Aha! I started this one last friday from 11pm to about 4am... and it went great !... it features 3 little cute kinda-ninja-like characters (Dodge men) who try their best to avoid the mouse pointer... so there's no real goal except moving the mouse around and see what happens... which is pretty fun in my opinion. Notice that Dodge men are a bit limited on moves yet, ill certainly update before long. So that's it... thanks to SebbyTheFreak for his tips (especially "put INTERACTIVE FLASH on your logo...)
EDIT: for the rough .fla of this, just look among my others deviations //... I also explain how you can set it as a desktop wallpaper in my journal
FULL VIEW OR YOU WILL GROW A NIPPLE ON YOUR FOREHEAD, AND IT WILL BE GREEN AND PEOPLE WILL GO LIKE "oh, you have a green nipple on your forehead, how perculiar..." (DONT DRINK WHAT COMES OUT IF YOUR GREEN NIPPLE STARTS LACTATING BTW)
You have to click to spawn a bouncicle, and move your mouse when clicking to make it more fun...
I'm trying to get them to bounce off each other as well as just the walls but im having problems with memory leaks, so here is just a simple clicky bouncy thing for you
Just a little test I made before creating Duell.
There's no loss of movement, so the balls will fly around eternal.
Throw the balls!
It's simple, but I thought it's somehow a cool toy^^ Download or Full View to play of course!
you have two options for viewing:
1) warped size and lots of lag: click download
2) the executable with minimal lag: which can be downloaded from [link] (I'd go for this option )
as soon as the dAv5 flash bug is sorted there will be no need for this exta confusion
anyway, this is as far as I have gotton now, keep in mind I have yet to draw any of the backgrounds and I intend to have some moving foreground items other than the grass for things like butterflies, so even the bits that are completed are still uncomplete at the moment.
the areas available to you are the western cliffs as before, the (somewhat extensive) Poaceae plains and a small section of the hopitite mines just before a large shaft which you cant see yet because the lift doesent work
just beyond the Poaceae plains will be the abandond town of Epacse, but as I havent decided what style the architecture will be I havent done it yet.
I would appreciate if anybody finds any bugs at all if they would let me know in a comment
also you may notice that this isnt going into the games category, although the methods of interaction are similar to many games, I think that the lack of objectives or any play 'mechanic' places it more in the area of 'interactive art' than a 'game'
and last but definately not least, the music is by , I heard it a few minutes before finalizing this preview and asked if I could use it. so please go and tell him how great he is and perhaps even download the tune [link]
The theme is fire, and this is my try... Everyone will prolly do a particle fire, or a use several frames of hand painted flames to simulate the fire... But I've seen that all over the net, and it's kinda too common... I wanted to do something different,,,
I've read a lot about the fire simulation, and after doin' several experiments on the subject, I realized that for the real simulation of fire we'd need a tremendous CPU power, especially if we want to do it through flash, so - I gave up on the idea, and instead of the realistic fire simulation I decided to do a cartoon actionscripted fire, and I think that I succeded in my intention, and if not, at least it's different than anything on the net about that subject
It needs some more tweaking for the best effect, but after the deadline, I'll release the source .FLA (the .FLA is released... get it HERE), so you can tweak it if you wanna, cuz I don't have any more time to invest into this lol... the most of the time I spent on optimizing the code (it runs on 29 out of 30 fps, with 150 stars and 70 flame_hair bits on screen), and commenting the code for the tournament
The whole file was somewhat smaller than 10Kb, and I needed to add a Kb or two, so you could also enjoy the preloader I made, I think it's sweeeeeeet ^^
Ok when the file loads, click the match, then hold the mouse down and scratch the match onto the scratchArea on the matchbox, light up the FireFella and flyAway...
Use the UP/Down arrows for acceleration/deceleration, and press the numbers on the numPad...
[up] = accelerate
[down] = decelerate
 = w00t
 = weee...
 = handbrake
 = fly
 = swim
Maybe there'll be more soon... if you have any ideas... shoot...
FULL VIEW OR LEOPARDS WILL HIDE IN YOUR SOCKS WHILE YOU SLEEP, THEN WHEN YOU WAKE UP AND PUT ON YOUR SOCKS BAM! YOU ARE MISSING THREE TOES!
whats this SDG in an actual game thing wtf!?! thats right, here is a 3D sdg running around my greystyle landscapes indefinately falling and looping, uses my platform game engine (the source to which is in my gallery if anybody wishes to use).
mostly just a test but I fully intend to make a complete world for you to run around in and explore deeper into the mystery of just who is sdg?
4/2/08 - Thanks to for being the 1234th person to this crazy game!!
2/16/06: THE BEARSOFT WEBSITE FINALLY HAS SOMETHING UP!!!! hahah granted, it's only stuff that I've already posted here, so it's nothing new to you guys... but it's SOMETHING dammit! hahah sigh
BUG FIXES ANDBRAND NEW EASTER EGGS!!!!!!
Helloo again Well guess what!! Not only did I fix two GLARING bugs in the game (sigh, I hope no one really noticed ), but I also added SEVERAL new easter eggs!! (if you're too lazy to find them yourself, click here to read how to find the new ones: [link] )
So yes, I hope you guys enjoy the new stuff, cuz I worked SUPER hard on them I pretty much killed myself JUST as much on these extra easter eggs as I did on the original thing!! damn me and my psycho perfectionist work-ethic/addiction to not sleeping!! >___<
But yes, I hope you guys have fun and/or get a laugh from the stuff I added!!
ps- I apologize for the slightly larger file as as a result of the newer stuff
sorry for editing again, I just wanted to say:
1) Thankies to everyone who faved and commented!! I actually got the daily top favorite earlier this week!! Hooray!
2) I wanted to fix the Ren and Stimpy quote, because I'm stupid and anal about things like that. haha
3) Here's a bigger picture of the model, Quackamoley (and some of my other friends): [link] I forgot to mention, he's huuuge
Soooo.... Here it is!!! ahahahah about EIGHT MONTHS after the matter of fact I've finally finished ~rurouniuno's kiriban prize!!! (YOU DIDN'T THINK I'D DO IT, DID YOU??? I TOLLLLD YA' I'D SHOOT!!! BUT YOU DIDN'T BELIEVE ME!!! WHYYYYY DIDN'T YOU BELIEVE ME??? ... *ahem* I mean, um: ha-HA!! to you!!! [wtf.])
Anyhoo, onto the actual description:
If you are confused, click the question mark button for help. If you are still confused, please feel free to comment, and the first available customer service ducky will be right with you.
100% of the graphics used in this game were drawn by me. (okay, well, I'm not counting the icons in one of the easter eggs, but that's just because they're supposed to represent other people; so okay, 99.9%. Damn nitpickers. haha) 90% of the graphics were done in Illustrator, 10% in Photoshop (the pixel art), and 84% in Badatmath Pro.
This game was entirely coded/actionscripted by myself. (a few tutorials were used from various sites, mostly FlashKit, but overall I came up with how to make the meters and the growing, etc., nothing like, SUPER SUPER specific that was blatently ripped off like "HOW 2 MAK UR OUN VIRCHULE PETZZZZ... PLZ RIP MAI IDEYA OFF CUZ I SUX AT SPELING KTHX" or anything like that.)
There are five easter eggs, although a couple of them are so easy to get that you might not even consider them easter eggs, haha note: I have made a list for those that don't want to be surprised here: [link] (and if you read the second comment, you can get a little more commentary on one of the easter eggs)
I've already included a sound credit list in the actual game, but just for the record... the jump rope whoosh is from apple/mac; the alarm clock noise, the pooping noise, the love twinkle, and the button click noises were all from FlashKit's freeware sound section, and the intro beep was from Nintendo.
Yep, so thanks again to for being my 1000th visitor , and everyone who visited in general, for the 1000 hits!!! .... and the 4000 hits that passed DURING THE TIME I was trying to FINISH this damn thing. hahaha
Aaannd, last but not least: Thankies x 3493485908345 to for being my super bug finder and consultant on this project!!! She probably almost killed me numerous times for how long I took to complete this damn thing, though
4/2/06: I changed some stuff, so I could be a good girl if you notice/like the changes, hooray! if you don't like them, I'm sorry I just didn't want to get in trouble (and risk almost 400 s ) and if you don't notice at all, then that's fine too
