Mako paced himself back and forth in the living room while he muttered incoherent words only to scowl after words. Bolin was on the couch, watching how deeply troubled and hurt his big brother was and was trying to think of ways to call him down. Nothing seemed to work. Asami, who was in the kitchen, decided to make some tea and settle everyone's nerves.
"This wasn't supposed to happen " Mako finally stated as he stopped in front of a wall. "I just don't get it."
Bolin stood up from the couch and rubbed his neck. "Bro, I understand you are beyond confused and angry but please try to calm down.-"
"Calm down?" Mako mocked as he clenched his teeth. "How on earth am I supposed to calm down? I just found out today that not only is Korra the future heir of the Southern Water Tribe but now she is also engaged to another man. She is going to marry another man. Tell me, Bolin. If Asami was in

You used my patience; you smoked it like a drug, you took advantage of my presence, you evaporated us into nothing.
You decapitated our relationship; you cut it at the root, you shook out all the good, and threw the body into your subconscious.
You cut up my affections; you stored them in your selfishness, and turned them to dust.
You broke my heart. You took it in your hands, you tore it into two, it turned cold as ice, and you shattered it across my future with you.
You shocked me to the core, a surreality I long to never feel again. The abundance of my tears was enough to drown me, and suffocate me into an eternal river of agony –– that my memories of 'us' will float upon.
You deceived me beyond repair, I thought you would hold me through the hard times, instead you trampled on my pride, you flattened my hope, you destroyed the lov

Bolin smiled as he looked at the window, seeing the dark shadow outline of his brother about a few feet away coming towards their guest home. "It's him! Oh I knew it would end well! I bet those two are not allowing to keep their paws from one another this minute!"
"You're such a hopeless romantic aren't you?" Asami stated as she gave him a peck on the cheek.
Bolin gave her a toothy grin. "You know it. I have been waiting for these two to go out for like ever! I just can't wait until I get to call their "make out sessions", so sweet that they'll give me a toothache! "
Master Katara chuckled at the earthbender's reaction to the whole lover's drama. "You know, young man, you remind me so much of my brother. "
"What?! Oh no! Please! I can never be compared to the amazing Sokka! He was personally my favorite in Team Avatar. I guess I just like non benders." He said as he wink

Korra curled into her little body, desperately seeking warmth that would not come to her. She was tucked tightly against a brick wall in an alleyway, snow lightly littering the ground around her and sending a chill through her small form.
She would have bent a small fire in her hand to keep herself warm, but decided not to risk it what if someone saw the little Water Tribe girl Firebending? Even though it was unlikely, someone could see her, someone who might be involved with the Equalists, and they couldn't know, no one could that she was the Avatar. If someone found out, she would be in unavoidable danger.
She remembered what her parents used to tell her "Don't let anyone know, Korra. Keep your secret to only yourself." It was by those words that she abided, never letting on that she could bend three of the four elements she needed to be able to. They had told her she had to pretend to only be a Waterbender, and so pretend she did.

"Pretty boy? Is that you?"
Tahno lazily opened his eyes as the sun glared at his direction. He winced as sun pierce through the form of Korra, was leaning towards him.
"Why are laying in the park fountain?" Korra asked as she tilted her head in genuine curiosity.
Tahno instantly shot up and mumbled something intangible while slightly blushing at the fact that Korra discovered him sleeping in what he likes to call one of "his temporary homes." Apart from losing his bending, his friends, his fan girls, his fame, and his pride, Tahno was finding himself homeless.
Despite the fact Amon took his bending and cheated his way to first place, he was still awarded the prize winnings. With that money however, Tahno went straight to all the best healers in the city to see if somehow he could get his bending back. He spent all night trying to find a cure but it wasn't a success.
Tahno realized by dawn t

He had bought the raccoon mask from a pawnshop because it had looked cute, and had been itching to try it on all day, even though he would never do anything like that to something obviously antique. The moment he put it on he knew something was wrong, as his face started to tingle, and the mask suddenly felt tight and very hot. His first reaction was that he was having an allergic reaction to something in the mask, but that was quickly pushed aside when he removed the mask and it abjectly refused to budge. It was stuck solid. He tried to get his fingers under the mask but somehow, simply couldn't, it was almost like there was no gap between the dark wood of the edge of the mask and the skin of his head. Then he turned his attention back to the mirror. The mask looked totally different. Instead of slightly chipped paintwork it was covered in fur. "Where do you keep the tea bags?" Korra asked the older Firebender, pulling open a cupboard of the small attic kitchen, looking for the items in question.
"Next one over," he instructed her, watching the kettle closely. Korra opened the cupboard next to the one she had been previously searching and saw a few bags sitting in a glass jar, and reached inside for one. Inspecting it, she decided she'd like it well enough before shutting the cupboard door and placing said bag on the counter. Walking over to Mako, she bumped hips with him and gave him a smirk when he looked at her.
She stood beside him, and he knocked against her side, too. Korra smiled at him again, and then the kettle began to scream, signalling that it was ready to be removed. Mako took the contraption off the burner and poured the steaming water into a teapot beside him, and Korra grabbed the tea bag and placed it inside it before they relocated to the small table in the center of the ro

He almost didn't believe what he had just heard. He creaked his head around to the unassuming officer at the entrance to the saloon.
"You're sure?" he asked from his perch at the bench beside the barkeep.
"Sure as can be, Sheriff," the officer rattled, his voice cracking with fear. "It's...it's him."
The Deputy at his side straightened the ten gallon hat on his metal head and doubled back.
"I'll be a Met's uncle," he groaned. "That devil's here? In our town?"
The Sheriff sighed and rose from his stool as one rises in a church. He grabbed his bright yellow hat and reflected for a moment, running his rusty red finger across the V-shaped b

That is to say you would think it to be so, as in hindsight others might say it is more "unpredictable" than of the former. But when looking at the grand scheme of all the going-on's in your life to this moment, it hardly matters to you; every whimsical moment always created an unshakable vibe within you, slowly erupting from within your chest, electrifying, thrilling, spreading across your veins, digging beneath the fibers of every muscle in your body, making you sweat, making you foam at the mouth, making you jump out of your own shoes. And by the time the vibe fades away with the moment, you realize that a new accomplishment in your life has been made, you've been given another reason why life, with all the rotten

He was walking up the old stairs
And saw Melanie standing on the very last stair.
She smiled and pushed him-
-It was a long and painful fall.
He broke quite a few bones
And started screaming
As he saw Melanie running
With an axe in her hand.

NamelessA nameless creature jammed into a nameless space located in an unknowable location was all that stood between Experiment 726 and what he considered to be the Endless Stream of Creation itself. The creature was large and menacing, but seemingly beautiful to behold. Experiment 726 crinkled his eyelids at the creature that stood before him, frustratingly unable to comprehend all but the most simple adjectives about it. And yet… it was as clear as day and cold as night.Nameless2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Cold. That was something you could call it, 726 mused. It was one of a very limited number of describing words that he could muster about this impossible place, because no matter how much he looked or analysed anything, nothing seemed to make much sense.
“Why come here?” The nameless creature demanded. “And how? No creature such as yourself should even be capable of getting here.”
“I'm just lucky?” 726 tried. “I honestly don’t know.”

A wolf's lesson to all
A fire lights the forest night.
Throws shadows cross a tiny glade
One who would escape his life
Sits there wrapped within its chains
He hoped for peace within the forest
A chance to fill the void inside
Living life had lost its meaning
Crying in darkness he wished for a guide
Startled he was when the wind started blowing
Frighted he was when it walked from the night
It's body as grey as the smoke from his fire
And eyes of bright amber that glowed in the light
"Brother" it spoke in a voice like the mountains
Ageless and wise the words touched deep inside
"You're lost and alone and your heart is near broken."
"You asked and I answer now follow your guide."
He followed the wolf that had entered the clearing
It turned and it walked with a quick glance behind
Out into the woods and the night and the shadows
Guiding him onward but what would they find
They stopped at the edge of a silver lit plain
The wolf spoke again as he knelt by its side

Considering his wounds and the sick angle of his head, I hoped he wouldn't again.
My own body sang with a harmonious blend of anger and pain. The pain tried to keep me flat on the ground, but the anger seeped into my broken bones, forcing me to grasp and pull myself to my feet.
Seconds later, hands grabbed me from behind. Only the warm familiarity kept my sword from curving in a decapitating arc.

"N-No," Raph replied shakily. "He's- gone." His grip tightened to steady me; his fingers dug into one of my wounds, igniting a fresh wave of anguish. Two of us left... soon to be one, if my body spoke the truth.
I forced a defiant growl as Raph eased me against him, sliding back toward the ground. "I won't go gently. Let- Let me-,"

The large figure settled down in her bed, a nest of white sheets and miscellaneous soft items found around the lab. The room was small and safe, decorated only with a dusty bookshelf and a small, plain desk in the opposite corner. Forgotten, torn pages and reports littered the floor, text illegible and irrelevant.
The only light in the room was allowed access through the cracked and filthy window that perched in the higher half of the room; it was positioned so golden rivulets from the setting sun would spill through and over the nest.
The last red traces of a dying sun flitted over the once-pristine sheets that cushioned the great body of the Ninetales, and they trailed off the tufts of pale gold fur. The sun was below the horizon now, allowing the first few stars above to blink into view. A sphere of icy white appeared in the sky, brightening as the ball of fire sank lower and lower behind the di

The birds' joyous chirping brought back my smile, and I quickly crossed the bedroom to stand in front of the windows. Closing my eyes, I let the warm wind gently stroke my cheeks and play with my hair. Again, like ever so often back home, I was standing on my balcony where the stems of the roses clung, spiralling upward. When I reopened my eyes, I expected to see the familiar land that would stretch like an emerald carpet in front of me and the pale, yet pures
