Fighting a war I can't win,
This theological fight,
That I'm having with no one but me.
My blankets twist and wrinkle
Thinking of my flaws,
My shallow thoughts, my heart so fickle.
Crying so much that I make my throat raw.
I don't know if I can trust
Myself for all that I've done
My voice turned to rust
As I cry out for someone, anyone.
I need someone to hold me.
To tell me it's all okay.
Holding me, but still setting me free.
I need to be loved.

That makes you squirm inside?
Maybe it makes you giggle,
Like your stomach is bringing in the tide?
That one thought,
That makes you double take,
Maybe makes you feel fake?
It could be a loving thought,
Maybe "I love you"?
But maybe it makes you stomach feel taught,
Like another friend gone.
That one thought always in the back of your mind,
But when you dig to find it,
Sometimes it's hard to find.
'Cause you push it to the back.
That thought that maybe makes you hate
Of maybe makes you believe in fate.
Or inquires who you really are.
It gives you feelings that you didn't know you had.
Gives you maybe hatred, love, anger
Remember that you shouldn't feel bad.
Remember that it's only one thought.
Ding Dong BellThe bells of the church tower chimed proudly as the announced to the world that midnight had struck. Little Johnny Flynn’s cries would have been drowned out by the noise if it wasn't for the fact he was gagged, as he struggled to keep his head above the water. The full moon peered down the well shaft, her pale face mocking him as he attempted to scramble up the slimy walls and sliding back down like a spider being washed down a water pipe by a shower of rain. A silhouette appeared in amongst the moon’s gibe, it leaned over the edge and Johnny could make out the heavyset body of Tommy Stout. Tommy’s face looked grey and it wasn't just the light that made it so, his eyes were unpitying and his mouth a long line as if someone had cut across a watermelon with a scalpel.Ding Dong Bell9 months ago in Short Stories More Like This
“Do you understand now?” The boy asked, his viciously soft voice echoing down the well, “This is how it feels to suffer, like the animals you torture, it’s not nice is it?” Jo
Humpty DumptyHumphrey Duncan was a rotten child; he would climb up a ladder and sit upon the tremendous wall that surrounded the vast garden of his house, which towered over the streets below, its windows like eyes, judging those less wealthy than Humphrey’s father. Some japed that the large house was needed in order for the boy to get inside; he was after all a portly lad. Those who did not live in the town or know the boy may have pitied him upon hearing these jeers, but rest assured their worries were set at ease when they passed the wall that bravely held up the lump of a child. Humphrey would spit the seeds and stones of plums and mandarins at passers-by; when they were out of his firing range he would shout and mock them in the cruellest of fashions and no matter whom it was that suffered, complaints went unheeded. Complaints to the boy’s father were waved away carelessly,Humpty Dumpty8 months ago in Short Stories More Like This

My Brother's Girlfriend: Did you know the kids can't watch Brave? They're scared of it.
Me: Really? You're scared of the bears?
My Niece: *nods*
My Brother's Girlfriend: And yet they watch Doctor Who and that's no problem!
My Brother: Yeah, people getting vaporized? Not a problem. Bears? Oh hell no.
Me: They watch Doctor Who?
My Niece: I love Doctor Who! *imitates a Dalek* Exterminate! Exterminate!
Me: That is, bar none, the greatest thing I've ever seen.
And thus, she and I imitated Daleks the entire car ride and even when we got to the theatre. Suddenly, I know the joys of being an auntie.
Oh yeah, and Rise of the Guardians was fantastic.
