Christmas time makes one a bit nostalgic, doesn't it? This is a very old photo from April 2010, featuring both former alpha females from Olderdissen. Maike and Laika were interacting with each other friendly, just a few seconds before that shot Maike had Laika in some kind of wolfish headlock. [link]
Then they were resting side by side, watching the other pack members. Back then Maike was almost 10 years old and Laika only 23 months old.

I miss my Olderdissen girls, I would so like to visit them. But it's always raining here day and night >.< This is the apocalypse everyone had expected! Noah's Flood is comming!

Kiley looking at me from behind a tree and being utterly cute. I took this picture last december, so another month has passed. Means it's time for the next visit! If the weather will be nice at once I'll go there next week, probably sunday, or monday.

First the silver wolf, now the golden wolf. I'm creative!
Kiley is such a cute thing. Her right front leg still looks a bit unfortunate, though. I'm afraid she'll stay the hobbling brown wolf of the pack. Luckily it doesn't seem to bother her too much.

This picture I dedicate to :iconjekstro: ;) I'm sorry that her front paw is about to abscond from the picture, but I tried!

In my last deviation of Smilla I said that Ronja would be the new leader of the Olderdissen pack and Luna her shadow. I found out that this is not quite true. Actually the pack is now in a very unique constellation - with two female alphas.
Luna and Ronja are both the dominant ones now, working as a dream-team and both mark their territory with an uplifted leg. Which is usually the best sign to identify the top ranked wolf. (It looks funny when females try that :XD:) When they got fed Ronja even showed signs of humility towards Luna, even though, apart from that, she usually is the mouthy one.
Never heard of such a constellation before. And the atmosphere in the enclosure was remarkably peaceful.

Ole is definitely one of the most handsome wolves you can find in Germany. And one of the most loveable. Even though he's not hand-raised he displays a gentle curiosity about humans and he's the only wolf I know who reacts when you call his name. Whenever we called "Ole!" he at least turned around or even came over to look at us.

The end of march is comming closer, but it's still snowing every day ... this winter is reaaally weird. I suppose the wolves like it.

Tina, Bootsmann's companion. On my last visit she was quite annoyed and grumpy, because Bo was a bit lovesick. Whenever he pawed at her (and he did that some billion times while looking sugar-sweet) she would snap him away. An old granny is no good mate for a young and feisty charmer, I fear. She's ten years older than him.

Smilla giving me some ... weird look. My favourite girl is in the lead again.
She should tell her secret of preserving beauty - aka preserving skin withouth injuries - to Ronja and Kira. She's really good in that.

Edersee has turned into my most visited park within the last half year, even though it is still 1:40h away from my home. I'm so in love with the wolves there and this beautiful girl is my favourite, right after the pups. It's pretty rare to see adult wolves that are still entirely black. And she's a wonderful poser.

I have asked for their names, but as I never got a proper answer ("Yeah, don't know ... but they all start with R and the pups don't have names.") I decided I would simply give them names myself. (Respectively I asked some of my friends for names.)
When I looked at this girl "Xelha" immediately came to my mind and stuck there. So she'll be Xelha for me from now on. Can't help myself. XD
(10 cookies for you if you know where this name comes from. Without looking it up of course.)

It's Ceyla, carrying around a piece of ice (and a leaf).

By the way, is it only me who sees it, or are the folder icons of all those who use custom graphics in their galleries displaced?

A portrait of one of the three male wolves from Edersee. He's probably the alpha male. I really like his face!
