Praise the invisible
Because He cannot hurt you
Listen to the man
and do as he says
to avoid a fiery end
to keep you sitting up straight
You think you are willing
Because your daddy said so
Don't you wanna see mom again
Tie your hair up tight
and close your knees
Smile with your teeth
your jaw tight
What you say is wrong
So listen well child
and I'll tell you how to live.

Our eulogies are written on time delay: please
don't release this condemnation until one hundred
years after X. In 1974 Allen Ginsberg drew the bell
that did the death knells and sat still for twenty
more years until His hands were so numb, puddles
of sweat forming from thighs and chest and forearm.
A bead off the tip of a nose, a spell of water saying:
I am the bleak house of the corner drug store,
windows shut like storm torn branches.
I am the beer bottle in the creek that runs through
the back of the middle school, the one your kids
poke at instead of doing their field exercises.
I was a gay man or not or thought of myself as one
and they will tell stories about the stories that were told
for years. Those years are detailed and those details
are torn off and thrown into fires because
only the brilliant men get their own words to speak
the displeasures of every moment in which we are not
being served a dream wort

Drank your blood
Drowning in it
She sucked you dry
She left you high
She poisoned your mind
She got inside of your soul and asked for your love
And you gave in
Drinking her, tasting her pain
Getting within and letting her win
You became her rain
Saving rain in the empty dessert that is her heart
She fell apart
You broke her down
With your love
With your damaged soul
With your poisoned mind
You saved her
By falling in love with the darkest of them all

Blurred peripherals detect a lone ember drowning in the ashtray, a Marlboro Smooth choking beneath garish glares of moonlight.

Im not sure how old she is, but Mommy sometimes says Teenagers these days in a quiet voice, so I guess she must be very old, but not as old as Mommy or Daddy.
Elena is very sweet to me. She reads to me before bedtime, and always lets me choose the book. On picture days at school, when Mommy is too tired to get up and make me look pretty, Elena gets up and does my hair just like hers, so I feel like a big girl!
But ever since Elena spent the night at her best friends house, she has been very quiet. She isnt so sweet anymore. Elena is always looking off to the side, and her eyes arent so shiny now, she never even reads to me now, so I have to go to bed without a story, she doesnt even care when I cry.
I think that she might be sick. But Mommy says that she is going through a stage, I tried to tell Mommy that Elena was not a stage, she was a girl, but

Oh, Rhiannon, I think all that lipstick is finally getting to your brain, says Sabine.
Leave me alone about the lipstick, I say.
The lipstick started during the divorce, and even though all is better now, the lipstick habit still remains. But seriously, it tastes good. Its not like I eat it when Im extra sad about the divorce or anything like that. It all comes down to the simple fact that I enjoy this stuff.
Have you tried the orange kind yet? Sabine asks me. Because Ive always wondered if it tastes like oranges.
I said, leave me alone about the lipstick. Sabine can really annoy the hell out of me sometimes. Im trying to tell you about this dream.

Strawberry Syrup -RogerxRick- Rick pawed down the darkened hallway, his socked feet silently padding the carpet as he rolled each step carefully from heel to toe. He slid down the hall towards the softly illuminated kitchen, while playing the very Mission Impossible-esque Lucifer Sam riff in his head, a slight excited smile curving his lips. There was something about sneaking about a night-darkened, ear-ringingly quiet house that Rick had always found fun. Even if its main objective only was to raid the fridge and nab a piece of leftover angel cake and some of that strawberry syrup without anyone noticing.Strawberry Syrup -RogerxRick-5 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Rick reached the kitchen. He listened, then quickly, and rather comically, poked his head through the doorway, looking from side to side When he was sure all was clear, he tip-toed to the fridge. Scrunching his nose, he slowly pulled the fridge's loud suctioned door open.
And there, in all its fridge-lit, cellophane-covered glory, was the half-eaten

"Alright my little Running Back, let's get you in the bed, apparently, you get worn out easily by excitement" I said as I lifted her into my arms and carried her into my room, where Dad put a little crib that he found in the attic for her while the rest of us watched Football. Almost as soon as I covered Ruby with the blanket she fell asleep, still sucking on her thumb, which I thought was cute so I took a picture and slowly made my way out of my room. I quietly made my way downstairs, opened the fridge and took a quick drink out of the coke that was out there, I also pulled out an orange. Just before I could start peeling the orange, I hear crying, I guess Ruby's sleep didn't last long so I quickly made my way back to my room and saw her crying next to the bars of the crib, she looked like she was lonely. I walked to her, picked her up and carefully sat down on my

Said in the wrong tone, that was a horrible thing to wake up to.
And it was definitely in the wrong tone.
Rick and I had gone back to bed last night, dripping wet, laughing like idiots. We got back to his room and snuggled back into bed, our bodies still warm from the bath we had shared. Rick couldn't stop telling me how good I was and I couldn't stop staring at him. There was a bit of general snogging afterwards until we were finally exhausted. Rick eventually fell to sleep, head on my chest, and I did a bit after, loving the feeling of him against me.
And then the morning came.
I guess we were so entranced in our little escapade that we forgot about reality, which struck us pretty hard.
Especially when Nick walked in on us.
On Rick's bed.
"Holy Christ. Ho-ly Christ."
Oh man. I did not want to look up. God, god, god no.
I looked up, my eyebrows arched with worry.
Nick was staring at us like a deer in headlights. He was glued to the sp

"There's a bed right there."
"And we're on the floor."
Jimmy waited for an explanation while he dramatically tiddlied a red wink. It landed in the middle and he won the game, but that's besides the point.
"So..." Robert continued, unphased by Jimmy's magical powers at tiddlywinks. "Wouldn't it be comfier on the bed than the floor?"
"You can't play tiddlywinks with a labradoodle on a bed, Percy."
So anyways the two hopped up on the bed like flicked tiddleywinks and got stright to it.
"So," Jimmy inquired. "How do we do this?"
"Well," Robert explained, "I've read about this sort of thing on the not-yet-existant internet... somehow..."
"About us having sex."

I looked around and sighed. The burger joint reeked of humanity. Grease hung in the air like humidity, and there was tension between everyone, as if all the customers were negative magnets repelling each other. No one looked into each other's eyes, not even the cashier's. People said their orders to the menu above the counter. And it was so loud. There were too many noises—children screaming, cash registers clanging, and fries sizzling as they were dipped into vats of boiling oil. My muscles were tense and my hair bristled. Why d

I could hear Dave putting on a record downstairs. The baseline thumped through the floor. But that was all I could hear of it. Not that I was paying any attention or anything. I opened the blinds to my window, letting the light shower in. It wouldn't be too long until the sun went down and slipped past my window, but for now it streamed onto my bed. I lay down on it, propped up against the headboard and looked down at the box in my hands. I kind of wanted to savour this. The thought that Rick had actually thought of me today made me smile. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly.
"Oh, what the hell," I said, opening the top of the box. I turned it upside-down. With a small 'flunf' something fell to my lap. I picked it up. It was a notebook with music notes all along the front. I thought about the stack of notebooks I had acquired and kept under my bed. Huh. I g

You can bet beyond a shadow of a doubt.
That exact word will seep and creep out.
It makes its way into any given conversation.
It’s probably the most used default abbreviation.
It requires no effort and rolls out with no hesitation.
It’s so universal it can be suited to every situation.
In an upsurge it will emerge with no indication.
How can one word have so many definitions.
And still have the same effect despite its repetition.
How can this same word blur all the lines of divisions.
Between polite pleasantries to abusive abrasions of affliction.
How can the tone and meaning change after every rendition.
This word sounds exactly like what it means.
You scream it, shout it and even mutter it under your breath.
No matter how big or little the occasion may seem.
Just unleashing it will take a load off your chest.

It was 2:00 am.
But it was hot out.
The doors were open.
Roger, Rick, Dave, Syd and Nick sat around the living room.
And they were all shit-faced drunk.
"And then, right in the middle of the ring was this wad of gum that my marble was stuck to!!" Nick was flopped over the arm of the sofa, telling stories about his childhood.
None of them made much sense.
"You fucking sucked at marbles, anyways, Nick," Dave crowed, finding this extremely amusing. He was sprawled over the couch, too, with his head on Nick's stomach and his legs over Rick's lap. Rick had Dave's pant-leg up and was pulling at his socks.
"Dave, you suck at everything," Roger spat, taking another swig of beer and another drag on his smoke. He was sitting on the couch across from Dave, Rick and Nick. Syd was lying upside-down over the side of the couch next to him singing something. Every once in a while, he decided to grab Roger's toes, which would usually earn him a swift but ineffective kick in his direction.

Dempsey and The Mystery of The Masked Soldier
When we last left our heroes, this mysterious female soldier was following them. She seems to be very partial to Dempsey. What is her fascination with him? Hours after, they had found themselves fighting the might and majesty of Jurassic Park: a female Tyrannosaurus Rex. After Dempsey had shot at her baby out of fear, the adult female T-Rex came to the rescue after hearing the gunshots. Her baby seemed very much okay, but the mother T-Rex was not happy at all. She had chased the Raptor Slayers down all the way off of a cliff. Where did they land? Let's find out.
Everyone had gotten separated in the fall from the seven-story cliff. It was still nighttime and the moon beamed down on the island. They were all still alive and still had their Juggernog and whatever other perks they may have had, surprisingly. But they were all separated in the fall to the ground. Dempsey had slowly gotten up, rubbing his head an

Dave still couldn't get over what had happened. He seemed to have a real problem with it. I don't know why. Nick helped me a lot, but Rick didn't have someone to talk to other than me, so I wasn't sure he was getting out everything he needed to get out, because I guess it was hard to spill feelings about someone to only them.
We tried to be subtle, for the most part. We didn't kiss around Dave, and when we made love it was only when everyone was out. Nick got Dave out of the house more often for us, which was great, but he really had to get past his habit of busting in our rooms at the most inopportune moments. One time he bursted into my room right as Rick was kneeling over me pinning my arms down. My pants were undone. Nick came in with a "Oh, Roger have you seen my---!" and quickly left with a "Who-a never mind!" as he spun around and left.
But it was pretty much smooth sailing. When Dave decided to be a sport up a bit about it, he commented on how

Someone they could fold and mould to their liking
And with him being a self perpetuating loner.
The situation seemed too compellingly inviting.
They took advantage of his good nature.
They kept adding to his already overflowing plate
And they were not the type to ever return the favour.
He saw this transaction as a contraction of them becoming mates.
They would lie to his face and talk behind his back.
Setting him tedious tasks that were initially refused by others.
This then artfully allowed them to dart off track and slack.
Why is it that the insecure and pure are the ones that suffer?
And when he was no longer able to endure.
He was ripped out and shipped out immediately.

This is a practice that is predestined to be replayed repeatedly.

What was a creature like this doing on Earth. "A-A-" "God, don't say monster." The wolf groaned in tired annoyance. "ALIEN!" The girl screamed, pointing for everyone to see. But there was no one there; it was just the little homeless girl and the alien. "NO! God dammit! It's either monster or alien! What is with this world?!"
