And YOU CatCouch ...Questioning me! Saying I didn't have one. Well here it is, and it (literally) has your name on it. I even wrote your name in red to show I mean business.
For those who don't know. It's a missile...Sort of. Okay, it looks more like a rocket, but I assure you, it will do the same thing as a missile.
BY THE WAY!! It's CatCouch 's birthday coming up on the 11th of March so don't forget to wish him a happy birthday and give him cake (before I launch my missile of awesome power and destruction)!
Okay, back to the comic...
P.S. is there anyone here that listens to Night Vale? They are hilarious!
Thanks to the following people for showing your support with a mass of 's! It didn't go unnoticed!

Behind the Screens: Digital Art Masters
Through these interviews, we will get an in-depth look into the minds
and careers of DeviantART's most influential digital artists.
Today's featured artist is pawelshogun
Paweł Jędrzejczyk is a 30 year old self-taught digital artist originally from Warsaw. He currently resides in Cracow with his girlfriend which he describes as "an old and spooky city in southern Poland." He currently works for inventory services and explains that he had never studied art or was thinking about doing it professionally until a couple years ago. He is hopeful that someday he will be able to make a living selling his paintings.

.i will not make any more boring art...an update of an old journal - for no special reason...i will not make any more boring art.4 years ago in Personal More Like This
for the simple reason..that i needed a dose of the -not-taking-things-that-seriously- approach..
.his work is visually clever..
..i think i'm using too many adjectives..
..better show what he, himself..
..has famously said..
..i don't think he does..
..or did he?..in 1970 he famously burnt everything he ever made..
..from the mouth of the artist:
“For some reason, the idea of absence, of leaving things out, has been very important in my work.”
“I used to wake up sometimes in a sweat, and tell myself I was just making trinkets for rich people.”
“I really like being alone,”
..and..when asked if he has figured out what art is, his response:
“Not . . . a . . . clue.”
all this (and more) is evident in this short video..

The Enduring Enigma of CollageFebruary 21, 2013/by techgnoticThe Enduring Enigma of Collage3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Collage is one of those art forms that immediately sets off heated debate about our most fundamental ideas and visceral feelings about the very essence of art itself.
Turn of the century troublemakers Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso began enhancing their paintings with glued on bits of cut out fabric and other materials, thus neatly blurring the line between the art categories of painting and sculpture. They shifted the emphasis or “meaning” of their painted images beyond an attempted interpretation of the painted “text” to thinking about the artists’ “process” – something wholly separate from the paintings themselves.
And with that a whole new Rubic’s Cube of basic questio

In the deviantART booth, we witnessed something a little magical when the voice came over the loudspeaker to announce that Comic-Con was closed at 5:00 pm sharp, the remaining straggling attendees and exhibitors packing up stopped what they were doing and burst into applause. It was a mixture of relief, pride, and fulfillment of a successful convention.
Someone yelled, "See you in 365 days!" and there was a true moment of community with everyone in earshot. Sure, it's a sad sentiment, but it gives us all something to look forward to, and the months ahead will be filled with the happy memories of all we accomplished over the past week. Friends met that stop by every year, new friends, new properties to become fans of, new comic books to read and
Improve your Digital Painting Skills!!!I´ve been seing several artists here and on facebook who now are trying digital painting, wich I´m really happy as I love painting too and are artists that used to do Photomanipulations like me!Improve your Digital Painting Skills!!!2 years ago in Personal More Like This
The thing is... they are learning from the bad way, tracing the photos they are using as "reference" or just directly copying a photo and no giving credits to the original stock artists (wich is rare because with manipulations these people always gave credits to them.)
These artists seemed to improve incredibly in just a few weeks (for example, from one week to another they became good with anatomy) but the reality is what I told you, as I have proofs of it. I´m not a person who talks without being sure of what I´m saying.
The real tips on improving are:
I know, if you are just starting anatomy may be a pain in the ass, you may not know where to

So let's get down and dirty with it:
THEME we gotta have one. It's like the law. This time round guys is NEW BEGINNINGS. That's it. You can do anything with this theme in mind, in any visual medium. This contest is running over the new year, new year new start and all, so hey, NEW BEGINNINGS! (Yes, yes I know. Providing the world doesn't end soon. though even that would be a kinda new beginning, it's the beginning of an afterlife or of nothingness or reincarnation, whichever belief you hold to.) So long as your work is titled and inspired by the idea of beginning, starting something new, something unknown
drawing while studyingHey, I something I have noticed...drawing while studying2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I often listen to lectures on you tube while I try to get pages of my comic done, so I am drawing while I listen. The interesting thing is, when I go back and continue finishing a part of a drawing that I had been working on while I listened to something, what I listened to comes right back into my head !
If you had asked me what it was I listened to the day before, under some other circumstances, I probably couldn't of remembered it at all, but the prompt of the unrelated piece of art makes me remember things.
Have you students ever experenced this during a lecture? Might be an interesting thing to try, instead of trying to scribble down notes.
The New Street Photographer's ManifestoFebruary 7, 2013/by techgnoticThe New Street Photographer's Manifesto3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Street photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson called it the “decisive moment”— the captured instant when all the photograph’s elements come together to tell a story in a way a text narrative of thousands of words could never begin to. It is what hooks people, both practitioners and advocate-devotees, on the art form. It is uniquely completely immersive in life— step out into the streets— in which the moment of artistic epiphany can never be guessed at until it suddenly happens. When it is properly mastered, it is as pure as the dawn of each new day, as true as the living organism of a teeming street scene catching a breath as one.
It's no easy task to pull a book together for publication and "The New Street Pho

go to http://www.dxomark.com/index.php/Cameras/Camera-Sensor-Ratings/%28type%29/usecase_sports
Find your camera and see what iso settings you can push your camera to and still retain descent image quality, this is especially important when shooting auroras, a high iso sensitivity means you can push the shutterspeed under the magical 8 seconds to retain some of the movement of the aurora in the image.
(I personally recommend 6 or less)
Preventing STAR TRAILS
Use the rule of 600 to keep stars in the picture from trailing/streaking.
Divide 600 by the true focal lenght of your lens, true is measured by 35mm full frame, so a 30 mm full frame lens would yield this simple equation: 600/30 = 20 second (or less) exposure and stars will look nice.
For cropped sensors you have to time your focal length with 1.5 for Nikon and 1.6 for Canon.
So 16 mm wide angle lens on a Canon cropped sensor would equal 25.6mm true focal lengt (16*1.6) giving this equation: 600/25.6 = 23.43 secon

As you know, a new year is just one of the many "New Beginnings" in life, and that's why I thought it would be fun to hold a contest with that theme!
Theme: "New Beginnings"
This can really be interpreted in any way you like! It can be the start of the New Year, or Spring, when Nature comes back to life, it can be a wedding, starting a family, having a new family member (yes, PETS count! ), turning over a new leaf, realising what you want to do in life...
And the BEST thing about this theme, in my opinion, is that it's OPEN to ALL MEDIUM!!

New! Cubism Messenger Bag Design Challenge!New! Cubism Messenger Bag Design Challenge!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
What comes to mind when you hear the name Pablo Picasso? That’s right, it’s time to break it down, Cubism-style! For the first time ever, we are hosting a Messenger Bag Design Challenge! We want you to create an original design for the flap of the bag in the style of Cubism.
For this challenge, we are defining Cubism as an art style in which instead of depicting objects from one viewpoint, the artist depicts the subject from multiple viewpoints to represent the subject in a greater context. Often, the surfaces intersect at seemingly random angles, removing a coherent sense of depth. The background and object planes interpenetrate one another to create a shallow ambiguous space.
Your design should appear on the flap of the bag (below the zipper), using only <
So Your Fantasy Creature Evolvedsquid's advice yaaaaay ?So Your Fantasy Creature Evolved1 year ago in Personal More Like This
So a lot of artists/writers like to use evolution as the explanation for their fantasy critters. Which for the record they aren't too bad at... it's just... I don't think most people realize there are options other than adaptation and sexual selection.
Here is a quick overview of some material that maybe wasn't covered in the non-major intro biology course you were forced to take:
+Evolution doesn't happen to individuals, it happens to populations. (Pokemon isn't quite accurate on that regard) Any change between the parent generation and the offspring is considered evolution, whether it's adaptive or not. There are lots of ways non-adaptive traits can be perpetuated across generations by chance.
+Adaptive evolution is when a trait or behavior is favored because it aids foraging (ability to find food), deterring predators, and/or increases fitness (number of offspring produced).
