By her goldenrod shores, our voices sing no more.Goldenrod. That was the colour of the beaches of our homeland, the colour of our skies when the sunset and when the day gave way to the night. It was a near gold that represented how we felt before everything began.By her goldenrod shores, our voices sing no more.6 months ago in Short Stories More Like This
It represented our happiness, it represented the peace that surrounded us. However, now goldenrod meant nothing to us but memories of the time before the horror.
Our skies were black. The beaches ran with tides of crimson from the flesh of the fallen. The colours of our towns had turned to grey. We had been free but now we were shackled.
The nation we call our home, Ivari, rests on the coast between two much larger nations. The first, “our enemy”, is Anatolia to the west. A vast nation that is separated from Ivari by a stretch of water known as the channel sea, they are the invaders.
To our east, bordering us on the land is the Talrey Empire. They went to war with Anatolia, and saw us as a strategic weak point for invading forces. Our government became pressured

While the contents of this story are completely fictional (as they take place in 2019 AD) I am aware that not everyone likes reading things with certain content. That said, this story does contain terrorist acts, as well as varying degrees of violence. This is a story set on an alternate Earth inhabited by anthros, or 'furries' if you prefer that. It is a military story, and this is just a small preview of larger things to come.
LIBRA 2019 - Prologue: Fall of Berlin
By KitsuneShukko/Jeremy Gillis
November 9Th, 2019
A day intended to be a celebration to the day the Berlin Wall fell thirty years prior, a day where floats and bands would be parading down the streets to fantastic music from across the world, when planes were meant to stream across the sky and be tailed by colorful clouds. It was all meant to symbolize peace, unification and the end to an era which had brought the world near its end decades ago and

Chapter I: Part II
November 10th, 2019
Sirens filled Adelaide's ears along with the cries of fear and the smell of smoke. The ground around her was wet, her fur soaked as she was splashed by what appeared to be a broken or rather partly dissolved pipe. As far as the vixen could tell she was lying on her back, looking up ward towards the open sky despite the fact that she was sure that she had not left the maintenance tunnels of the London Underground.
It was as if a bomb had gone off and sucked a small portion of the city down into hell itself. The buildings and people had been wiped from exsistance all at once and what remained in the epicenter of the disaster just collapsed into the crater.
Her blue eyes struggled to adjust to the light as she pushed herself up, reaching around her for some sort of weapon. It wasn't long before she came into contact with her rifle, or rather what was left of the barrel sitting on the edge of the slab of concre
Two WorldsI have lived fifty long years. Two Worlds2 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Each and every second was filled with unbearable pain and suffering.
Every minute I lived someone died.
I grew up in a world that had been ruined in an attempt to save it from evil.
I was taught how to use various firearms and to excel in many different forms of combat.
My mother died when I was young, I lived out my years with a murderous father protecting me and the people that we cared about.
We made sure our home was defended.
Fifty years I have lived, and I was tormented by everything.
Unlike so many others I have stepped between two different worlds, quite literally.
Mine is a damaged planet struggling to rebuild after the defeat of a twisted military corporation.
The other is the one who is better off. Its countries prosper and economies boom and they seem to have no worries or ills compared to us.
I have loved and lost in both, seen the same person die twice in different ways and stood there because I knew I wasn't going to be able to save them.
