Leave it to Pinkamena Diane Pie to mop up your worries, real or imagined, with a smile. But if your troubles are with parasprites, she'll also be needing a whole bunch of instruments to round them up. And no, you won't be needing an equal number of Pinkie Pies or other musically inclined ponies for that matter as she can play them all by herself. As to how exactly she can pull that off, who knows? Just keep a lookout for stray parasprites like Gummy's doing, or at least that's what I think he's doing. The stand, figures, tuba and accordion are carved out of Philippine mahogany while the gears, banjo, tambourine, harmonica and parasprites are made from Narra hardwood. The Parasprite wings are made with laquered tracing paper and the cymbals are from sheet metal. The figures are painted in enamel and protected by clear flat lacquer. Pinkie Pie stands at 5" and measured as a whole including the stand and instruments is 8 1/4" tall, 8 1/2" long, and 4 1/4" wide. The entire piece took 129 1/2 hours to complete.
While I was busy being unproductive, I thought I should finally take a picture of my personal pony plush collection to date. It's really great having them to welcome me when I come home after work. I really love them all.
All the plushies were made by and given to me as a gift.
4 days of 8-10 hours of work, 5.5m of minky and a couple wounds later Pinkie is now complete. She stands at about 55" (4.5ft) from her hooves to the hightest part of her mane and weighs a whooping 15lbs. As pictured, she can stand unaided thanks to some cushioning foam inside of her(to learn how I did it check this journal: fav.me/d5y04oz ). Her eyes and cutie mark are satin stitched instead of machine embroidered because they were too big for my embroidery machine. The lines and details in her mane were also satin stitched.
She can't support a person's weight. That would have required her to have a solid frame inside of her, making her dramatically less cuddly
No, she's not a giant 'puppet'. I don't make those kinds of plush.
GIANT PLUSH FAQ ANSWERS -This particular Pinkie is not for sale. -I am willing to make giant plushies, but note that they start at $1000 and the price depends on the complexity. Yes it's a lot, but you're looking at a massive handmade plush not a manufactured product. -Shipping is also not included, and $250-$300 should be expected for shipping only. Giant plushies are shipped in giant boxes through UPS. -No I do not give away/sell/share my patterns, sorry.
To get a few questions I know I'll get out of the way: Pinkie is a commission so she's not for sale. The starting price for ponies this size is $1000+shipping and varies depending on the character's complexity. No I do not give away/sell my patterns. EDIT: Because I've also been getting a lot of 'how are you gonna ship this??', here you go: she can and will be shipped in a giant box through Purolator/UPS/FedEx edit again: Yes, $1000 is a lot. But think about what you're looking at, it's a 4ft tall plush! Not only do giant plushies like this cost a lot to make in the first place, I have to spend a lot of time working on them. I don't make a ridiculous profit off a large plush like this like some people seem to think. I just make enough to pay for the materials and my living expenses.
I don't usually post WIPs on Deviantart, but I think I'll make an exception for this one ahah
So yeah, just a kinda big Pinkie. 4ft tall, so far she weights about 15lbs and she doesn't even have her mane and tail yet. Her eyes and cutie marks are satin stitched because they were too big for my embroidery machine. Her head isn't attached yet, I'm just holding it in place. Right now the body can stand on its own, but I don't think she'll be able to stand once her head is attached. Can't wait for my fuschia to come in, I want to give her hair! xD
Oh, and I also used a darker shade of pink than usual by request from the commissioner. I like how she looks with this color!
