Officially Back!I know I've been on using my phone here and there and my laptop to respond the best I could, but I've finally got stuff set up to work. I posted some pix of random stuff that have gone on for the last few days. Like driving, working on one of my computers, and setting up my stuff. I finally got to pull out my BRS tv version figma out of the box from the megacon last month. Its a great figma! Anyways enough with the bs. I gota start this miku. I now have 2x24" displays so I'm getting used to all the desktop space again. I was stuck with one 22" for a while and its been hard working like that.
Anyways going to look at miku's face and start working on that. I need to paint some eyes up!
Also I'm taking down the journal poll! Its pretty obvious what the response is!
BRS Cannon FinishedSo while I wait for ppl to get back to me I'll do some BRS stuff. Today I started with UVing and then just said what the heck lets just finish it. So did the UV's then baked AO. Then did a exploded view of the model and baked a normal map using Maya's transfer maps. The result was ok but I had some problems with the arms. Sp I put it in mudbox and subdivided it to get a high rez version and baked a normal map out of there and combined the two normal maps. The reason for the normal map is next!BRS Cannon Finished2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Once I have a normal map and AO I can then use Ndo2 by Quixel to generate Detail AO and a specular map. I then take all these textures and put them into Ddo which is probably the most powerful grunge filtering plugin ever made for 3d models. It takes data from all these maps and makes really nice stuff. For mmd I'm only using a diffuse for the weapon. But you can see in the preview window how it could look on the xbox or something.
Next is a quick stop in 3d max to fix vertex normals and sort sub
New Maya to MMD export tutorialHello all, new tutorial up for Maya and 3d max users to get your models into MMD in a dependable manor. This is the method I've used since I've started making MMD models. I know other people use blender and meta but I choose to use 3d max since I feel its dependable software that gives me full control to ensure a quality model.New Maya to MMD export tutorial5 months ago in Personal More Like This
I can't say I'll be doing any tutorials for blender or meta since I'm currently not at home using the software but I will be doing some short tutorials on getting MMD models out of PMX editor.
