The Red Lantern took another step forward and extended a hand, a gesture which he used only when he wanted her to come with him somewhere instead of staying where they were at the moment. His ocean blue gaze watched as she turned around in her chair, eyes slightly widened in something akin to surprise, yet she still gave a small nod and stood up from her chair. "We have not been sent on a mission yet, therefore, I am not preoccupied." she said, following him as they began to walk away from the main room of the Interceptor. Ever since Atrocitus and the rest of the Red Lantern Core had been defeated, the team had been going on small missions around the galaxy to help some civilians of certain planets in the Forgotten Zone to rebuild their homes, as that was, what the Guardians had sincerely promised to do.
The AI followed as she was led into the room in which her friend resided in and as he sat down on his bed, she did the same, considering from

Chapter One: What Ever Happened to Mikhail Walker?
----- On the desert surface of the planet Ysmault, a vast ocean of blood suddenly stilled its ebbs and flows. A silence enveloped the magic liquid, and the planet was calm. But only for a moment. Something stirred within the depths. The blood began to boil, hot bubbles rising to the surface of the red sea, practically igniting the surrounding air in a fiery napalm.
----- A half-dozen small object shot out of the ocean surface, careening into the air like bullets. They rose up into the sky, burning as hot as the ocean from which they rose, until they broke through the Ysmault atmosphere, coming to a sudden stop in the space above. Red rings, all topped with an ancient emblem. The symbol of the Red Lantern Corps.
----- The rings turned in the empty space, settling on their directions before shooting off into the distance, each with its own destination in the vast expanse of the universe.

Sam Kane and Damian Wayne trudged along a woodland path near Wayne Manor. Their dogs, Titus and Barkley, followed.
"We are NOT lost!" grumbled Damian.
"It's cold, and it's wet, and I want to go home!"
"It's just a walk in the woods."
"Well I can't be on patrol and I don't want to be cooped up in the Cave!"
"That's a first!"
Damian glowered at Sam, the younger boy was looking cranky. He was also pulling burrs out of Barkley's fur and the shaggy dog was struggling. "You need the exercise!"
"I exercise enough, Damian! Now we're going to be stuck out here until morning..."

"You said that three intersections ago...why does your dad have these many paths?!"
"For running and skiing."
Sam wrapped his coat around him, it was an October night, with a large moon overhead. But the manor was not seen. A low sound was heard in the woods. Barkley and Titus started growling. "There's something here...."

PROLOGUE: IN THE BEGINNING
Once upon a time, in another universe, there was darkness.
It was the era before reality became defined, at the point before existence that constitutes all came to be, in the time before the very concept of Time itself existed, when the Universe was anything BUT.
There was nothing, nothing but an absolute, lifeless darkness that stretched infinitely in all directions.
And for a time, it was the way things were.
Then, at an unspecified point of history, a spark was struck, either by design, or accident.
And there was Light.
It was WHITE Light of Creation. In later days that point of history would come to be known in many names: Genesis, The Big Bang, the Dawn of Time, the Carving of the Heavens, Alpha, the Beginning of Everything, and so on.
The absolute darkness in the universe was replaced by the Light, and for a while, it filled all of reality with its brilliance.
From this beginn

CHAPTER ONE: CALM BEFORE THE STORM
In the dark, in the endless night between the stars, something waited.
Far above Equestria, beyond the life-giving warmth of Celestia's sun and the cool light of Luna's moon, lay only a darkness as still and silent as the night before the first dawn. Of all the beings on the blue and green globe below only two had ever gone so far from their homeworld. And when Celestia and Luna satisfied themselves that nothing lived beyond their own beloved world, they ignored it. They believed it empty and devoid of life.
Lifeless, yes; empty, no.
Something that did not live, that had never lived, floated, and searched, and waited with the patience of oblivion itself.
Then, silently, it stopped in its track, as if it found what it was looking for. And quietly, without fuss, it made its way towards the unsuspecting world.

The morning comes, a pale sun brightens my room
and in shock and pain, I awake from a dark nightmare
But I understand that the void that fills this room
also occupies my heart, and it's more than I can bear
Gone are the lives of the dreaming innocent
Gone are the lives of the fighting, strong-willed men
All who followed the myth into a room for entertainment
and fell victim to the atrocities of a madman
All is gone...
Mourn the great loss of those who believed
Pray for those who face the trails of death
Despite our efforts, such pain cannot be relieved
as we watch our friends choke on their own breath
All is gone...
Yet, with all that's happened, we should not lose hope
For a hero taught us to have faith and to endure
So many are the deaths with which we need to cope
But we shall not let them become the poison to our cure
The lost lives will be remembered as heroes
Who have saved ours and taught us to live

-1602- Hampton Court, England; the seat of power of England, the residence of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth. Dark clouds hung overhead, hung over all of England, in fact. The air was thick with humidity and yet there had not been any rain in weeks, months almost. The air rumbled and grumbled as lightning flashed, but not a drop of water fell. A carriage, moving at a leisurely pace was approaching. The passenger was a youth, dressed like nobility; he had short, black hair and sharp blue eyes. He looked at the scenery outside, but his face had a deeply ponderous expression. The carriage pulled up to the gates of the Queen's mansion of Hampton Court.
"Master Wayne?" The driver said as the carriage came to a stop. "We've arrived, sir."
The young man exited the carriage, porters were waiting for him and began to take his luggage; he would remain in the hospitality of Her Majesty for a while, so he had packed some essentials. Another figure ca

He had tried to hurry. But the army was to much at the time. War was not for the impatient, and never will be. His colleagues were falling left and right, but then, their captain had stepped up, driving them into an insane plan, but one that worked.
They had rejoiced in their victory, but he had been quiet. They were killing their own... not Man Hunters... it shamed his soul to know his brothers had turned on one another when things got worse, and the Capitals had fell. Those who thought they were wiser, turned out to be bloodthirsty fools. And the true wise men were slaughtered like animals.
He found it sickening. As a child, he was taught to care for everything--even those that are a threat. For they too have a purpose. The wild dogs had enough right to live as the next man did. And here they were, killing each other

Remus covered his mouth as he yawned before sitting on the stool at the table. Because it was his birthday, his mother had gotten up early to start making the cake and any other treat she knew he'd want. It had been like this for as long as he could remember and he knew why.
"Pancakes?" he asked with sheepish smile when he realized he hadn't answered his mother yet. "With strawberries and lots of apple butter?"
His mother made a disgusted face, but Remus knew she was only joking. After all, he got his love for weird food combinations from her.

James walked over and looked over his shoulder, "What are you doing?"
Sirius looked at him for a moment and turned back to the task at hand. "I had a memory," he said distractedly as he continued to search. It was mostly filled with junk, but Sirius could only assume they all served a purpose or Remus would have gotten rid of the clutter.
Peter hopped off the bed and scurried over next to James, "About what?"
While Sirius kept rummaging around in the drawer he told them the memory. "Remus was reading to me from 'Hamlet'. I got confused and wanted him to read a different one. He asked which one and I said 'The Three Musketeers'."

And for the past three years they’ve always wondered what the girls did since they had better security than the boys.
“Probably gossip,” Peter muttered just loud enough for his friends to hear him.
Sirius rolled his eyes and turned in his seat so his back was to the door. “Pete, that’s what they do in the common room,” he said condescendingly. “And most of the time they don’t even whisper what they’re saying. No, I think they do something worse in their dorms.”
