you had escaped wasn’t following yet. No sign of them. You turned your eyes forward once more. Your ship was eerily quiet. The ship’s main engine had been shut off, and the entire crew stood silently on the deck, keeping watch for Aerials. The Skyshadow coasted forward. You were almost clear of the city.
Your heart sped as you spotted an Aerial headed straight for you. Normally, you would’ve had no problem fighting them off, but now, you were in their air. They would swarm you before you could say ‘fire!’ You motioned to your first mate, a woman with a strange affinity with iron pans. She nodded from behind the glas
PrussiaxReader I Will Shoot You... 5You hummed along to your iPod as you walked towards your original shooting spot. You adjusted your grip on your bow as you neared your shooting spot. You knew it probably wasn’t a good idea to go back to the spot as you might run into your arch nemesis, but he had agreed to leave you alone… you shrugged off your apprehension. It was your spot, period.
The forest was quickly growing dark. You had set off later than you would have normally, and the sun was almost gone now. You did a little dance in time with your music, enjoying yourself more than you had for a while. You emerged into your clearing, eyes closed as you listened to your music. It wasn’t until you opened your eyes to set down your things that you noticed you weren’t actually alone in your clearing.
Gilbert stood there,

You were furious. Gilbert held his hands up in surrender, a familiar smirk playing on his lips.
“Nice to see you too, Frau.” He moved closer.
“Are you… stalking me?!” you yelled, your voice ringing through the forest.
“Nein.” But he didn’t sound very convincing. You moved over to a tree and hit your head against it in frustration. You didn’t know why the German was so infuriating.
“I am not German! I am Prussian!” Gilbert called, sounding annoyed. Apparently you had spoken your thought aloud. You hit your head on the tree again with a small groan. “You know what you’re problem is, Frau?”
“You?” You moved away from the tree, getting ready to shoot the ‘Prussian’.
“Very funny. Nein. Your arm is too high.” Gilbert walked towards you, a light

The night became darker as your ship flew smoothly into the heavy storm clouds. You could smell the rain approaching. An eerie stillness engulfed your ship as you disappeared into the clouds completely. A dark, roiling grey sea of air moved around you.
You looked up. You could just make out the moon’s position. You smirked. “Have Williams keep track of the moon.” You said with a glance at Eliza. She nodded and walked away. You climbed a rope ladder, looking out behind the ship. You could feel your adrenaline building.
Captain Beilshmidt watched through his focusing lens as your ship disappeared in the storm clouds. He lowered the lens. Cold blackness greeted you as your eyes flew open, fire igniting in your chest. You couldn't breath. You kicked and clawed, a different kind of blackness creeping into the edges of your vision. You felt yourself moving upwards, the darkness lightening. With a last lunge upwards you broke out of the darkness, cool night air filling your lungs.
You gasped, waiting for the burning pain in your chest to subside as you tread freezing water. You realized that you had no idea where you were. Fear crept under your skin as you frantically looked around. You were in some kind of lake, which was eerily still. To one side the banks were framed by forest. To the other, you could see the ocean shore.
You looked up to the skies for any sign of your ship as everything came back to you. There was no sign of the Skyshadow, nor of the burning fireballs that had been the trio's ships. You breathed out harshly, your bre

You struggled against the pull of the inky water, your lungs burning. You could just make out the form of the woman through the swirling abyss that enveloped you. You tried to swim, to move, to find air, but there was nothing. You struggled, black spots appearing on the edge of your vision.
The water parted like a curtain as the woman walked toward you. She rippled as she approached, her human mask melting away to reveal the skeletal face that had first tried to drag you under. She smiled wickedly, moving easily through the raging waters.
Your death is so beautiful.
You heard her voice in your head, a sound both like the crashing waves of the sea and the stillness of a winter night. You could feel yourself losing consciousness. The dance studio was tucked between two larger, dark grey buildings, yellow light from the streetlamps illuminating their concrete faces. You could hear the tram passing above on the suspended tracks as you approached the building, the new sign calling you forward. You paused with your hand on the door handle and took a deep breath.
You were rather nervous. You had danced when you were younger, but never seriously, and had only recently managed to pluck up the courage to resume. Before you could lose too much more of your resolve, you pushed into the dark stairwell beyond the door, waiting for your eyes to adjust. You could hear music playing, something with Spanish rhythms.
You started up the steps, your bag moving gently against your back, the stairwell becoming increasingly darker. Finally, after three flights of stairs, you reached another door, this one standing slightly ajar. You gently pushed it open, and felt your breath catch.

You jumped up onto the bottom rung of the ladder that had been lowered for you just as the ship began to rise into the dark sky.
You climbed easily up the rope ladder, your boots hitting the deck with a satisfying thump as you swung over the railing. Beilshmidt was being held by his arms by two of your crew members, both rather large. You had made him climb the ladder first, so he couldn't get away.

She had been studying the geography of the areas surrounding Singapore for several long hours now, and it showed in the dark circles under her eyes. She was tense as she stood and walked to the door, pulling it open harshly.

I never meant for this to happen. When I wrote you, you were just words on a page. Then you fell in love. I don't know how it happened, only that it did. Now here you are. Do you remember what happened?
Perhaps you don't. Shall I refresh your memory?
It was spring when I first started writing your story. The idea came to me as I walked along the shore and watched the angry gray sea. The story would be an epic adventure, full of strange creatures and fierce enemies and a main character unlike any other.
I took a few days for me to organize my thoughts before I sat down to write. The words flew out of my mind through my fingers. In no time I had the first eight chapters written. It was around that time that I began having dreams about the world I created, and the characters who dwelt there.
I wrote like I'd never written before. I had to constantly remind myself to

It had been three days. The Skyshadow still had the lead over Captain Honda's ships, but the gap was closing fast, and since Captain Honda had already had time to see where you were heading, there was nothing to do but fly on and prepare for the battle ahead.
You were sure there would be a battle. Eliza held on to hope that you could blend into Singapore's denizens, lose Honda in the crowds, but you knew he wouldn't be so easily fooled. You lowered your focusing glass, turning to look at your destination.
The lights of Singapore twinkled in the distance, framed by dark, looming cliffs. Jagged bits of rock stuck out of the cliffs at odd angles, sharp as knives.
