Third panel alone would make a joke. I'm too ambitious.
It's "Swarm of Century" reference (episode 10 season 1)...
[All hate comments will be hidden, please don't respond to those people. I didn't like the finale either but being obnoxious, hateful and calling me names won't make things any better. If you want to express your opinion about it go to my journal [link] and tell me.]
If you see any errors, tell me immediately so I can fix them. Inb4 Twilight doesn't have wings.
Sketch for this comic was ready almost immiediately after I drew the first one. However, since it's directed at fandoms behaviour, I wanted to wait until the dust settles before finishing it... Haha, who am I kidding. I'm just lazy. Have some Discord.
I know artstyle is different from the other one. My excuses: Serious and Witty. --- Author of this comic wants to apologize if any content displayed makes you feel uncomfortalbe. Apparently Trixie has been practising under a rock.
To be continued...
There's one curious thing about how this comic had been made. Again, a result of my experimenting. I wonder if you'll notice what that might be. Anyhow, Trixie returns once again and runs into a surprise that she, probably as the only pony in Equestria, was not aware of. But why does she talk so much while exposing her evil scheme (not to say 'plot')? I guess we'll find out later.
You know what's really bad? Coming up with something on your own only to find out that it's been done a long time ago: I feel so lame and I'm surprised no one criticised me. Why, More Like This? Why? Oh well, I hope my idea for the second part is in fact original.
Created with the inkpad app for iPad. MLp:fim (c) Lauren Faust and Hasbro art by me.
Eeeyup pinkie is breaking the 4th wall in the first 2 panels
So... I made this small (not really small, but kinda rushed) comic actually to practice the shading thing (it's really difficult). I normally don't have such a ego but this is new to me and I think it looks (quite) nice.
Here is a [link] to panel 4 as solo panel drawing whatever
Okay, I admit that I had speculation about Twilight Sparkle being an Alicorn at some point even before the rumors and spoilers of the 3rd season finale, "Magical Mystery Cure." Now, I don't have a problem with Twilight being an Alicorn; I just have two main issues to deal with after watching this episode: the pacing and how this will affect everything in the show itself.
By pacing, I'm not talking about the episode itself (I mean, I think there were a lot of things crammed in there in a 20-minute cartoon, but that's not the issue I'm addressing), I'm talking about the pacing for Twilght's transformation. Overall, I think this is too soon to happen. Yes, there have been signs about Twilight's ultimate destiny from the moment Princess Celestia choose her as her protege. But I don't think Twilight has spent enough time in Ponyville to learn everything there is to know about friendship and magic, well a majority and important aspects of friendship and magic at least. I mean, it's been what, one or two years ago since her arrival? There isn't an official timeline to follow through, but considering they've just completed 3 seasons (or in my case, two-and-a-half since they only produce 13 episodes in Season 3), that still feels a bit too soon for a momentous occasion to happen like that. Heck, I thought that this episode was going to be the very last one of the series, which would make it sound like the creators were trying to wrap it all up before the show is cancelled. Fortunately enough, that didn't happened. But still, 13 episodes? Why?
Despite the sudden transformation, my biggest worry for the show itself is how this will affect the main characters themselves now that Twlight is a princess. Since Twilight will have many important tasks ahead of her, will this drive a wedge between her very best friends? Will Princess Twilight have the time to hang with her friends and go on incredible adventures while also maintaining her royal duties? I don't know. Oh, and let's not forget about the possibility of her newfound immortality. Celestia and Luna are pretty much goddesses in the world of Equestia since they have been alive for thousands of years. So will Twilight also live for that long, and if so, does the show's creators have any idea on how all this will affect her or her friends, especially when she will outlive them all? I don't even want to think about that!
But you know? What can we do about it? What's done is done. I'm just happy enough that My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is getting another season (and hopefully with 26 episodes this time). Besides, maybe I'm overthinking these things, after all, this show is intended for children after all. Plus, there are other possibilties to consider on what the new season might bring for us. Other than getting an inside look at what it takes for Twilight to be a princess, the show might have some more character development for her friends; especially Rarity. Seriously, why didn't she get her own episode in the 3rd season? This would have never happened if they just added 13 more episodes to complete this season like they should have.
Oh, and despite treating Trixie as a joke in this comic, I really do hope she can make more appearances in the next season. She has a lot of potential to bring forth, like for example, what if Trixie was Twilight's new student or something like that? And speaking of which, you know what I would really like to see? What if they made an episode filled with shorts dedicated to some of the fans' favorite background ponies, such as Vinyl Scratch, Octavia, Lyra, Bon Bon, and of course, Derpy? Especially Derpy.
Okay, I think I've bored you enough with my insights and rambling as of now. My point for this comic wasn't just to provide humor for my readers; it was to put forth my own thoughts about what I think about all of this sudden change, and despite all that, I do have hope for what is yet to come in the next season.
Background images in Panels 1, 2, 4, 7, & 8 are cropped images from "Ponyville Road Side View" [link] created by BonesWolbach.
I'm almost certain that this is how the royal sisters would spend their newfound free time. Maybe.
Hope you enjoyed!
I fixed a few errors on this since I first posted it. The last panel originally had Celestia wearing the sleeping mask but for some reason I really just liked how happy they both looked with their eyes visible ^^
What if, instead of creating her own friendship magic to solve the problem of Starswirl the Bearded's unfinished spell, Twilight took the easy way out and just kept casting it until the ponies' cutie marks were on the right way round again? Well I guess Princess Celestia would be all like "TWILIGHT I AM DISAPPOINT". 'Cause that's kinda the magic equivalent of "solving" a Rubik's Cube by taking it apart with a prybar and reassembling it.
(Actually, the episode implies that the spell mixes the Elements of Harmony randomly instead of just cycling them, and there's actually a 119-to-1 chance against the spell actually putting them all the right way round at any time, but I ignored that because that would make the cartoon waaaaaaay too long!)
EDIT: Hiya, Equestria Daily!
EDIT 2: For the record, I loved "Magical Mystery Cure", and no I don't seriously think Twilight should have done what she does in this cartoon. It's just a joke, people. :}
EDIT 3: That means I DON'T wanna hear about how you thought the episode should have gone this way because it would be sooo much better than that dumb ol' "Twilight gets to grow awesome wings" ending. Keep it to yourself!
Why does art take so long during the school year? Oh well, at least the finale is still somewhat relevant. Fanon Lyra is probably the only pony who would actually be disappointed in this situation. Yet another reason why she holds a special place in my heart(strings). I really hope she appears in Equestria Girls; it would be interesting to see how a humanized Lyra would act.
