(Modern AU Jarida): Truth or Dare
Summary: After a game of truth or dare, Merida does the impossible. She is now forced to go on a date with the person she hates most, discovering newfound feelings along the way that may forever change their fate.
Truth or Dare—that’s how it all started.
Merida was faced with a ultimatum between both—and knowing it was at the hands of the one and only Jack Overland—made it all that more terrifying. She stared at the bottle that was pointing at her, forcing her to choose her fate. Knowing Jack, he wasn’t going to make this easy on her. The smug look on his face told her that he already had something planned. Rapunzel, Hiccup, and most of their friends waited in anticipation.
“Have you decided yet, Slingshot?” he asked her, obviously amused towards her dilemma.
She gritted her teeth at him. “ Hauld yer horses!” she demanded.
“Oh come on, we al

North was busy creating a new ice-train. Christmas was still a few months away, but then again he has to deliver millions of toys to billions of kids. Everything was going just right until, bang! His office door slammed open, making his new creation crumble in his hands. "Ack! My train!" North turned around to see one of his yeti workers, "Ah, my friend. What is the matter?" The yeti burst out a line of frantic grunts and groans. North knit his eyebrows, "The Globe?" He walked past the yeti and to the Globe. The Globe keeps record of children of the world that still Believed, bad or good or naughty or nice. The Guardian of Wonder let out a hardy laugh and said to his worried toy-maker, "It is fine! Nothing is wrong with the Globe. Everything is in order, sure a few lights went out but that happens every day. Some stop Believing as more Believers come." As he walked away, the yeti huffed and looked at the Globe again, its eyes widened at what it saw form on the globe. Quickly, the yeti

The Winter Guardian sat under the tree, his eyes cloudy and distant as he looked up at the night sky. He inhaled slowly, the cold air refreshing his lungs. A heavy sigh escaped his pale lips as he closed his eyes, his mind wandering to the event that had happened just now.
“Can’t you see? It’s in her eyes! When someone talks about you, when she sees you- she loves you, and it kills her!”
He rubbed his temple as tears started to form in his blue eyes. Why must it be so difficult?
“Jack, is that you?” he heard a soft voice say, and he knew who it was. He looked up, and saw Rapunzel’s figure walking towards him slowly. Jack hastily stood and turned his back on her. Seeing her would only make things even more difficult.
He could imagine her hurt expression, and his heart ached. He cleared his throat and with heavy steps, started to walk away.
“Jack, where are you going?” he heard her ask, and he decide

Summary: The gang decides to go to a ski resort for a weekend, and with Jack and Merida there, things could never go as planned.
Merida struggled to step through the snow with her ski equipment on, complaining the whole time of how restricted she felt while wearing them. Everyone was already set off in pairs, waiting patiently for their lift to arrive. Obviously it had to be couples amongst their group of friends, only leaving her with one other person who wasn’t taken. She turned to the person in question, his grin indicating the fun he was about to have. This trip was proving to be a pain; it was bad enough that she didn’t even know how to ski; or ice skate; or even snowboard—everything about this weekend was against her element. Not for Jack though, he was a born natural for this stuff, and it annoyed her to no end.
They took a step forward after Hiccup and Astrid got on their lift, now waiting for Eep and Guy t

Shocked silence remained in the Workshop's atmosphere for quite some time. The newly dubbed Big Four looked at each other with surprise and confusion. Rapunzel broke the silence, "We're…the Four?"
"But…how's that possible?" Merida's voice was a bit shaken. "We don't even know each other!"
"And we're…mortals? Are you guys gods or something?" Hiccup added, his voice was also a bit shaken.
North let out a hardy laugh, "No! No, we are Guardians! We protect the children of the world! Both good or bad, naughty or nice, we protect them with our lives! But we are immortal."
"Then how could we help? We're just normal humans, we don't have any special powers or anything." Hiccup told North. He noticed that Rapunzel shifted around uncomfortably. "Don't we…?"
Rapunzel made a nervous laugh, "Nope!"
Tooth flew towards Rapunzel and said gently, "It's okay, Rapunzel, you can show us. We won't do anything to you, I promise." Rapunzel searched in Tooth's eyes to see if she wa
Imaginary FriendMerida sighed as she sat down on a bench in the deserted park. She looked around her, admiring the colours of the turned leaves. Autumn was such a beautiful season to her. A cool breeze blew, and she closed her eyes, relishing the cold. She heard the rustle of trees and the scrunches of the crisp leaves. “Jack!” she called out in delight, shooting up and throwing her arms around him. Jack laughed as he returned the hug, ruffling her hair as they parted.
“Hey, Mer,” he greeted as they sat down on the bench together. “How’ve you been doing?” he asked, and Merida shrugged.
“Okay, I guess. My mom keeps having mood swings, but nothing I can’t handle,” she replied. Jack raised an eyebrow.
“Really? Because last time I came you were crying your eyes out because of your mom,” he said, which earned a sigh from Merida. “Look, Mer, I’m

Hiccup sighed to himself as he played with his toy dragon in a corner. The other day workers had told him that Jack had come down with a really bad case of the flu and wasn't able to come. Who would play with him now? He sighed again, making his dragon do little jumps across the carpeted floor.
The toddler lifted his head to see who had spoken to him. It was the red headed girl from Scotland. It was strange to see her by herself, she would usually be with the blonde girl with the really long hair. Why would she be talking to him? All the other kids thought he was strange and always kept their distance. ''Hello.'' He mumbled, focusing his gaze on the dragon in his hands.
''Can Ah play with ye?'' Merida asked, sitting next to him without waiting for a r

She shut her eyes tight, fighting back the tears that formed and threatened to fall. It was all she could do to stop herself from crying. It was all she could do to stay strong.
A sudden gust of cold wind blew into the room, and she opened her eyes to see the familiar silhouette of a young man who was about her age- or at least, seemed to be. The white-haired boy flew in and sat down on the window sill right next to her, a wide grin on his pale face.
“Hey, Punz,” he greeted her, and she forced a smile. She didn’t want him to worry over her.

North came out of yet of another portal and made his team land on the green grass below. All he could see was forest and around him was a circle of huge menhirs that somewhat reminded him of Stone Hinge. He heard hoof-beats behind him. He turned around to see a large black and white Clydesdale horse. The horse skidded to a stop and threw off its rider as it got close to the menhirs. The rider landed right in front of North's feet with a hard and solid thud. It was a girl with long, wild, curly, fiery red hair wearing a dark green traditional dress, made of cotton, with stylish slits. Slung on her back was a brown long bow and had arrows in a brown leather holster around her waist. She cried at her horse forcefully, "Angus…!" Her horse, Angus, whined and got on his hind legs as if it was telling the girl to turn around. The girl froze and slowly looked over her shoulder at North; her light blue eyes widened and shot up to her feet. "Who are you?" Her voice was thick with a Scotti

As I slowly opened my eyes, I could tell that it was nighttime right from when I saw the moon, which was so big and shining bright in the sky.
I started to constantly shake and shiver, as if my body was just pulled out from the ocean, and I could still feel the ice cold waves of its' water.
I quickly realized I was laying down on an isolated beach, with both of my hands feeling the sand, and the waves of the ocean right in front of me.
Before I even began to get myself off the ground, I felt my whole body somehow being lifted higher, and I started to become a lot more scared.
My body suddenly stopped moving up in the air when I was facing the moon, and obviously, I was getting a much better look at it from up here.
"You have nothing to fear, child, because no one is going to hurt you, and you're going to be the light in a dark time to come in the distant future."
I looked down to see that there was still nobody around, so that must have meant that the voice I just heard cam

"Ah, there they are!" North's voice boomed as soon as the Four landed in the workshop. "How was Jamie?"
Sandy noticed uncomfortableness rising from the young Guardians. He made a question mark over his head.
Jack sharply inhaled before he asked, "Do you guys know a girl named Katelynn?"
North let out a hardy laugh, "Jack, there are thousands of Katelynns in the world! I need more detail than that!"
"Does West Salem help?" Rapunzel asked.
North ran his fingers through his beard. "Hm…that narrows it down a little bit."
"She lives in the same town as Jamie." Rapunzel added.
North thought for a second then snapped his fingers. "Oh! Is it Katelynn Odden?" Jack nodded. "I haven't heard her name for quite a while…why? Has something happened?"
'Odden? Sounds like 'Odin'…' Hiccup shook the thought away and answered, "Yes. She has been…"
"Kidnapped." Merida finished. "We went to her house after she…" She looked at Jack for the right word.

Jack landed on his feet in the backyard of a house, he shook his head when he noticed that Rapunzel's death grip on him didn't release. "Rapunzel?"
"You can let go now…"
"Oh! Sorry…" Rapunzel let go of Jack and untangled locks of her hair off of him.
"We really need to fix that hair problem of yours." Jack said behind a laugh. "Don't you think it's a little too long—?"
"It's fine." Rapunzel snapped.
Jack raised up his hands in defense and took half a step back. "I'm just saying." He looked around. "Where's Hiccup and Merida?" Just as he finished his sentence, Toothless landed right beside them. Merida had her teeth clenched and was somewhat shaking while she held Hiccup for dear life from behind. "I see that the flight didn't go so well for ya?"
Hiccup shrugged, "It wasn't all that bad."
"Well, Red-Head here tells me a different story." Jack responded while he poked Merida with his staff.

North shook his head. "I don't know, Hiccup…when I got all three of you, Pitch's darkness was taking your dimensions and as soon as I entered each portal, it was gone."
"Does that mean…?" Merida softly spoke.
"No, goodness, no! There is still hope that your families and homes are still there. It's just…" North search for the right word. "...Too dangerous to return to them until Pitch is defeated along with the other Negatives."
Rapunzel slightly rose her hand to get North's attention. "North, what did you mean by different dimensions?"
North grinned. "I'm glad you asked! You see, Rapunzel, you, Hiccup, and Merida aren't from this time period. In fact, you're all from absolutely different centuries! Rapunzel, you come from the 18th century, while Merida comes from the 10th century and Hiccup hails from the 12th century!"

Jamie let out a long, suppressed sigh after Jack's long explanation. It just turned dark once he finished, Jamie and the others had to move to Jamie's room so his mom wouldn't get suspicious. "So Pitch is really back? With others?" Jack nodded. "What's going to happen? How are you going to fight them? Can you fight them? Will everyone stop Believing again? What if I stop Believing—?"
"Jamie!" Jack gripped onto one of Jamie's shoulder. "Calm down. You'll never stop Believing in us. Ever. And don't worry; we'll get rid of them."
"But—! What about them?" He gestured at Hiccup, Merida, and Rapunzel, who were too busy tinkering with the TV and some of Jamie's gaming systems to pay attention to the conversation. "Do they even know what they're up against?"
Jack glanced over to rest of the Four then shook his head. "I don't know…" He sighed and straightened back up to his feet. "The Guardians and I thought Pitch would be gone for at least another six hundred y

“Relax, Hic. Everything is going to be fine.” Hiccup stopped pacing when he felt an arm drape over his shoulder and heard a hoarse voice comfort him. He looked up to see his best friend smiling softly at him. “I mean, you survived asking her, though just barely, so the actual thing will be fine.”
“But- But what if I don’t look good enough? What if she decides not to come? What if I throw up on her?” He voiced his worries one by one, and the latter sighed.

“Ugh, you,” the redhead said as her eyes fell upon the white-haired boy who was standing in front of her. He rolled his eyes.

The bell rang out as a flock of birds flew from the watch tower. Students bustled about, chattering with people they know, and some making new acquaintances. The sun rose high into the sky and a late summer breeze washed over the open area. A few students walked inside the building, while some were still making their way over on the path. However, one student remained behind on a bench, a freshman dressed in a white uniform. His pen slid over the pages of a tattered sketchbook. His tongue stuck out to the side a bit as his emerald eyes followed each stroke of the pen. For a moment, his left hand rested at his side, and the lad smiled at his work. His smile soon drooped as his pen went back to work, gliding over a few mistakes left behind from before.
“Hey! Stop that,” a feminine voice called from behind him. His pen stopped for a moment; his ears tuned in to the conversation budding behind him. Again, the voice continued,

Jack bows his head. She will not leave his mind. Now that he has once again taken a look at his memories, he knows why Merida could see him. Back in late summer, the last summer in his mortal life, they had met. She was only very young. He remembers everything so clearly and cherishes the moment when he had first laid eyes on his fiery princess. Could this be the moment they have been waiting for, he wonders. Longer than they had agreed, she has stayed a frozen statue in a secret hiding place. She has lost everything she knew and Jack is afraid that if she ever came back to life, she would never forgive him. He had taken away her family, her brothers, her parents and the normal mortal life she could have had. No, she will never forgive him. And who is to say it would even work? That she would even still be alive? Jack has visited her as often as he can manage. But who is to say she is even still alive?

I stare out of my window hoping that I will see him appear out of the darkness. I would beg his forgiveness and he will say it might take a while but he will in time forgive me. I would kiss him and confess my love... Then what? Live happily ever after like in the tacky love stories? No. That could never happen. For the first time that I can recall I found myself crying. I don't care if he will not forgive me. I don't care if the marriage goes off and he hates me. I just want to see him again. To see him smile like he used to. To hear his dorky laugh. However I can't help but think that the worse has come to him. I hear that many unsavoury types linger in those woods. Thieves and Murderers drag their victims out there for the kill. Not to mention the stories of vengeful sprits and ghosts. I glanced at the clock. Nearly 11pm. The search party should be back by now. Hiccup. Where are you? Are you alright? An image of Hiccup comes to mind. Of him lost, tired and confused.

Rapunzel was literally all over the place. She and Hiccup just finished painting the streets: Jack and Merida giving up early due they could only draw stick figures while Hiccup and Rapunzel showed off like a Renaissance artist. Then she'd run into a store and a few moments later, she'll be back out and go into another, despite the weird looks that she and the rest of the Four got (Jack said it was because they looked 'old-timish'). The rest of the Four were watching Rapunzel in amusement…until Merida caught something in the corner of her eye. She slightly looked over her shoulder and her lips formed into a wide grin, it was targets. And they were littered with arrows. "They have archery!"
Jack knitted his eyebrows in confusion at Merida's statement and turned to see for himself. She was right, they did have archery. "Huh. Well, that's new…Jamie never mentioned archery for the Spring Festival before. They usually have it for the Summer Festival."
Hiccup made a small, stif
