“Bear, komen!” he called out. His vice echoed a little, but there was no other sound. Reese hesitated, and began to feel slightly uneasy. “Finch? Are you here?” he said, listening hard, but there was no answer. Reese bit his lower lip, then advanced into the library. Finch was nowhere to be seen. At last, when he rounded one row of bookshelves, he saw a door that was cracked open slightly. By the look of it, it lead into nothing more than a little storage closet, but Reese entered all the same, and found that it was a large, rather empty, rather spacious room. Reese walked slowly in, looking around him with interested eyes. There was a thick gray carpet on the floor, and two sofas, one dark blue and the other cream-colored, that stood at a right angle with each other in the middle of the room. There were a few pictures on the walls, mostly paintings of places Reese had never seen before
