Several Years After The Defeat Of Nightmare Moon...
The Final Frontier
(Filled With Infinite Magical Energy)
"Space... is... awesome."
Twilight Sparkle's smile was nearly as huge as the celestial body she'd just managed to teleport herself to. Barely able to contain her giddiness, she levitated her communicator out of her saddle bag and spoke into it.
"Mission Control, this is Sparkle One, do you copy? Over."
Some time passed before the communicator crackled to life, and a reply was heard. "Huh? Twilight, is that you? What's a 'Sparkle One?'"
Twilight giggled and sighed. "Oh, Spike. Sometimes I swear you have no sense of atmosphere. But we'll chat about that later. The spell was a success! Mission accomplished! I'm here!"
"Whoa, you mean it? You're..." Spike's voice crept to a whisper. "...you're on the moon?"

“What is it Luna?” Came a call from the landing just above the young alicorn.
“Tia I’m huuuuuunnnnnnnnnngrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyy!!!! Can you make me something to eat?” She reached the top landing and made her way into the room where she found Celestia sitting at a table, an open book floating just a few inches away from her face.
“Why don’t you make yourself a sandwich?” Celestia said without looking up from her book.
“I can’t, you know mama doesn’t want me using knives, even with my magic. I’m too young.”
“Then have one of the guards make you one.”
“No, they never do it right. Can’t you make me a sandwich? Please Tia? You make the best peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in all of Equestria.”
Celestia sighed and pla

"The spirits of the Elements of Harmony are right here!"
Applejack wasn't sure what Twilight was talking about, but she knew the unicorn needed her help, and as she took her place beside her newest friend, she knew she wasn't going to back down now. The little piles of stone at Nightmare Moon's hooves began to glow with a mysterious light, much to the dark mare's bewilderment. "Applejack, who reassured me when I was in doubt, represents the spirit of Honesty!" Twilight continued. Several stones began circling the orange earth pony, glowing with a strange orange light.
Twilight continued to highlight each pony's strengths, from Fluttershy's kindness to Rainbow Dash's loyalty. Another orb appeared in the air above her and transformed into a magnificent crown. Together, the six ponies unleashed the magic of the Elements of Harmony, stripping Nightmare Moon of her dark powers once and for all.
The effort took a lot out of them, but it didn't take them long to recover. "Gee, Twilight,"
Dinky Doo's HomecomingDinky slowly trotted down the steps after her bath, if what she'd just experienced could be called that. At this inn, a bathtub seemed to be a large metal tub usually used to hold fruit that had been filled with almost hot water. But it had been enough to get the grime out of her hair, and the light peach scent from the harvest gave her a pleasant enough scent to her hair, mane and tail.Dinky Doo's Homecoming4 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
Stretching her sore body slightly, the teen mare looked about the inn to see it had filled with some more guests. In the corner sat four griffons, their large bodies casting a shadow from the light of the setting sun as they played a round of cards. At a table next to the door, an elderly pair of pegasi sat nibbling on a salad together with a look of love for each other still shining in each other's eyes.
And by the bar, a colt no older than her sat with a lute tuning it likely in the hopes of earning a night's rest.
The older teen mare chuckled to herself, then paused in her tracks. A scent was waftin

Twilight gently eased herself down from the warm confines of her bed. Four hooves touched down almost soundlessly on to the hardwood floors below. With great care, she made her way blindly to the door that led out to the balcony. Even through the dark, the task was simple enough. She could lend that to years of repetition; years of walking through this very room. Not much had changed since she had moved here. A delicate purple light illuminated the hooked handle and the door opened inwardly. From the doorway, a soft breeze ruffled her graying mane and she closed her eyes momentarily to enjoy the soft caress.
She trotted out into the night as quickly as her weathered legs would allow and toward the balcony's edge. Since moving back to Canterlot, this balcony had become her favorite spot, only next to the palace's library, of course. She rose creakily to her hind legs, her fore hooves draping over the railing to steady herself. From here should could see the twinkling lights of Canterlot
Twilight's regretShe had worked hard this week. As much as she'd grown used to it, she still felt tired at the end of every day. Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Equestria. It had been many years since she had ascended to the role of Princess, becoming an alicorn in the process, and still the change had never stopped shocking her. The level of magic she had been able to achieve since her transformation was astounding. And not only that, but ponies from far and wide came to view her as a teacher. It brought a smile on her face to see young colts and fillies come to ask her questions and learn from her. It reminded her very much of how she was when she was their age, learning from her own mentor.Twilight's regret2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
But it was not merely new experiences that this title had afforded her. In her years since her coronation, she had also experienced many physical changes that came with being an alicorn. The most obvious of which was, of course, her size. She had grown quite tall, towering over almost any other pony in Equestria, m
Surprise PartyJust one last tree and this row will be done. Applejack lifted her rear legs and gave the apple tree a buck causing apples to fall into the buckets. She smiled as she looked over the orchard of her home, Sweet Apple Acres. There was still much more work to do, and the sun was about to set. 'I best not get myself too far behind,' Applejack thought. She gathered the few stray apples that missed the buckets and loaded the buckets onto the cart.Surprise Party4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Those buckets were heavy. It made her mad that her big brother, Big Macintosh, could carry three full buckets on his back, while she could only manage one at a time. 'Not today big brother.' She grunted in exertion and managed to get two buckets on her back. She strained to stand and walked slowly to the cart. She began to slow down due to the weight of the apples, so with gritted teeth she pushed herself harder. 'Come on Applejack, you ain't the most dependable of ponies for nothing.'
Applejack walked around the cart and lowered herself to set dow

Big Macintosh bounced lightly on the tips of his hooves, his deep, gentle voice coming out in a singsong rhythm to the giggling accompaniment of his son Bud, who sat perched on the massive stallion's broad back fluttering his tiny apple green wings. "This the way the ladies trot, so do we, so do we..."
He shifted his tempo to a more strident hop, which in turn caused the little orange maned foal to escalate from giggling to cackling. "Here comes a country colt, hobbledy gee, hobbledy gee!" He finished the rhyme with an emphatic bounce on his hooves.
The huge red stallion stopped and looked over his shoulder, blinking in consternation as he suddenly realized that Bud was no longer sitting on his back. He cast his panicked gaze around the barnyard of Sweet Apple Acres, looking over to Fluttershy, who sat on a rocking chair on the porch with Bud's twin sister Blossom cradled in her forelegs contentedly drinking from a bottle. The butter colored pegasus gave he

The rich velvet curtains by the doorway rustled imperceptibly, parting and falling closed as the princesses settled themselves on an elegant divan and motioned Twilight, Rarity, and their companions to make themselves comfortable on the richly brocaded cushions scattered about the opulent lounge suite reserved for the royal sisters and their guests.
Princess Celestia gave her prized student an encouraging smile and gave a bob of her tapering horn. "Now, Twilight, what is this matter that you and your friends would like to bring to our attention?"
At her side, Princess Luna sat with a look of guarded interest on her dusky face. "Yeah, lay it on us."
The scholarly unicorn mare smiled back, and her violet eyes began to gleam as her horn sparkled to life. "Well from the last time you watched her, i say she has taken quite the liking to you, so whenever i must go and travel far, she wants to see you. So, this is her first time being here in her young state. Um, you don't mind do you?" Princess Celestia explained.

Ditzy Doo paused in making dinner, the grey pegasus's body stiffening as her eyes widened in shock. Turning, she looked at her daughter Dinky Doo and blinked slowly. She held her breath for a moment, slowly counting to five before letting it out. In her head, she had known this day would come, but she had hoped her little filly would be older.
Ditzy Doo knew about how the other foals made fun of her due to her mother being 'special'. As cruel as the foals Dinky's age were, they would grow out of this stage eventually. The real painful barbs were from the mares and stallions around town. The aghast looks and the back-handed compliments towards them both when they were out shopping or having dinner. The whispered conversations and darting looks. That hurt them both far more because at times they would even say such things to their faces.
But they long ago stopped letting it phase them. Dinky knew all too well her mother understood and comprehended far more than t

Six saw the elite aiming his rifle at the slipspace drive on the pelican. She shot his arm with her pistol, and the weapon flew out of it's grasp. The elite roared in pain and glared at her. It pulled out a plasma grenade with it's good arm, and activated it. Right as soon as it was getting ready to throw it at Noble six, a spray of ammunition shot through it's head causing purple blood to splatter everywhere. The grenade plopped onto a grunt that stood behind it, and it ran screaming towards it's comrades. The whole group exploded in a flouresence of blue.
Noble six gave Noble five, Jorge, a thumbs up for his assist and he nodded.

Raindrops and Cloudchaser escorted the small, sodden cumulous overhead, the trailing runoff from the overloaded cloud splashing ponies on the ground as the two pegasus mares made a bee line for the circular burnt patch with its speckling of stubborn flames. The pale lavender weather worker took hold of the cloud and guided it in a figure eight pattern as her bright yellow partner hopped lightly on its crest, sending cascades of water to quench the remaining fires.
Soarin, Pip, and Spike touched down next to Twilight and the Apple sisters as the patrol pegasi went about their work. With a nod of satisfaction, the spotted earth pony stallion tugged a cord on the harness and caused the wings to refold themselves with a clack. "Well ladies, I think we can suffice it to say that the flight harness has performed admirably under duress."

No words can hurt me
You are my light
My sole candle
For your smile is all I need to
Carry you wherever
In my life I have faced it all
Carried burdens, endured hardships
Remained strong, held the tears inside
Never let you end up the same path
It's all I wanted
It shines through
I couldn't answer what went wrong
Nor do I want to hold you down, nevermore:
To help you shine brightest of all
I'd gladly give away my wings
I've tried my hardest to be the mother you'd deserve
Try understand, I only wish for your happiness
"Please mom, don't cry, I don't blame you
No child could ask for kinder mom, warmer home.
Even if world turns against us
I'll always love you, kindest of all mothers."
Luna's Best Night Ever: 4The punch was cool and refreshing, if a little bland. Luna sipped it slowly and watched the other ponies at the party as they chatted and played. The music, some new style called "pop" that she had never heard of, was playing loudly and served as the backdrop for the event. The cheerful melodies reflected the happiness that everypony else was feeling. Luna finished her glass and refilled it for the third time, taking another bite from one of the cupcakes forming a neat stack on her plate. Neither of the other two Elements present at the party had manifested a focus for their power, which made it all the more troublesome that the pink mare had apparently called hers forth. She decided to ask Twilight once she had the nerve again. After having studied the Elements for so long under Celestia's orders she'd surely have some sort of explanation for it, especially if it was innate magic like that of a unicorn. She was so lost in thought that she collided with something soft and purple. She blinked and found herself face to face with Twilight's flank. Twilight turned to look at her, eyebrow raised. I observe its wonders
My heroes' paths which to follow
I'll walk on the highest clouds
Where the rainbows were created
Not carried on back
But by my own strength
One day I will fly
One day my wings embrace the sky
I'll ride the wind and rise high to the clouds
I'll rise and make my path
My mark on the Heaven's Vault
Dreaming I plan my ways
The deeds I'll fulfill
When older I can reach the sky

Follow my heroes and carve my own path
Carried by dreamer's wings
I'll soar in the Heaven's Vault.

The one defining moment in her life. The time when all her friends and family gather around to celebrate that she found her special talent in life. The moment that she realizes what she is meant to do to help all of Equestria.
Dinky's had postponed hers for almost two years as she prepared for her journey. For most ponies, a Cuteceñera was a time that they were declared an adult by Equestrian standards. But today was also bittersweet for the young filly. Pacing nervously outside of Sugar Cube Corner while all her friends inside were having fun, the young unicorn looked to her mother as she spoke with a twinge of fear and worry in her voice. "Mom, will you be okay after this? I may be gone for a long time..."
Ditzy Doo reached out with her forehooves, grasping her daughter's face as she leaned forward. Resting her brow to her daughter's, the grey Pegasus' eyes brimmed in tears to show the sadness mingled with hope this day held for her. "My mu

"Good evening." Luna greeted Twilight as the young unicorn stepped onto the same balcony as the princess. It had been just beyond their rooms, facing slightly off of south, giving a few of the city below. Canterlot had not fallen asleep yet; carts traveled to their final destinations of the day, couples went about for dinner, shopkeeps began to close up for home. Twilight bowed her head in greetings as she stepped out.
"Celly dotes on me so, it's a little embarrassing." Luna looked past Twilight to the two guards nearby. Twilight gave a nervous smile. She wondered - was this Celestia trying to protect her younger sister, or protect others from her little sister?
"How are you feeling?" she asked to shift the conversation. So far, Luna, while soft-spoken, didn't seem so poorly. Her opinion shifted slightly when Luna hung her head and let out a long sigh.
"So tired. And the night hasn't even begun. Once upon a time I relished this time of day, if only because I knew at least for

On the other hoof, she wasn't listening to half of what the malicious mare said anyway, because she was too busy being proud and amazed at herself for suddenly being able to perform a true spell; she'd never even attempted such a thing before, and now here she was, locked in a paralyzing face-off with a unicorn with far greater age and experience.
But in that same vein came a large dollop of confusion. Why, exactly, was she able to do what she was doing right now, with no prior experience? Not only had she replicated her first spell, but she was able to use that knowledge to analyze Glow and produce a whole new spell.
Dinky wasn't stupid; it was pretty obvious that this kind of thing didn't happen to normal fillies.
What are you doing, wondering about that?

"Dashie?" I called out. A few tiny hoof taps sounded against the wooden flooring of my house, and a particular cyan filly darted around a corner and skidded to a stop in front of me, gazing up at my face with those large, innocent violet eyes of hers. She blinked. Not only a week ago had she uttered her first words, and just recently she had been exploring the house while I was away at work.
I set my keys in the cupboard above the sink I normally keep them in, before reaching down and grabbing the filly with both hands, setting her on the countertop by the sink. She sat down on her haunches, and continued staring up at me as I cranked the handle on the sink engraved with a large "H". Water poured out the nozzle, which quickly snagged her attention.
I had retrieved water for her before via the sink (as my refrigerator's water dispenser had been broken since before my parents passed), but, from her diminutive vantage point, she had never actually witnessed the wat
