What are the themes?
How much do you care about popularity - ie. is it a project you're doing for

But let's start with...
Where do you get you ideas?

Files sizes and the reader performanceFile size does matter to a certain extent in how your book will perform in the reader.Files sizes and the reader performance1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Pages with lots of assets that have large file sizes may tend to slow down in the reader or take a little while to load.
The best rule of thumb is to try to keep the file sizes of your assets as low as possible without affecting the quality of the asset.
For images, use a .png for any image that contains transparent pixels (such as a character cut out of it's environment).
Use a .jpg for any image that does not contain any transparent pixels (such as a background image). Where a .png may be 2 or 3 megabytes in size, that same image will be about 500k as a .jpg and that savings will help your page perform better without reducing the quality.
For sound, try to loop sound where you can and fade out sound where you can. Instead of just playing a 2 minute long piece of music, try to make the melody loop, then move to the next looped melody at a tap point. This not only reduces file size

Getting into comics is something a lot of people want to know how to do, but there's a lot of questions you want to ask yourself first. There is such a vast array of genre and sub-genre, technique, approach, and so on, that it's important to be clear where you want to go with your work at the outset – and you have to be REALLY honest and tough on yourself.
Do you want to draw:
If you're into the capes and tights and you want to go mainstream you're going to have to want it incredibly badly, as the competition is the most extreme I've ever known it right now. There seems to be more titles than ever - and with the digital revolution more people are capable of producing sleek, mainstream quality art - but right across the

Why can't artist's be EXPECTED to experiment? To try new things? To be innovative?
Why is it that drawing in the same style forever is viewed as THE BEST approach?
How do we unlearn this?
How do we encourage creators to be daring, and our readers to be more open and daring too?
I admit it.
I chop and I change, and if you're looking for a book that is consistent then you'd better not invest any time in me! As a result I've lost many fans over the years. People at cons sometimes say 'where did you go after The Hulk? I thought you must have left the industry...'
They never knew I was always here, but always changing.
Case in point - 'Captain Stone is Missing...' (FREE on dA here: www.deviantart.com/art/Captain…) may be, in my opinion, the best work of my career, but consistent it is not!!!
For me there are artists tha

There was once a time when art depicting the lands west of the Appalachian Mountains as pristine wilderness awaiting exploration was censured by church and state as distracting from more important matters of the common pieties of home life. But there have always been those who need visions of grander realms for the journeys they can only dream of experiencing, but that may one day be rest stops on their great–great–grandchildren’s celestial road maps.

I don't think I've ever really looked into "Motion Books", and it's a shame, I think, because DA did collaborate with MadefireStudios to set that up for our use.
So here you will find several pieces from the Motion Books section that I hope you will enjoy!

Cornwall is one of those parts of the United Kingdom that’s never fit quite right.
Perpetually in rebellion against central British government authority on some level, the fires have now been banked in political debate over independence and home rule. Some international entities recognize Cornwall as a separate Celtic nation, and over 40% of the population when polled consider themselves “Cor

Top Community Feature Requests and Our ResponsesTop Community Feature Requests and Our Responses2 months ago in DeviantArt Announcements More Like This
In May, we introduced the DeviantArt Timeline as a method of communicating with deviants and providing transparency about what’s planned for our collective future. During the site simplification process that followed, we received a number of comments from deviants asking why we were working on the features presented on the Timeline instead of other things. Many of the features brought up in these comments are ones that have been requested for years. We want to be more transparent about these suggested features, why some of them haven’t happened yet, and why some of them may never happen.
These requests are from past Site Updates, the Suggestions Forum, surveys, and individual requests we’ve received.

Foal color Generator How to design a foal using a random generatorFoal color Generator5 years ago in Personal More Like This
If you ask me to design the foal for you, I will design it by picking the markings randomly. But I'll try to to this as realistic as possible. For example, two horses with a lot of white (wide blazes and stockings) mostl likely won't get a foal without any markings, and the other way around. So I modify chances to get a likely result.
It's a lot of fun to design foals this way, and very exciting. If you want to try it, feel free ^^
This is an example how I do it:
Sire: Murphys Law, Seal Brown Color Genetics: At a | E e
Dam: Miss X, Chestnut, A a | ee
I need [RANDOM.ORG] and a text document, for example Word.
The Base Color
First thing is to generate the foals base color.
On random.org, I fill in: Min: 1, Max: 2
I start with the Black/Chestnut gene: E / e.
Murphy has E and e, so the E gets No.1 and e No. 2
I press "generate" and Random.org gives me a "1", that means the foal

On March 1, 2012 the Nevada DMV issued the first license for a Google Driverless Car. The idea behind this innovation is that one day soon new technology will drive cars safer and more skillfully than humans, thus saving lives and billions of dollars in car crashes. How well this idea catches on is a bit questionable, given the powerful “romance” of driving one’s car, but it’s certainly an indicator of things to come in the daily intersection of human and artificial intelligence and mobility. There have always been those who have dreamed of stepping into a mechanical exo-skeletal-type “suit” and letting the engineering do the work, insta
