Alright, it's Spiderman time! This is about how I'd draw him for Storyboards... except without the color....and never EVER the webs on his face or body!!! those things are way crazy and time consuming. This is how we'd love to draw him for storyboards, but we never have time, and it's honestly not really about the art, its about story! But every now and then, you want to get down go crazy on a board:D

Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy. Maybe I'll do some Avengers a bit later. I'm still trying to get a handle on those characters, but I think it'd be fun.

Laters.

This is a quick warm-up piece for today. Whenever I draw Peter, I try (if the script allows) always to think of what makes him "New York." I sometimes think that Marvel try's to make him an average teenager, which he mostly is, and is not a bad idea, seeing as he'll be read/seen by people all over the world. But there's some New York down in there. One of the things I love most about New Yorkers is that they know how to get everywhere on public transportation. So I put Pete on a bus.

enjoy:}

Oh, I forgot to say, the BG is digital... I just don't have the time I guess....

I've been working with Jonard Soriano and Dan Norton on some background samples, and this is one of them. I did this will visiting Warner Bros a couple of weeks ago. That place is awesome, BTW! I've been meaning to write a longer journal on my trip, but I've been busy. I got a chance to be an employee for a week, and learn the trade of American Animation. Because of some recent departures, I had my own work space, where I got down on this bad boy. I had tons of inspiration, Jonard has been in the business for like 15 years! That dude is my Mr. Miyagi......

I have a ton of other background drawings like this, but since they're based on real storyboards of some films that haven't even been solicited, I can't put em up here. Which also explains why I haven't been posting lately. I do have some other cool stuff, I'll put one up later today;}

Thanks for looking..

This is a panel from a short film that I was going to shoot this weekend. A bunch of stuff fell apart and we weren't able to do it. I may return to the project sometime in the future, but right now, I have a bunch of stuff on 'stove' right now.

This is part of some recent samples that I completed, and part of the western town that I submitted a little while ago. One of the tough parts about doing a western town is that it's pretty sparse in a lot of the areas, like behind some buildings. Growing up in one of our biggest city's, I'm used to structures that are quite cluttered, plus I'm a very detailed oriented guy, and I love to make drawings look complicated.

I got lots more that I'll update soon. But I gotta get started on "Introducing: Vol 2"

This is a portfolio piece that I did recently. I was going for some "Kweli" flavor, just making the drawing as simple as possible.

Sorry that I've been a no show for a while. I do have a few more things that I'll post later. The season is almost over, so I think I may have about a week of free time:}

I think I may have uploaded this before, but I re-drew it last year for this book that Top Cow was producing. This is for a comic that I was/am working on with publisher Filip Sablik.
I believe that every artist has that one project that they'll be working on forever, and Project: Chimera is one of those for me. Fil approached me years ago about the book, but it just never seems to get done. I think one of these days we'll have to produce it as a webcomic or something, but we both love the project, and the story is amazing! So enjoy the teaser cover, and hopefully you'll get to see the entire story one day! This is also the first cover that I ever did fully digital.
