This was meant to be a quick entry for last weeks Jungle queen themed Trinquette Challenge, but deadlines and getting a bit carried away meant it was late. Again. Was fun though... I have to paint more jungle stuff!
Pencil and ink, painted in photoshop. No leaves were harmed in the making of this painting.
Back in 2004 I was working on a comic I was calling 'Robyn Hood and her Mary Mehn'. Never got very far with the project before I stopped…. and now that Zenscope has launched a "Robyn Hood' comic of their own, thats where I will leave it . So here's me dragging out my character lineup art one final time, finishing off the colours and posting it as a farewell to the whole thing.
This is an exercise I do regularly. I redraw something by an artist I like as a way to see how they solve problems in their work. I generally have a few of these laying around the studio. It's a good way to get warmed up for inking.
For all you folks headed to the convention in Calgary, Canada this weekend Aspen is bringing this exclusive cover for "Fathom" #9 that I did with Peter Steigerwald to the show. Wish I could be there but I'll be having some fun in Chicago this weekend for C2E2.
