First of all new Gyno-Star update: http://www.gynostar.com/archives/2024
(Sometimes doing the right thing sucks!)
Second of all, I need your help! I'm trying to attend a conference for online progressive activists. It would be a great way to meet others who are working on the issue of women's representation in media, a cause that's close to my heart! But I can't afford to attend unless I get a scholarship.
Here's how you can help: Vote for me! The 5 applicants with the most votes will automatically win scholarships. It's really easy to do, and takes seconds.
Vote here: http://nn13.democracyforamerica.com/applicants/181
Your help/support would be so deeply appreciated!

Video Game Giveaway!Edit: There's still keys to claim guys, the only ones that were grabbed are mirrors edge and dead space!!Video Game Giveaway!4 months ago in Personal More Like This
Hello friends, ~RileyHavoc bought the most recent humble bundle for me and a lot of these games come with a key for Steam and a key for Origin. Seeing as it would make no sense to own the games on both Steam and Origin, I have decided to give some of them away! (The ones that are available are the ones that are not redeemed.)
All you need to do in order to claim one is draw me a Snek using muro in the comments. uwu Have fun!
Spreading around everyone's art(9 left!)Simple Rules:Spreading around everyone's art(9 left!)10 months ago in Personal More Like This
* The first 20 people's avatar commenting this journal, and the three deviations I like most from their gallery will be put on the list below!
* If you comment, you have to do the same in your journal, putting the tagger (me) on the first place.
* The idea of this is not to get a free feature, it is to spread art around for everyone!
I actually liked the idea, so I'm doing this tag, although I haven't time nor wanted to do it for a loooong time.
Anyway, say your name and I'll show your stuff.
(no need to make a journal for this, you can still ask me to feature your art/Dana.)

NOW we can say stuff about MLP's season finale... Yeah, I know I made some journal saying that some people are being silly about judging an episode which people have yet to see. Now we know how Larson handled this really difficult thing from Hasbro.NOW we can say stuff about MLP's season finale10 months ago in Personal More Like This
I am no writer. I could have some thoughts about the finale, but my opinions are only layman opinions. I would be certain the finale would be better if they used two episodes for that instead of cramming it into one episode. In the end, this was a very difficult thing that's a bit forced on to the writers, and it has pretty much divided the fandom.
... I still think some people are handling this very poorly... It's pretty interesting to see journals which people are liking the episode quite a bit, but there are others who could not handle it very well. e.g. throwing F-bombs (fascism) around and declaring war on Hasbro is definitely a horrible way to react to this (I literally saw a journal do that)
Self InsertsHello, Deviantart! Today I am here to talk about a very serious topic for authors. Self Inserts!Self Inserts1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Wait! Before you hit the back button and think "oh great, here's another rant from Fang", I need to clarify something! This is not a rant. This is just my opinion.
It is perfectly okay to have a self insert.
You heard me, folks. Wanting to be a part of your favorite series or videogame is perfectly fine, and so is wanting to interact with your favorite characters. Hell, I myself have a few self inserts lying around, even today. I use them regularly! But here's the thing you have to keep in mind:
If you put them in public, people will judge you and give you critique on the character.
I'm not saying this to be mean; if you tell people want to have sex with Rarity from My Little Pony, they're going to look at you funny! Now, this is where you have two options:
1. You can just write the stories or draw the pictures, and then not publish them or show them to anyone. I
Commission Info! (Finally Ironed Shit Out)Finally getting around to this. Point commission time~!Commission Info! (Finally Ironed Shit Out)2 years ago in Personal More Like This
:I I really should have ironed this shit out a while ago. But I was lazy? Yep. I was lazy. But I'm finally got everything ironed out! Right now, it's just point commissions. Maybe at a later point I'll take money commissions.
Since I kinda wasn't sure what would be "fair" for a price range, I made 'em pretty cheap. Unless I'm told I should up the price by more than one person, these are the official ones.
I'm pretty flexible, and willing to draw nearly anything. XD
Changed the journal skin on this to make it easier to see some of the examples!
Stars mark new rules/information!
No boobs/ genitalia. (I'm not really comfortable with these)
No fancharacter x cannon character. I will not encourage that drama. (ex: Naruto x some fan chick/dude)
Nudity is okay, but private areas (boobs, genitalia) will be covered!
I'll draw boy x boy, boy x girl
This place should be your #1 source for MLP refsThis journal recently popped up in my inbox:This place should be your #1 source for MLP refs11 months ago in Personal More Like This
And it lead to this site:
It's an imageboard meant to hold and tag a lot of screencaps we can use for references whenever we need to draw with likeness to what we want to draw.
I've uploaded 130+ screencaps and counting (muahahahaha), though I'm running out of good stuff to upload. I've had a fairly sizable collection of screenshots taken for the purpose of referencing backgrounds and object; I need them to make tiles. Don't be surprised if a good number of my screencaps are a bit unusable if you try to use them as a ref of a pony, but I think I uploaded a ton of stuff that's usable for people who are interested in making backgrounds.
I would imagine that not everyone watches %MLP-VectorClub so this should be news for some people. Help tag some stuff, upload your own stuff, and maybe we can have a very good source for references for everyone.... and less trying to sift through hundreds of :
A leetle love storyKinda.A leetle love story1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I was just telling :iconmoldybass: this and figured it's too good of a tale not to share (and those who know me irl, i.e. :iconmyhatseatpeople: know this and know even moreso why it's so amazing)
Well, once upon a time - a couple of years or so back, my older brother got himself quite wasted. In the melee of his drunken nature, he was trying to find his way home and somehow lost all of his clothes and was near the allotments on the main road to town. There, he stole himself a cabbage and tried to make his way home with it, merrily smashed, but was caught by the police and put in a cell for a night.
My brother become the nudist cabbage thief.
Years later, he (managedlololool) got himself a girlfriend who came down with him from Winchester to visit for a while. She got very drunk one night and tried to steal a coliflower from the same allotments, saying "she wanted to bring something for the sunday dinner". Luckily my brother was fully clothed and sober and convinced her to leave
Warning for all who enrol in Obamacare...(Not by me)Warning for all who enrol in Obamacare...2 months ago in Personal More Like This
Warning: Enrolling in Obamacare allows government to link your IP address with your name, social security number, bank accounts and web surfing habits
(NaturalNews) We have already established that Healthcare.gov is not a functioning database application that allows people to shop for competing health plans. It is actually a government-run Trojan Horse that suckers people into creating accounts where they hand over:
• Name and address
• Email address and password
• Social security number
• Private bank account details
• Employer details and other information
During the enrollment process, your computer also hands over your IP address which is then tied to your social security number.
This IP address is then handed over to the NSA thanks to its new mega-black-hole data center in Utah, where your IP is cross-referenced with all website visits, inc

Reflections and PredictionsI'll start by talking about a topic we're all familiar with: technology.Reflections and Predictions2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Now, I don't know about you, but I'm quite happy with technology these days. My computer does everything that I want it to do, at a pretty good speed; my Dad has a fancy camera, but more importantly, he lets me use it; then there's various other gadgets of the 21st century, like 3D TVs and smartphones, and they're all pretty awesome.
And yet, it is often the case that we look back into the past, at, say, my parents' generation. They didn't have the luxury of computers, their cameras relied on film instead of pixels, and things like 3D were unheard of. Compared to our current living standards today, it's easy to think that life was 'hard' back then - but they lived through it quite happily. Perhaps, while they were writing letters instead of texts, they felt grateful that they had a postage system at all. In fact, they probably felt the same way as I do now: "Wow, we have this fancy new stuff like trams. It must've
