ARGP Related Generators / GuidesI've collected over time journals, deviations, and websites of helpful stuff for DARPG/HARPG. I do have these in my favorites but for my sanity I have listed them here in my journal for a much easier access and viewing. These are wonderful and helpful stuff to look at.ARGP Related Generators / Guides2 weeks ago in Personal More Like This
I will probably sort these out in a better category list at a later time. I just wanted to get these down quickly for myself.
If you know of any that I have not listed. Please link me. I would love to fave it and add it to my list. ^^

Fantastic Stock and Where to find it - Feature 17I’ve been making a collection of some of the brilliant stock artistsFantastic Stock and Where to find it - Feature 173 years ago in Art Features More Like This
works that I have come across. It started off as stock I can’t provide
myself so I look for other peoples so I can suggest them. The way I
choose is quite odd, when I see a stock image I have an instant image in
my head of what I could do or create out of that piece of stock. The
image also has to be crystal clear and easily altered.
Anyway, Check them out, I’m sure you’ll agree, just click on their deviation.

Space And Depth In PhotoManipulationsThis is a tutorial on Space And Depth and how to achieve it on a 2-D digital surface.Space And Depth In PhotoManipulations2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Space is an Element of Design, therefore, there are rules to create the illusion of 3-dimensional a 2-dimensional surface.
There are three ways to crate the illusion of space and depth:
1. By overlapping: When objects overlap, the top object become the closest object.
2. By using Atmospheric Perceptive: Objects in the nearest foreground are always the largest, clearest, and has the most detail. As objects move back into the furthest background, they become smaller, fuzzier, and have less detail.
3. By using Liner Perspective: Using the horizon line as the focal point, invisible parallel lines mov

Appreciation and some advice for beginnersI have had this journal in mind for quite a long time, thinking I will find a time to write it down after I find a job (so that I can give 'advice' as a professional ). I've been less active in the past weeks since I was on a probation in a game company and I thought I would make it this time, unfortunately today I was told I have to go back to job hunting again. Anyway I'm not gonna wait any longer since some of my fellow deviants have been asking for advice for a long time.Appreciation and some advice for beginners1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Before I start – my apologies if some points in this journal are not clear because of language, I am not a native English speaker.
I'm not giving these advice as a professional or an elite artist (I hope I was!), just sharing my learning experience and some personal understanding of conceptual design and arts. Please ignore or correct me if I got things wrong.
Ok. Some related information about myself – I studied computing at university, in my final year I found myself really lack of interests in programming or

"Sam Dead" from "The League of Elder"
Currently I find myself in a phase of making advanced use of colors in my work to enhance depth, mood and to underline certain values.
While doing so, I found a necessity to share this knowledge and insights in some kind of a reference. There are practical tips for everyday use, this post is useful for traditional artists as well.
When working in a professional environment there is rarely the time to go out and do plein-air paintings or studies, this is something artists have to do in their spare time, to form the foundations and understanding of perception of our environment. On the other hand it is extremely important to see processed works as well, to see the differences and to learn from these observations.
Basically, all knowledge artists have, is built upon passion and is acquired through personal experience, museum-visits, observation and anatomical studies have to be done
Tuesday Tips #1 Photographing your Art:iconRising-Artists: is here to help you become a better artist not only by connecting you with thousands of artists, but by also challenging you to drive yourself further.Tuesday Tips #1 Photographing your Art1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
Now we would like to start helping you overcome some tricky problems that we all see happen quite often on DA!
In this issue, we are going to discuss Photographing Your Art
Lets Start by first understanding the basics to a great photograph:
General Rule of Thumb for composition of a photograph: Use solid/semi solid backgrounds with not too much detail that would draw the viewer's eyes away from the subject of the photo (for this same reason, do not have other items in the foreground.) Natural Sunlight is as good as it gets for physical three dimensional (non-reflective) objects.
For Jewelry, and any crafted object with glitter/sparkles/reflection - Use a lightbox/softbox with Sparkler Bulbs!!
When using fill lights or extra lights in a studio/room, be sure to set the White Balance

Tutorial Treasury 05In the Tutorial Treasury, you will find tutorials geared towards Photomanipulators and some that will deal with a broader subjects, such as lighting, colour etc. The tutorials will be from dA as well as from all over the web and in each episode, there will be 3 to 6 tutorials for your reading pleasure (any more than that I guess no one will have time to read anyway). Know your Basics - TexturesThere are a lot of tutorials out there on how to create / photograph texture as well as how to use them on a technical level, but the question of why and when to use textures is rarely touched. This article wants to fill that gap and therefore looks at texures from a slightly different perspective.Know your Basics - Textures2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Textures in Manips as you know them
For a photomanipulator, the first thing that comes to mind when hearing the word "texture" are images that can be used in soft light or overlay mode to texture a manipulation or parts thereof. What most manipulators therefore have in mind, are images like the following:
Beautiful textures, sure, and useful, too, but have you ever thought of doing more with them than the aforementioned overlays? And have you ever considered using other kinds of textures, too?

Paint Tool Sai Speech Bubbles TutorialFirst you need a new line art layer and to use the vector tools provided. Use the curve tool and edit tool to create your speech bubble shapes.Paint Tool Sai Speech Bubbles Tutorial2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Below in red is where to find the line art layer. Click it to create a new line art or Vector Layer.
On the new line art layer, click four points in a rought squared egg shape like below in the large red square. Use the curve tool to make this shape. The curve tool is marked in a little red box to the left of the image below.
Now select the edit tool. Then from the middle of each point, click and hold then drag outwards to create a new point and deform your shape into a rough circle. You may need to change between your edit options to edit the shape. Translate should be fine to do most of the shaping.
Then you can use the curve tool to ad the speech bubble tail. That's all there is to making speech bubbles in sai. Of course you can draw
