Apparel Collection: Deviant CursiveToday, I'm thrilled to tell you about Cursive. This design was a definitely trying, but it worked out well in the end. Plus, I had fun in the process and want to share with you this little art tip. Move your whole body as you draw for fluid strokes and dynamic lines. It really works and I had fun practicing that technique during this piece.Apparel Collection: Deviant Cursive3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Sometimes the simplest pieces take the most time to perfect. It's one thing to draw a word all crazy and let the color scheme carry it visually, but to write words in an elegant form can be difficult to perfect. You'll see throughout the story of this piece many iterations the piece went through. I think I wrote this out over 100 times before I felt that it had the right essence.
The concept started in pencil, using many variations of letter forms and fonts to see if one of them would catch my attention. Script styles quickly caught my eye, but I was not sold on which medium to use. So I explored many.
I went through page after page of co

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die."
—Roy Batty, BLADERUNNER
Every time we open our eyes in the morning as each new day breaks, two worlds flow forth, each penetrating into the other, as the celestial portal gate separating them is once again raised. One’s inner world, of mind and being, pierces the outer world of light and raw data, seeking to hunt and gather mental sustenance. The outer world floods into our minds like a data tsunami, seeking to reconfigure the secret landscape of last night’s perfectly crafted dream state. Both worlds do battle to rearrange and make sense of the other. It is the yin and yang, by which we create and recreate the world – and the world invades and recreates each one of

FIRST CONTEST 'THREE TO TANGO!'Hello My Fellow DeviantsFIRST CONTEST 'THREE TO TANGO!'4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Our first contest theme is:
THREE TO TANGO!
The theme is challenging. You have to draw an artwork using ONLY THREE COLOURS. Sounds fun right?. You can use different shades of the three colours but not distinct shades. For example, you cannot use sky blue and navy blue colours and claim them to be in one colour category.Black and white colours are not including in this category. You can use them along with the other three colours. I'm giving this leniency since it's our first contest .
The contest rules are as follows:
1. The colours can be of your own choice.
2. The number of colours should exactly be three.
3. No black and white artworks. For traditional artists, use colour pens or pencils etc.
4. The contest is for MEMBERS ONLY!
5. One deviation per member.
6. Backgrounds are not required but favourable.
7. Artwork can be digital or traditional.
8. No lineart or WIPs.
9. The work should be at least 75% yours. Do giv

How To Give Better Comments
During our visit here at deviantART, upon submitting our deviations, what is expected next? Comments! However, here's a little fun past-time activity: take all the excellent, if not better, deviations comments in your gallery. Now take a look at all the deviation comments you've ever received. You will notice that good comments don't happen as often as they should. Although we all want good comments and to be better commenters ourselves, we have to act upon it instead of just sitting around and hoping to receiving nice comments after submitting something. Give, to receive.
Here I show you the basic concept of commenting, to make yourself a better commenter; and I don't mean being a 'good' commenter since everyone comments in his or her own way. That i

How should I price my art?Hi,How should I price my art?4 years ago in Personal More Like This
If you spend a lot of time in the DA forums, you will see this topic spring up again and again. Whether you want to earn a living doing freelance art, or you just want to do an occasional commission, the following guidelines may help you. For the purposes of this journal I'm going to assume that you developed sufficient skill for potential clients to want to purchase your work. If that is not the case, then get back to studying and practicing
Why is it so difficult to choose a price? Why can't someone look at my art and tell me what to charge? Because your ability to sell something is not just a matter of assigning a price based on your skill level! If three people can draw the same drawing with the same level of skill, one might be able to sell the art for $10, another might be able to sell the art for $100 and the third might not be able to sell it at all depending on how good they are at "marketing" (seeking out or attracting the best clients and convincing them to bu
