DreamscapeI dreamed of vivid colours once,Dreamscape1 year ago in Free Verse More Like This
of bloody red and inky blue,
while life was ruled by lonely gray,
washed-out black and too-bright white
that left its canvas' edges frayed.
A brush that painted only dreams unreached
and expectations unfullfilled,
left a drowning world and city ruins,
and endless roads untravelled.
Colour had long bled out and faded,
living on in distant memories
of a shining sun that dawns in red
and chases away the black of the night,
and a bright, wide sky drenched in blue
fighting the desert of white.

Give me a reason why!
Pebbles rattled and the ground shook when Rohan's body first struck the earth. He was up again in a flash, his legs already scrambling to run. Finding purchase in the soft sand, he sprang forward. The ground rose sharply. Sand faded to rock and red dirt. Up, up, up--and suddenly it was level, jutting out over a canyon so deep he wouldn't have seen the bottom had he cared to look. He didn't. The Cavitto slid to a halt at the end of the ledge. When he reared, his massive hooves pawed furiously at the sky and lightning slashed across the looming gray clouds.
"What have you done? Tell me! Tell me, what have you done?!" his voice echoed over the empty space. His tail lashed angrily at the silence. "Answer me!" A bolt of lightning with power far greater than his own flashed across the sky and the voice that followed in its wake was somehow terrifying and comforting at the same time.
"No. What have you done?" Zeus's fury was

ARTIST ALLEY 101
Hi there deviantart guinea pigs! 8D I'm preparing an outline for a panel at A-kon! I have vast experience attending conventions and displaying my work. What I've written here are my total thoughts on how to do your first artist alley. It has not been made into an outline yet. What I'm needing is feedback, questions, and conversations about this information so I can decide what I might add or take away from this discussion before creating a final outline and hand out! Please help me! I'd really appreciate any comments you feel ready to leave! I am not really a comfortable public speaker, I only feel capable once I have prepared material extensively for the occasion.
Why to do an artist alley:
AA can turn a nice profit for a lot of people, but more often than not, First Con Ever is a learning experience more than a bountiful retail extravaganza. But before you shy away from losing money, consider that you'll probably pay more for a single college class and
A Series of DecisionsIn its methodology, photography can be reduced to a series of decisions which determine the exact characteristics of each photo. When conducting street photography, in particular, the opportunity to make these decisions is limited. The process begins slowly, with lots of time allowed for selecting gear, setting the camera, and so on. It then advances to a fast stage with little time for the photographer to react—the actual moment when the photograph is taken. This is followed by another slow stage after the decisive moment in which the photo can be edited and processed.A Series of Decisions9 months ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
This decision-making process can be broken down in order to minimize the decisions that must be made during the fleeting decisive moment. This, in turn, allows the photographer more time to make the two key decisions that remain in that moment: composition and timing.
Before You Shoot: Gear Selection
The first decision the photographer must make is which camera and lenses to take out of the bag. Gear select

Would you call this first love? The moment where you feel as though everything around you is nothing compared to this person you are faced with? Would you call this happiness being with the one person that is able to make your heart stop with one touch?
What would you call this?
Hes breathing down my neck as I hold him tightly in my grasp. His timid body was quivering in my arms his timid heh it scares me how skinny he is. It scares me how emotionless he was until now. It scares me to know that after tomorrow he wont exist. I had never felt so much despair and happiness before.
This would be our last moment, our last moment to be together. The tears were streaming, crashing down, leaving its subtle but noticeable mark on my shoulder. His tears felt like tons of weight falling down onto me, creating this heavy feeling within my chest and stomach. Wo

The Black Torrent had barely made it into the Control Center when Ulysses David approached him. The man’s face was flushed and his voice harsh, but it was clear he was making an effort to keep his composure.
“Like what?” the crimefighter asked, pulling off his mask to reveal the face of prominent real estate developer Michael Bruce.
“Caveat something or another. Why do you insist on doing stuff like that? You can’t go showing off. Ordinary people don’t use Latin in casual conversation.”
Michael ignored the man. He moved to the mirror, running his hand through his sandy blonde hair before checking the scab on his jaw. “That asshole clipped me good. I should’ve let him fall.”
Yule raised an eyebrow, his jaw hardening.
“I’m kidding,” Michael droned with a roll of his blue eyes.
The elder man walked over to the control console, pressing a few buttons. A screens

Putting the glass back on the tavern bar, Sywyn glanced at the young man who sat on the wooden stool beside him. Brown curls flickered in the firelight, and clear green eyes returned his gaze, inspecting him and looking for a reaction.
"I see you do recognize me. I must admit I really wasn't expecting so much," he said smiling, "it saves me the embarrassment of introducing myself again, at least."
The scarred elf looked away without a word, while his new companion kept staring at him with genuine curiosity.
"It's not like I thought you were going to be happy seeing me either, of course..."
No response came, and the young man just nodded peacefully, his smile still on his lips.
"You're not very talkative, I see... is it just because of me, or shall I assume you have other qualities to make up for it?"
Sywyn clenched the glass in his hand and held his breath in an effort to remain calm, teeth gritted behind pres
Hades and persephone chap sixChapter six: Bargains by Gods for GodsHades and persephone chap six6 years ago in General More Like This
It had been several days since Persephone had been taken back to her mother, several days since she had taken the gardeners advice. How she would tell her mother what she had done she didnt know but the day was coming. Demeter had returned to her golden self and the fields had returned to the green they had once been. All was good and happy on the earth, all but the little Goddess that sat in the tall grass and seemed lost in thought.
Demeter had not believed Persephone when she told her that she loved Hades and wanted nothing more than to return to him, Demeter had brushed it off as a brainwashing that would wear off eventually. There are no flowers over here, Persephone! Come and wake them. The Nymphs asked as they danced in the field. Persephone remembered when she would have gladly run to join them but now she seemed to have no will to even move. In her heart she regretted the deal she had made with Hades and wished she had n

:iconquietchildae: I was the artistic nude photography volunteer along with `wynnesome starting in July 2009, and by myself after she stepped down. I took on volunteering for the fetish photography gallery in June 2010. I stepped down to take a break back in January 2011, and then came back on for both galleries just in November!
:iconvirgino0owhore: Did you choose Artistic Nudes or did it choose you?
:iconquietchildae: I've been interested, and involved in nudes for a long time, as well as fetish work. I started out my career as a photographer shooting content for a fetish models paysite. So, I've chosen the "mature content" galleries from the beginning, I guess! I've never felt that there was any shame in the human body, or in human sexuality, and I think that they're very beautiful things, so it was pretty much a given that I would want to d

Orcs and goblins were at work, trying to contain the flames and extinguish them with buckets of water. Even the magicians were trying to do their best with spells of containment and obstruction. Vondel was watching a few dozen meters away from the fire, the swarming creatures intent to quell the fire. His eyes were fine fissures imbued with hatred and his expression was pulled nervously. He was soaked. His white hair clung to his white skin, as well as his clothes. However, he did not move nor utter a single word for several minutes. He hated the fire. And most of all he hated the setbacks. Nothing and no one should hinder his plans. But when this happened, and he had no culprit to blame, frustration and anger grew in him enormously.

It was said that when the old King of France had Versailles built, he declared it to be a testament to the countrys greatness and grandeur. It would forever stand a symbol of a nation, unified in art and culture and the heritage that such things brought. Nothing and no one would defy us once our enemies beheld the beauty that was Versailles
But personally, I have never thought so.
Between myself and my thoughts, we have always known that the great golden palace the current sprawling seat of the French royal family, far from the teeming capitol of Paris was but a playground for them. Like anyone looking to ignore their troubles, they naturally chose a setting that would allow them to forget the people they claimed to lead. They would surround themselves with riches, bring up their children on opulence, and

Damn it! Camael growled lifting his head from a glistening piercing. Apolon was dazed and struggling to right himself but Camael pressed a firm hand to his chest. You stay right there, I have a lot I want to do to you. Camael said and then stood to answer the door. I need to die more often Apolon muttered under his breath then giggled in glee at the knowledge of Camaels insatiable lust for him.
Hi! Azeran said when Camael opened the door; it was then slammed shut just as fast. Hey! Come on, open up! Azeran barked. Camael sighed and opened it again. What? He asked. Goodness you are so grumpy, even after you find out that Apolon is lying half naked on the floor ok. Azeran said with a flush on his youthful cheeks. Apolon waved and smiled. Hey! He said cheerfully. Camael let out an exasperated breath and allowed Azeran in.

Stan's Coffee House was a small shop with a small staff and that made it difficult to handle busy days. As Melody prepared the double espresso, she grumbled, wondering for the thirtieth time where Ravenswood was. He was supposed to be working that morning, but never showed up, or even called. If Jeff hadn't popped in unexpectedly, they never would have been able to handle the crowd.
As she finished making the drink, she paused to compose herself. It wouldn't be good to just yell, "Here!" and slam the cup down in front of the customer, so she forced herself to speak pleasantly. "Here you are, sir."
The customer smiled and took the drink. "Thank y

Demeter sat weeping, weeping and weeping still. Her heart was gone and her light put out, so much so that the harvest did not come and the earth was cold and bitter. Her long golden locks had turned gray and her perfect skin wrinkled over like that of an old crone. Her nymphs tried to console her but their efforts mattered little, only one thing would bring the glow back to the Goddess and it was gone. Demeter sat at the place she had last seen her daughter, the field where she had left her for but a moment.
The Gods had pleaded for Demeter to bless the earth again but she refused to allow anything to grow until her daughter was found. People and animals starved and the ground sprouted no seed but still, Demeter could not find the spirit to bring the spring. Even Zeus begged her but she still refused.
The fields were dry and dead and the snow fell upon it and the wind felt as ice against the skin. In the distance, not too far away, a young boy

Azeran twiddled his thumbs and paced as he waited for Daath to appear, he had said he would do what he could for Camael but Daath appeared suddenly, like always, looking rather surprised he had been called down. It was not something that was done very often unless of course someone wanted to trade something to release a soul he really hated that; it just threw everything out of skew. Azeran ? Why have you called me? Daath asked tilting his head just enough to disturb the billowy Smokey hair gathered around his shoulders.
Azeran didnt relish breaking this news to Daath; he loved Apolon like a son, if he could have a son that is. Apolon is no longer with us, Daath Azeran said quietly. First the Angel of death drew his brow together in confusion then his pale features shifted to disbelieving sorrow. How ? Was all the grim Sheppard could utter. Walden
Lost and Found - Scene 3 The Dark Flame groaned as she stared down the empty street. She always hated the last leg of the journey home after crimefighting. Usually, she was tired and sore. Tonight, she was also in severe pain. Her arm was badly burned and she was also shaken. The thug she had encountered had aimed a can of acid at her face. She shuddered to think of what would have happened had she not reacted quickly enough. It may have cost her her vision...or a lot worse. As if that wasn’t enough, the whole scene had been witnessed by the Black Torrent. For months she had tried to prove herself and show the city’s top crimefighter that she was capable enough to stand beside him. Now she felt like a total fool. When he had confronted her, she had wanted to cry.Lost and Found - Scene 33 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

Slapped! By God I could not have looked more shocked than the fools who gathered to watch us part. From the moment we came to step on the dance floor she was rigidly cold and stiff, I would liken her to a frozen rose yet to bloom. Her eyes evading mine as did her mind, her mind was locked like a well sealed chest with no key, no matter how hard I tried to pry into it, it simply wouldnt budge. I had the notion that she knew I was clawing away at her guards, I had a good notion she knew what I was too. When her acquaintance near pushed her to me I thought her cheeks could not have glowed brighter nor been more beautiful. Her silent dismissal of my questions lead me to the conclusion that I had apparently gotten quite lazy with the art of conversation, being that I normally did not have the need for it, it was a failing virtue in my arsenal of societal charms. As she stormed across the mass of on lookers there was not a one woman that did not cast a w

I kicked at the pile of dust that was once a living, breathing creature. Though, by all rights it should not have been. What had I seen? My mind reeled still. My blue maiden was something more than what she appeared to be at first. Throughout the dinner I should have known; her arrogance, fearlessness and smug little smiles should have told me that she was no helpless woman. After she had left, refusing my company and practically demanding I turn and forget my duty, I decided to follow her. Her rigidness eased slightly when she felt she was alone and I could not help but notice she seemed lost in thought, what could she be thinking I wondered? The moonlight made her skin shimmer and glow reminding me of one of the muses that guarded my door no, Persephone... could Cossette be so frigid? I wondered as my lips effortlessly curved into a smile. Could her heart be frozen so that even the God of the underworld could not melt it with hell fire? After a point, the scurr

The next evening, or morning to Vampires, seemed to come far too early. Loken groaned against the hunger burning in his gut and the alarm clock blaring in his ear. It was set for one hour before sundown so he could get an early start, most Vampires actually liked to rise at least an hour after sundown to be safe. But Loken often pushed aside the concepts of safety, much to his mothers displeasure. He rose from bed, it was a normal bed just like any other bed, no coffins, and went into his bathroom to shower and dress, even though he didnt have to dress by normal means.
His hair was so long that he often shortened it for a shower, since he was able to swipe it away with his hand and then return it to its original length in the same manner. His hair was very odd, even to his fellow Vampires, for it was turning silver. When he was born it was pure black like his father and sisters but by the age of eighteen his bangs had gone silver and now most

I have a problem. Adrian admitted stiffly. He could just see his Brothers smirk. Do tell. Mael said and he was smirking when he spoke. I have a girl who knows what I am. Worse yet, she is marked and I cannot seem to remove it. Adrian explained. There was a pause on the other end of the phone before Mael spoke again. You marked a girl, you? He asked with a stifled laugh. Its not funny. The girl is suffering from it. I somehow bonded her to me and then forgot. Adrian admitted.
You are not a fledgling, Adrian. You know how to remove a mark Mael stifles another laugh. But a bond... there might be a problem with that. Cassy went wide eyed when she heard her Husbands words. She mouthed silently, Are you kidding???!!! Mael shook his head and grinned broadly at her. Can you help me or not? Adrian snapped finally.

So we are here alone ? Isabel mumbled. Hell yeah and with all these sweet channels and Adrians permission to buy and watch UFC 234, Jordan VS Hower! Haedren said with a grin, the same grin that showed his large canines Isabel tried not to notice. Epic fail, she thought to herself. Stop hanging over there like a scared cat, come on over here and watch this with me, its no fun with only one person! Besides we used to watch these all the time when you were younger, remember? Remember when I showed you how to put your brother in a Triangle choke? Haedren asked and patted the seat next to him.
Isabel did remember that but it didnt make her feel any less nervous. Things were just different now. She knew that Haedren was kind to her and her brother for Adrians sake, despite the fact they were Vampires and he was a Volven, werewolf. The war between the two races wasnt raging as it

For a split second Adrian wanted to pretend he hadnt heard that noise and lowered his head back down to the lips that were literally shredding his self control. But when the second horrible noise sounded and screams erupted from below he knew he had to go. He cursed under his breath and pushed off the bed in a flash that left Abby reeling in a daze. It took her a second to realize what was happening and she ran after him. Adrian flew down the stairs and into the living area with Abby not far behind.
Cassy was hiding behind one the couches as were the children and Palanor. Something flew from the kitchen and completely wiped out the 64 TV. Adrians mouth dropped open in utter shock.
