As Haytham woke the details of his dreams slipped away alarmingly fast. As he opened his eyes he remembered little more than flames, the acrid smell of burning, and the haunting words spoken by his son only two days prior.
He didn't know what to think of the news. There was some sorrow of course, but though he had loved Ziio, she had left his life two decades ago. Maybe there was some disappointment, that Charles and the others had ignored his orders, leading to the creation of their greatest enemy today.
