London, England - 2013
English citizens fled in terror as laser blasts fired past them, hitting the road, cars, building walls, and anything else that rested on the street. At the end of the street were three large robots bearing the insignia of the Decepticon faction, firing lasers on the humans.
"Ha! Ha! Ha! Look at the puny fleshings run!" The grey one called Megatron called out as he fired from his arm cannon on several cars.
"Humans are so weak! They have nothing that can stop us!" the red and blue transformer called Starscream yelled out as the blue Deceptiton, Soundwave, unleashed sonic waves down another street, causing the windows to shatter.
"The energy from the power station has boosted our weapons to their maximum potential! The Autobots won't st

Rose felt something tap her cheek.
She abruptly came back to herself staring fixedly at the swirling wall.
"Ohh. I'm gonna be sick."
"I don't recommend it."
She realized she was laying in the Doctor's lap. Their left arms were bound together by another pair of armcuffs. He was cradling her in that arm, tapping her cheek with the other. She leaned back and looked at him. "You look like hell. What did they do to you?"
His long, serious face was virtually gray, his strange eyes dulled and his hair hung in limp locks.
"They siphoned off more of my Artron energy. I won't be walking through any walls soon," he tried to make light of it.
She shifted sideways, his arm curved around her, supporting her back, their bound arms curved around her ribcage.
He looked so tired. She raised a hand and set it to his cheek. He inhaled, and his eyes dilated.
His eyes became the world. She felt like she was falling in, like the whole universe could fall into those eyes.
Operation SearchlightYou ripped the tongue out my mouthOperation Searchlight7 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Replaced it with fire shower,
You came hissing your depraved war cries
Faces drawn like a slave to your lies;
Under the dark
Shaking your champagne bottles
You sprayed your froth- throttled
Me out of spark.
Gathered up my rivers
In pitch darkness
Starved my suns brightness.
Pulled out of my landscape
Like a picked-clean bone;
Cornered with no escape,
I died in numbers unknown.
You popped corks loud enough
To drown songs of my youth.
But your fire
Could only lick my feet;
I climbed out of the mire,
To lend fire to your funeral pyre.
In time I found and held a handle,
And blew out my first birthday candle.

Must we tarry over these things, when I've given you very clear instructions?"
Mr. House had a charming voice, just as the ghoul at the Old Mormon Fort had mentioned. Yet his half-condescending tone really irked me. Though he wasn't up-front with it, I knew the man...er, computer? whatever he was, really found himself above me. Just an hour earlier, he'd explained the situation, Benny, everything to me, requesting I go after Benny and get the package I was paid to deliver.

They were sitting back to back in a cell on the Zhaleen ship. The walls were a coruscating ripple of pearlescent color, like oil on water, the floor didn't look any more solid, although it felt like cold and hard like marble under her bum.
She twisted her wrists and the cartilaginous armcuffs tighten over her forearms hardening like bone until she stopped squirming, then they softened back into a more comfortable hold.
"It's no use struggling," the Doctor said behind her, "the bands are keyed into our nervous systems. The tenser we are, the tenser they are. Just relax."
"How am I supposed to relax? We've been arrested and thrown in an alien cell, the Tardis has been impounded, and the walls are giving me a migraine!"
"It's not the walls. It's the dimensional resistances."
Rose sighed and tipped her head back, resting it against his with a clunk. "You're as bad as your older self," sh

No one went near the bodies. Perhaps the reason no one went near her either was became she looked like them anyway. It was the end of another long day and Aris was exhausted. She had managed to touch three people and collected enough potential energy to last for three days. Despite that, she was angry and couldn't wait to get back to their headquarters, so she could relax, unwind and vent.
She glided down a narrow alleyway. She almost reached the abandoned building they were using as their Earth lair when a metal door opened and a drunken man staggered out into the alley in front of her. She cursed inwardly and threw her hands over her eyes when she felt her body solidify. She listened while the man stumbled into the rubbish bins and grumbled to himself. She heard his heavy breathing and knew he was right in front of her. Then, to Aris's horror, she heard the sickening sound of urine hitting stone and cursed again when she realized the drunk was peeing on her dress.
Right, that's it. No one urinates on me and gets away with it. She thought.
The man turned away and her body became flesh.

Greetings, dear reader, and welcome to this guide to evil!
Any ‘good’ Overlord (or Overlady, evil does not discriminate) needs to master the many intricate ways of evil, from controlling a minion horde, to the usage of terror and chaos on the battlefield, managing a harem (for many will want to share in your evil and wealthy glory) to the ‘entertainment’ of special guests and how to get the answers you want.
In this guide you will find chapters on each of these aspects of evil, and many more, for evil is a multi-faceted thing, like a particularly murderous gemstone.
To start this guide, we will look into the defining core aspects of evil, and those of the great God of Evil. Any true Overlord will have to identify which aspect they are most comfortable with, and must strike a good balance between them, one that works for their abilities and mind-set.
The three core aspects of evil are the aspect of Domination, the aspe

SCP-049 kills people it believes are infected. During a conversation with it, the doctor who first spoke with it made the assumption that the "Great Pestilence" it spoke of was the plague. This is perfectly agreeable, as SCP-049 takes on the appearance of a Plague Doctor. However some things do not add up. Firstly, the doctor's own assurance, that "no one here is infected". If it were the plague SCP-049 was sensing, it would be very apparent that certain people did have the plague, as the symptoms are very noticable. However, it is clear that no one is infected in the SCP Foundation, due to the lack of symptoms and, most simply, because the plague occurred several hundred years ago, and such an epidemic has not taken such a toll since then. Simply, the chances of someone infected with the said disease is very, very small.

Cultures and ConquestsCultures and ConquestsCultures and Conquests2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Greetings, and welcome back to another chapter of the Overlord’s Guide to Evil.
In this chapter we will be analysing the most common not-yet-exterminated cultures of the known world, as well as giving some advice on how to conquer these cultures! We will be looking at each culture, examining their basics, strong points and flaws.
For each culture we will be outlining three basic styles of conquest: the way of control, through direct mind control, political influence, trade alliances and more subtle control methods, the way of direct warfare, of siege weaponry and armies, and lastly the subtle, discreet ways of weakening a country through assassinations, spies, natural and magical ailments and stirring up unrest from within.
As always, this is merely a guideline, and actual conquests should be planned out properly, adjusted for available resources, current circumstances and personal preference.
Let us start with the dominant race, the humans
