So, i have officially ended my graphic design course and i'll be looking into fashion illustrations courses instead. They don't have any acredited classes in my state, so i'll either be taking a short un-credited class at tafe, taking a course online, or waiting to travel to the other side of australia to do one their. plans for now are for me to be working while trying to build up a portfolio of decent work and get my work seen through sites like tumblr, pinterest, instagram and of course here.
I've also started a wordpress blog to showcase all these new drawings, to look more professional. DA is a hobbysite for me and this is something differant. [link]
it only has these two drawings up so far, but you've got to start small haha.

Anyway, these two looks are from an exteremly cool designer brand, Dsquared2, from the spring 2013 collection. sketched in pencil, coloured in copics and edited in photoshop.

None of these are my designs, they are high fashion looks from runways and i just drew them because they took my fancy.

First one is dolce gabbana, pretty sure, second...ive honestly forgotten since i didnt take note of the designer when i clipped the picture out of a magazine, and the last one is chanel.
Theyre all so differant from eachother they actually look quite strange in a picture together...

EDIT: the middle dress is by giles deacon :D[link]

Ruth Aldine
Aka: X-men known as Blindfold
Aka: Total cutie patootie
Aka: my new favourite

SO yeah i posted the sketch of the first look up but here it is coloured and next to an all new, fancier, outfit. More like a going out, date, look.
I like Ruth in autumn colours, so browns, maroons, plums etc. Also girly skirts mixed with boyish boots and coats. I mean she 'see's but in a differant kind of way than normal people, so i dont think her fashion sense is the most important thing to her but she has her own style. Kind of country meets thrift shop.

also if your not ready x-men legacy by now i think you need to get your priorities straight ok like seriously its awesome so read it

Quick sketch and colour i did of Emma and Jean, as imagined in my highschool AU story .

Emma is of course wearing an inappropriately short skirt and baring her mid-riff, while bringing her outrageously expensive hermes birkin bag (but its not like she owns a bag that isnt expensive, so…)

Jean is of course the girl next door in an adorable cardigan and skinny jeans , still looking like a million dollars.Note the little phoenix necklace she always wears.

Heres a link to the story if you're interested : ) it centres around Scott, but of course these two ladies are the main driving force for the plot

An x-men fanart mixed with a little fashion illustration.
Illyana is a character i've never really taken an interest in since I've started reading x-men comics, even when she was on the extinction team. But with the new uncanny series she has caught my attention in about 3 issues. I suddenly find myself liking Illyana haha. So i drew her being her badass self.

The knicker shorts are from one teaspoon.
Top is from sass and bide
The jacket is Adidas by Jeremy Scott
Necklaces are alexander mcqueen (the choker) and lanvin.
The garter can be found on etsy ([link]) link because you can buy them for $16 and they are hella cute.
Earrings were not referanced.

I wanted her to look punk, satanic, gaga-esque and luxe at the same time haha.

Another outfit girl, same deal as the last one i did, found the clothes on the net seperatly and joined them together to make the outfit. Also the LV 'necklace' is actually meant to be a bracelet...but i just put it on her neck...BECAUSE I CAN!!

took about 40 minutes, done in pencil, coloured in copics and outlined in fineliner.

So when i uploaded my disney high collection i promised prom dresses for all the girls
Heres a list of the girls i will be doing in future:
Mulan:[link]
Ariel:[link]
Rapunzel
Jasmine
Belle:[link]
Cinderella
Aurora
Snow white
Esmeralda
Pocahontas
Tiana
and Lottie

Also im going to mention that all of this pics are based around a story i'm writing over on FF.net [link] and in the story i'm not actually including a prom, but just a casual highschool dance. But naming these pictures 'Ariels casual highschool dance dress' isn't as catchy as 'prom dress' so that's why that's happening haha. Just saying, since if American proms are anything like Australian Balls, the girls would probably wear long, floor length dresses and i'm designing the girls cocktail dresses like this one.

The first thing i knew i wanted Rapunzels dress to be was cute! A poofy, layered ruffle skirt was a must. She doesnt really have a ball dress in the movie, her formal wear would be her wedding gown i guess, but i didnt want to go with the gold and white and wanted to stick with her main colour, purple. I also added the print as well as the sparkles to the bottom layers of her dress and the top, as i thought it would appeal to her artistic side rather than just having the plain fabric.

and also, just as a note, a lot of people who havent perhaps seen the movie, or just dont remember the ending, are surprised to see her with short brown hair. So, just saying, this IS the hair she has at the end of the movie and it is the hair i chose for her for my story : )

I went with this design for Ariel because i think it looks oceany. The top is kind of meant to replicate a seashell top with the ruffles and the way the bodice seperates it. The layers at the bottom are reminiscent of waves as well. I went with the colour since its the kind of shiny blue of the same dress she comes out of the ocean with when she chooses to live with eric on land right at the end. Also i think Ariel would choose something fun and playful looking, as with her hairstyle as a rough looking ponytail instead of some curled up do of some sort : )

Just messing around when sketching and i decided to design Emma Frost as a fantasy book character. She looks very Ice queen-ish haha.

my favourite part is the hooded cape. The hood comes down to connect to the neck peice and crystal shoulder pads, letting the rest of the material drape down and connect on either side like a shawl.

Its very sketchy, so you can see all the pencil marks, sorry. coloured in copics and edited in photoshop.
