Hello, I've decided to release a preview of the icons to everyone. I've made a landing page for the icon set and you can download them there. I've only made the OS X icons available for now since I'm looking for someone to package them up for iOS, since I've not got a device that's eligible to test the icons.
I've also included a set with better legibility since these icons have been designed specifically for Retina iPhones. The icons have good contrast to make them out, but on some icons, it can be hard to see, hence I've added these icons for those who want the icons that are clearer.
Only twelve icons is included right now, but more are being added. Keep checking back for more, as I update this post.
Mac OS X Apps: Finder, Address Book, LaunchPad, Time Machine, Safari, Mail, iTunes, Quicktime X, iChat, FaceTime, Mission Control, iCal (empty and with overlay) Terminal, Console, System Preferences, Chess, Trash (full and empty, part of extra bonus)
iLife Apps: iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, iWeb
iWork Apps: Pages, Numbers, Keynote
Adobe Icons: Entire CS5 collection and beta program Adobe Edge
3rd Party Apps: Transmission, uTorrent, VLC, Twitter, Steam, Team Fortess II (for Steam), Skype, Rdio, Echofon, Candybar, Adium (in online, offline, and invisible status), as well as the Titanium Beta 3 icon.
Secondly, I wanted to point out a few of the changes from Beta 2 to Beta 3 • There is a brand new, updated Pages icon. The difference is that there is now ink inside. • There are over 20+ new icons added in this update. • New Trash icons follow same theme, stand out just as well. • New included dock and 5 wallpapers to go along with the theme, each, except for the Titanium Logo are sized at 2560X1600. Feel free to resize and use it personally if you'd like. • There will be only one more beta before the final release.
Extra Note about Beta 3: With Beta 3, I have decided to through in a copy of the iCal empty and iCal with Overlay icons. These icons cannot be installed with the help of newer versions of Panic's CandyBar application. If you would like to install them, please locate your iCal.app application, right click and choose Show Package Contents, navigate to Contents then to Resources, find the current icons (both empty and normal), rename them both with an extra character … DO NOT DELETE OR OVERWRITE THE ORIGINALS … BE SURE TO BACK THE ICONS UP SOMEHOW … and paste the new icons in and rename them to what the application already had so that they could be read.
Also, with the iCal icon, for some reason when it's being displayed in the dock, without the program being open, the standard stock icon will show up. This does not happen for some reason when viewing the application in Finder. Also, it shifts to the new application when running. A fix will come very soon once I figure out how to do it.
Final Thoughts: Unfortunately, Beta 3 took forever. This was due to a number of personal matters that I had to attend to before continuing. As stated above, there will be one more Beta before the final release of this icon set. From now on, all suggestions for app icons will be pushed out via 5-packs. When a steady number of packs come out, I'll begin work on my newest project.
Michael Schumacher born 3 January 1969 is a German Formula One racing driver, having last driven for the Mercedes team. Schumacher is a seven-time World Champion and is widely regarded as the greatest F1 driver of all time on his performance records alone.
WORK: The software used was Photoshop CS5 and I used only the tool pen.
This is a paper, ink and steampunk icon that you could use for a link to anything you like, that is up to you to decide. I use it as a link to my folder containing military simulation software. This icon is eminently usable on windows/ Mac OS/X / Linux &c. Download at the top of this page.
## I SAY CHAPS DO COMMENT IF YOU LIKE THIS ONE !!! ##
This PNG is larger and has more detail so that you can resize if you wish or use "as-is". I will be creating .ICO and .ICNS icons from this later.
Here is just one more over 150 steampunk icons that I have created that will leave your Windows or Mac desktop looking absolutely spiffing. There is a whole set of the little thingies and I must say they do look very steampunk indeed! They really are a suitable replacement for the boring old default icons that come with Rocketdock/ObjectDock &c.
This icon and the others like it will spruce up your desktop and give it a bit of Victorian class. Compatible with MobyDock, ObjectDock, RK Launcher, and your default Windows icons. Inspired by Samantha Wright's British Library Icons. Based on a genuine Edwardian recruiting poster of the First World War it has been iconised with the addition of a couple of brass pins, some shadows, bevelling and rotation to appear more poster-ish. The colours have been enhanced without making them too garish.
To View: - You can see all my icons by clicking here: [link]
To Download : - I have created a couple of steampunk icon sets but you can download the main one here: [link]
If you want any new icons then just ask! I am always open to new (or old) ideas - please leave a comment, these icons are quite hard to do and a nice comment makes my day.
Rocketdock Installation: In the rocketdock folder there is a subfolder called icons. Move these icons into that folder or create a subfolder called steampunk icons and copy them in there. Then you simply change each of your individual icon images to any one of these. Easy enough.
The only condition for downloading and using is that you leave feedback. Please leave a message and rate the icons as it is the only payment I get for creating this small desktop addition
If you feel so disposed you could donate a point or two to my deviantart pool? [link]
Thanks! Do enjoy the icon. Download at the top, that's it, just there. Ooh yes, that's lovely, thankyou.
