A Cat's Adventure - PROLOGUEDusty looked at their new kit admiringly. “What should we name him?” He murmured to his mate. Amber stroked the kit with her tail, not even looking up. “Tradition in Hylandia says that kits aren’t to be named until the 3th day of life.”A Cat's Adventure - PROLOGUE1 year ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
“I suppose then, we will wait.” Dusty responded. Amber stayed with her precious kit, as Dusty noticed how the sun from a window in the Dweller’s house was shining on the kit.
Amber and Dusty had been caretakers for quite a while, their other kit, padded over. “Can I see him?” She meowed. Amber nodded, and unwrapped her tail from their new kit. “He’s so cute!” Purring, Dusty pulled their daughter closer to them. “And what shall we call him?” she wondered. “We don’t know yet,” Dusty meowed. “Something will tell us.” But Dusty couldn’t forget the light that reflected off their newborn’s pelt. And something told him his name.
A Cat's Adventure - Ch 1Tom leaped on the window sill. His dweller, often addressed by the name “Doug” was creating a brownish mix, which looked like water with mud mixed in. Tom wasn’t an expert on the peculiar gadgets house-folk used, but he assumed that Doug enjoyed drinking the thick liquid every morning. Tom’s green eyes peered among the neat garden. Pine needles littered the ground. Lines of blue bunches of flowers lined a gravel walkway. Doug was a neat character. Always cleaning a spill in the same second it had been made. He lived alone in the small house, which was side by side lined with more houses, looking the same. Tom called it a ‘set.’A Cat's Adventure - Ch 11 year ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
“Tom! Here boy!” Doug’s unforgettable voice sounded. Tom had been living with Doug for as long as he could remember, and could understand a bit of speech. When Doug called him, he used his name. It had a...nice ring to it, as the house-folk would say.
Tom jumped off the window sill, and padded over to Doug, w
Just the Beginning [DarylxReader] Ch.1A scream shredded through the air of the forest, the guttural moans and yells from the Walker raising in response. The shrill sound never morphed into a word of 'help', never conforming into the universal plea for salvation. There was no help. There was no salvation. That was a fact you had accepted long ago.Just the Beginning [DarylxReader] Ch.12 years ago in Romance More Like This
Your heartbeat pounded ferociously in your chest, beating twice for every one time your leg hit the ground. Blood roared in your ears, too loud to hear the crunching of leaves and grass as your feet blazed across them, but not loud enough to block out the sounds of the flesh-eater that now called you its prey. You could hear it behind you; God, it moved fast. Your legs were already tiring, weakened by the jarring impact of it to the ground combined with the never-ending trek that had occupied your night. You could feel your pulse in your head, hammering with every sight.
Tree. Shrub. Look back. Walker.
The wind tore past you, latching onto your tattered clothes like fingers malici
Footprints in the SnowFootprints in the Snow11 months ago in Free Verse More Like This
Footsteps in the snow
Leading where we go
Back from where we came
Footprints in the snow
Stepping in the throe
Heavy on the toe
Where have you been?
Where will you go?
The footprints in the snow
Treading through the cold
Heading where you know
The blood will better flow
Leaving footprints in the snow
Each one a breadcrumb stowaway
Leading every follower in toe
The Tempest of Your MindIt's amazing to watch you wither away and die slowly as your mind explodes softly. It's horrible too though. The Tempest of Your Mind2 years ago in Emotional More Like This
It's horrible when I call it amazing. But how can I not?
It is what it is and there's nothing I can do.
Age is your enemy, I can see. It's led you to glassy eyes and faded smiles and you're so confused but everyone calls you the wisest ever alive. Even though you're not. You're not. You forgot your memories and your tribulations and errors when all your friends passed away. Pity too, because your advice would mean a lot. A lot to me.
But the tempest of your mind controls your thoughts and words. All your voice does is add dust to the wind.
It's rather disappointing.

I love smiles,
And you know what else?
I love your laugh, your voice.
It makes me feel secure and welcome,
it's as if you have charm embroidered onto your tongue.
Do you know this too?
You are the most supercalifragilisticexpialidocious person I've ever met.
And you're sweeter than sweet itself.
(Alright, that was cheesy)
And I'm sure you know,
How much I care and how much you mean to me.
But I . . . don't really know why I say this to you all the time,
maybe it's because . . . I like you.

and I am not an echo of my sister nor am I confused,
I know that culture is stupid
in thinking that poetry has no life of its
own, that unicorns and dragonflies don't live in our hearts,
and that orange juice and chocolate
taste exactly the same.
I know that life has endless mysteries and insane parallels.
Rage is a lot like passion and passion is a lot like rage.
That and an orange and gray striped sock somehow matches
the blue and pink polka-dotted one.
I know that pianos and violins sound a lot like music
but are really a sign that not everything is black and white.
That and trumpets and clarinets are best friends.
I know that there is only one doctor
that I would let cure me.
And there's only one set of parents
I would let help me.
That and spiral notebooks are the devil's handiwork.
Above everything else,
I know that it's all
very, very, complicated.

Although, I'm not having much success.
I gotta tell you, I'm getting a bit irritated
this sonnet is turning into a mess.
It's not like I wanted it to turn out this way
I like poetry, I really do
It's just this style really isn't my forte
I might as well be playing a kalamazoo
Scribbles and mistakes scratched all over my notebook
holes and tares all over the page
even my pen is giving me a dirty look
I just might go into a full blown rage
I think there's a reason why I write free verse poetry,
because then I don't write so terribly.

For a change of pace,
A rocket to the moon is being built in every avenue.
The Basshunter is searching for some FM static
but all he's finding is a puddle of mudd.
Rise against those all American rejects,
who woke you up at sixx am.
You might say it hurts,
but there's only one direction to acceptance.
I've got only three days of grace left
So lets make them the story of the year.
It's artist vs. poet in this world so
Com'on boy, lets not make this a fall out.
There's a fire inside all of us
So hit the lights and let it burn.
For this will be, a day to remember.

And, yes, I'm the kid that stands underneath it,
The one that keeps getting hit on the head

That you to remove this ugly dress,
Wore a dress more modestly but a straw hat and was able to speak
Without lying, cheating and drunken sweets...
Not gonna happen, will not happen ever.
Who eats the hearts of men for breakfast,
Washes down the blood always
He always comes to the crazy holiday...
