Re-released sushi bento mousepad - as a print for Anime Weekend Atlanta 2011 due to popular demand! Thank you for looking - I hope you are pleased by these virtual sushi and snacks and are not as hungry as I am right now~ Bless y'all!

Oh! And the Japanese is "いただきます," meaning "Itadakimasu!" "I humbly receive" is what the Japanese traditionally say before enjoying a meal.

EDIT: Re-uploaded because colors were SUPER RED like ANGRY SUSHI. @_@

Inspired in the styles: classic lolita (green-ivory fairy), Hime Lolita (The princess) and Sweet Lolita (the yellow lolita).
This is the first time I've did a illustration like this: lineart and colors in Adobe Photoshop with a great background. And the shadows: in photoshop I always did smooth shadows, the hard shadows was only in vector illustrations.

This began as a texture exercise, and I really like how it turned out so I decided to share it here! Sushi referenced from various sushi photos found on corbis.com

I don't know what half this stuff is, I don't really like to eat sushi - I just like to look at it! :D

Wasn't sure where to put this since it's a food recipe but there is no actual picture of food in it.
Anyway, the is a recipe for melon bread. That's right, you've seen it in animes & read it in mangas & now prepare to make it for yourself. It is a very long process so be sure to make it when you have a LOT of time. Oh, & you might want to bring a game to play because there is a lot of waiting around.

This recipe took me forever to find & when I did, it was posted somewhere by a Japanese woman. She wrote it in English but it still used Japanese measurements & ingredients that we don't use here in America. Luckily, someone had tried it out & posted a comment with the changes they made. So then I spent most of the following Saturday making this & I have to say it turned out really well. I went to a New Year's like the following night & passed out pieces to around 20 of my friends or so & only 1 of them said they didn't like it.
NOTE: This bread should be eaten within about 4 days or less for best taste. Though I have never tried this, it may also be possible to freeze it to store for longer periods.

ATTENTION: Any Japanese person out there that might read this & feels there is something wrong in the recipe, please let me know. I want my recipe to be as close to authentic Japanese bread as possible. Thanks

And now for something completely different: DELICIOUS FOOD. Also for the 30-thing meme. Chicken katsu bento with harumaki, California rolls, and miso soup. Eurrgh so good.
