"And just over that ridge" said Jason as he stood in front of the group of campers as they exited off the Argo II, "Is a bridge that is connected to the entrance to the roman camp--"
Metallic bells immediately went off in the distance
"Let me guess, that the security alarms" said Piper
"I'm afraid so" said Jason as he reached in and gripped his magical coin, he wasn't hoping to have to have to use it on his own comrades. But he certainly wasn't going to let the roman campers hurt any of the Greek campers, especially Piper.
"The plan doesn't change!" shouted Annabeth as some of the campers started to get ready for combat, "Remember, this is supposed to be a truce mission, but if any romans do attack and probably will, you may disarm but don't kill"
A few Ares kids cursed in moaned in disapproval, oh how they hated not being able to hack and mame, which is what they were only good for. Just don't say that to their faces.

The rest of the remaining campers dumped me and Annabeth straight into the lake, cheering and whistling as we floated down together. I wasn't focusing on the being in the water as much this time (hmm, wonder why ) so my clothes were soaked the moment they hit the water. I blindly made an air bubble around our heads and continued to kiss.
Annabeth's hands were run up my wet hair, and I had my hands wrapped around her slender waist. Campers clapped and yelled things muffled by the water like, "Finally!" and "Yeah, Percy! Get some face!" was from the more rowdy campers. A smile played at her face at that, and I kissed her teeth for a bit.
Campers began to leave after awhile. How long had we been down here? I honestly didn't know or care at the moment. Only some of the campers that we knew well were waiting up at the top for us. Clarisse and Nico were pretty much the only ones there.
"Finished?" Nico taunted, one of his rare smiles showing.

It was a weird feeling to hold the sleeping Bella in my arms. Weird and yet unbelievable good. I hummed the tune of a lullaby that had come to my mind just like that in this peaceful moment and yet it sounded awfully familiar. Just like it was new and so familiar to hold Bella.
Her sleeping face was blank of any expression and then again it seemed to be painted with deep lines of comfort. I couldn't stop looking at her. The way she was breathing not even aware of this act or how her heart was beating in a slow rhythm of life, barely visible at her neck. Every pulse a sign of new life and she wasn't even aware of it. It was quite a surprise that this moment didn't send me running away from her. I was still not bothered by the temptation her blood was to me. For this moment I didn't have to fight for composure but could just enjoy the sight of her face.
I was wishing for one thing only. To be able to sleep next to her. I wanted to sleep ever since I'd become a vampire but tonig

"Hey, I know you don't like this, and I don't like it either. But some things come first, and for me that's my country. Since you can't stay with Grangran, the only other option is to go to a boarding school. Don't take me wrong, I don't doubt your skills of taking care of your sister, it's just that I can't send you money for rent, food, or make sure you are all okay."
"No buts, this is final."
Katara wanted to speak but she didn't. She knew her dad was having a hard time, but it didn't mean she would have to agree with his decisions. He was being shipped off to Iraq and she and Sokka were being stuck in a stupid boarding school in the middle of California. Things had been difficul

(Present Day - Two months since first meeting L)
It has been two months since you first moved into Task Force Headquaters. Within the two months a lot had happened to you, but not so much in the Kira investigation.
First there was Light Yagmia. You had went to the same highschool as him and had been in the same class in your senior year. Despite being in the same school as him, you had no idea what was so 'good' about him. Everywhere he went girls would be fawning over him, and he seemed popular with everyone. He was a know-it-all, happy go lucky guy and this just really ticked you off.
Secondly, there was Miss Misa Amani. A dipsy blonde girl who was absolutely head over heels in love with Light. She wasn't that bright but was pretty well known. She worked in fashion and was actually quite the star. Misa was also a bit childish, this was the only thing you liked about her. Despite being basically a polar opposite to Light, they were a couple.
Thirdly, there was the task force. They wer

Bread. Warm, baking, delicious bread. Bread my family slaves over the hot oven to bake every day, yet never gets to taste.
A gaping yawn distorts my features. I can just see the soft gray light that precedes sunrise crawling across my ceiling and throwing soft shadows across the far wall.
Reaping day has arrived at last.
My stomach drops. It's best not to think about that. There's no use. There's no use torturing myself with thoughts of the coming ceremony. I've learned that well over the past 4 years.
I can hear my brothers stirring in the next room. Owning a bakery and having to run it day after day has reset my family's natural clock over the years. Now, when the sun wakes up, so do we.
I get up and slowly get dressed, donning the soft white apron I scrub clean every night after we've closed up shop. My large hands brush out the wrinkles and I notice the warmth already creeping into the ai

I was standing in the corner of the main office and a scared little boy with brown hair and gray eyes was sitting in the chair in front of the desk. Scratch that, I was sitting in the chair in front of the desk. A kindly woman was sitting behind it. It'd been a long time since I had thought about my time in the orphanage, so why was my subconscious bringing it up now? I thought you only remembered your achievements when your life flashes before your eyes. But instead of all my triumphs, all I saw was the woman and my younger self.
The woman took a deep breath and said slowly, "Tom, you don't have any parents. I know it's hard for you to understand, but your parents have left you here to wait for n

You felt queasy as you and the batter arrived in Zone 1. 'This teleporting thing feels so weird,' you thought. 'Good thing I don't have to do it often.'
The two of you soon came upon the train car to Damien and hopped on board. You took a seat, but he continued to stand next to you. As you rode along the tracks, it started to rain, but it was very light.
"Um, batter," you said, an idea forming in your mind. "Can everyone see me?"
"Can I still control your actions?"
"Yes." He looked at you. "All you have to do is think of what you want me to do, and I'll do it."
"Can...can specters hurt me?"
His eyes darted to the floor. "Yes."
You felt your stomach drop as he kneeled down beside you. "But I won't let them." He put a hand on yours. "I promise." You nodded, a blush forming on your cheeks. "Oka

At the moment though you were sitting in your room, alone, trying to figure out something that L hadn’t. You scanned the table which was littered with papers, looking for some sort of new clue but there was none. Sighing, you started to look at the pile of small notes you and Light had been exchanging when L was on a new lead, wondering whether or not this was the real thing. You did have to admit the two of you had become closer over the past week now that L was busy again.

Annabeth raised her eyebrow as her boyfriend continued to yell at this 'little gray alien.' Eventually she walked over to him and stared at the game he was playing. There was, in fact, a little gray alien running along some blue platforms. Percy slammed his hand down on the space bar and the alien hurtled over a gap in the platform.
"What the heck is this?" Annabeth asked unimpressed.

The school Mello and Mary were enrolled in was not a very nice place. The dull paint was peeling off the walls, when it rained there was a high probability the roof would leak, the teachers didnt seem to care about anything, and kindergartners through twelfth graders were all crammed into the same building. Needless to say, it was an extremely unpleasant environment.
Mello stopped his sister just before they entered the school grounds. He turned her to face him, looking down at her seriously.
Okay. Dont pick fights with anyone else at school today, stay out of the bigger kids way, and this time, if a high schooler tells you to move to a different lunch table,

Katara reluctantly woke up. She felt so comfortable! This bed was softer than the bed in her room. She stretched. Her legs didn't go behind the bed, like they usually did.
She slowly opened her eyes. First, she saw Zuko. He was taking some clothes from his wardrobe, perhaps to cover his naked torso

Katara violently sat up in the bed. She couldn't say anything.
-What I Where am I?! And why here?!
She couldn't ask: 'What am I doing in your bed?'.
Zuko sat on the edge of the bed.
-Yesterday, we worked very late. You fell asleep when you were signing letters. I took you here.
Katara rubbed her forehead. She fell asleep? She remembered that she was sitting at the table, transferring drops of ink and copying the Fire Lord's signature. It was so monotonous. So soporific.

Author's Note: This fic came to me after I heard, then saw the video for, the A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera duet "Say Something". It struck something in me and... well, this story is what came of it. If you haven't heard it, it can be found here: Say Something.
Usage of the cover image, entitled "Mission failed" was granted by artist f19850928.
Warning: I never thought I would write one of these, but it turns out I was wrong. Not only is this a sonfic (something I'm not a big fan of) but it is also a Death!Fic.

Elena felt groggy. Why Jenna had woken her up at 8 in the morning was beyond strange...especially on a Saturday. What was so important that she need to get up? Was it anyone's birthday? Did someone die? She shook her head as she stumbled down the stairs and into the kitchen.
Jenna looked up from her coffee. "Well good morning, groggy! You have a visitor. He insisted that he needed to talk to you, but I told him only if he cooked us breakfast," Jenna laughed as she took a sip from her mug. As Elena reached the counter, she saw the familiar dark head facing the oven, whipping up scrambled eggs.
"Ugh...." Her head hit the tabletop, and Damon turned around, a wide smile set on his face.
"Elena! I'm pleasantly surprised that you can even walk at this time of day. How do you like your eggs? Scrambled? Sunny-side up?" He smiled again, and Elena could practically feel Jenna's excitement emitting from her.

it was a cold febuary day at camp half-blood. i was standing on the porch of the big house, watching all the guys running around the fields-from their cabins to the camp store then back to their cabins- trying to see if they had picked the best valentine gift for their girlfriend/crush.
yep, that's right. i said it. valentines day. the time of the year where all the aphrodite campers run around putting pink, red, purple and white silk sashes all around the camp. covering everyone's cabins-including the ares campers- and placing flowers and cut outs of hearts that will talk to you about what gifts would be best to get. yeah, creepy. though, not as creepy as the singing flowers that can make puppies grow from their roots if your lover wants a pet. yeah~, not the best time of the year.

Everyone was concerned if he wasnt coming back ever again, or he had died. After unpacking his stuff in cabin three, he went to go search for his friend Annabeth. He checked everywhere he could before the conch horn blew, telling the campers it's time for lunch. The fire was untamable. It resisted all attempts by the firemen to put it out, hissing angrily at the water from the large hoses, and instead of shrinking it grew, spreading to the flower bed his mother had tried so hard to grow.
That was when it hit him. Their house was burning, and Mary and his mother were still inside. Werent the firemen supposed to check for people? He looked around, hoping that maybe they were safe, that they had been brought out earlier, when his gaze landed on a man standing a little apart from where the trucks were.
