Eyes clenched, Rainbow Dash squirmed and allowed herself to sink deeper into the fluffy cloud that was her home. The afternoon Sun shone down upon her, rousing her from her slumber. She rolled onto her back and let loose a huge yawn. Sighing, the pale cyan pegasus slowly cracked open her eyes and rubbed them with her two fore-hooves. She sat up on her haunches and peeked over the edge of her cloud, gazing at the bridge to Ponyville nearby. Nopony was there.
"Oh, come on, kid," she mumbled in annoyance. "You begged and pleaded for almost an hour yesterday, and now you don't even show up on time."
Rainbow lazily scanned the expansive valley below her. Winding paths snuck between sparse trees and over roll
A sister's regretAfter Luna's return, both she and Celestia shared almost every single possible moment with each-other. After all, it had been a thousand years since this was possible. All seemed to be well again but since her trip to Ponyville on Nightmare Night, Luna was a bit reluctant to doing so. Celestia wasn't completely sure why but it almost felt like Luna was starting to avoid her, only being with her during dinner and other royal duties which required both alicorns to be present. This went on for quite a while until one night when Celestia had stayed awake a longer than usual because of a late letter from her student Twilight Sparkle. She had just finished reading it and was now making her way towards her room, her thoughts still focused on Twilight's latest lesson about how you are always able to share your secrets with your friends, no matter the issue. She made her way through Canterlot castle towards her room. Through the greatly decorated marble hallways and the greatly adorned gallerieA sister's regret3 years ago in Drama More Like This
Camping, Brony style Day 0: Part 1Dusk Shine led the group of ponies up the wide dirt path. Close behind, Twilight read from the map Zecora had given them prior entering the Everfree Forest. According to the map, the forest worked like a storm; the closer to the center you became, the less danger you encountered. Behind them, the rest of the ponies had stricken up a light conversation amongst themselves, except for Rainbow Blitz, who was still pretty ticked that the girls had found a way to come along.Camping, Brony style Day 0: Part 12 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
"And I said, "Oatmeal, are you crazy!?!" The ponies all chuckles weakly as Pinkie and Berry laughed hysterically at Pinkie's joke.
"Ok ok, Ah got one," Applejack said enthusically. "Derpy told me this one." She derped her eyes for effect.
"Two muffins are-a sittin' in an oven. The first muffin turns to the second and says, 'Boy, it sure is hot in here' then the second one screams 'Oh mah gosh, a talkin' muffin!'"
They all cracked up laughing. Dusk Shine wiped a tear from his eye as they continued up the path. The sun was

Prologue: Lost in the Fire
Thrumming rain and thrashing leaves overwhelmed the usual silence of the mid-afternoon air. The library was dark, much too dark for anypony to see properly. The tall, book-filled rooms were usually flooded with sunlight, which on most days would pour through the great tree house's numerous windows and spill onto the floor like an overturned barrel of Sweet Apple cider. Today, however, there was no sun to be spiltat least none that could be seen by the unicorn filly that crept through the shelves of the library in search of a family treasure. Apparently, the building's resident dragon had not cared to light even a single candle.
The Pegasus ponies had set up a regular tempest, something that they had to do every so often when a scheduled drizzle was skipped. That seemed to happen quite frequently lately, though no pony was entirely sure why. Lightning arced across the sky, connecting with the

She would step out on the balcony slowly only to hold her breath for the moment of triumph she was waiting for.
Yet to her dismay, there was, not even one pony awake to look on upon her hard work. Not a single eye even batted to the moon, the stars, just for it to be wasted to watch empty ground.
Disgraced to be alive at that moment, she did a hiss and turned back to her bedroom quarters, it seemed to be this way almost every night. She was ready to give up at this point, why did she even bother to wake at all to rise the gorgeous moon anyways? If nopony even wanted to bask in its bright white glory?
As she sighed, thinking these depressing thoughts, she was soon welcomed with a deep and dark laugh, she would have shook if she was not used to such sounds by her beloved ma

Twilight arrived in the waiting area of the hospital, breathing heavily and now feeling pearls of sweat on her brow. Spike was still clinging to her neck after holding on for dear life. Her friends were already there; Applejack and Rarity stood up as soon as they saw her. "What happened?" she asked into the group while her mind continued coming up with ever worse scenarios.
"We don't know," Applejack said.
"They wouldn't tell us anything," Rarity continued.
Twilight looked at the other two ponies in the group. Fluttershy was still sitting on the bench at the other end of the room with Pinkie Pie next to her, comforting the nearly crying pegasus. It was early morning and they had all been called to the hospital with the message that something had happened to Rainbow Dash, but it did not mention anything specifi

Silence reigned over the Everfree Forest. Ponyville's forbidding neighbour usually held a raucous evening court, the bass rumbles of the manticores punctuated by the high pitched squeaking of the local parasprite clouds. Tonight, however, was quite different.
Tonight, the cockatrice slept easy, its head tucked under a wing. Tonight, the Ursa Minor slumbered peacefully despite the colossal snoring of its mother. Tonight, even the normally unshakeable Zecora unbolted her door and raised her gaze to the stars, dreaming of another time and place.
Tonight was peaceful.
Deep within the silken canopy of the undergrowth one could find a ruined castle, nestled against a cliff-side, all but worn away by the constant ebb and flow of the wind and the wilds. Known as the resting place of the fabled Elements of Harmony, this castle was the ancient home of the Solar Sisters, the rulers of the realm themselves.
Tonight, that castle would bear witness to some

Sunlight shone through the chilled glass of the window panes in the nursery, casting beams of bright light onto the surfaces of the newly-constructed room and its occupants. The beams shone on the walls painted in a in a soft, soothing muted blue color. The aura of cool blue surrounding and filling the nursery created a calming atmosphere for the room's sole conscious occupant accenting her shining blue eyes as she relaxed. Lying against a pile of soft cushions on the comfortable couch set against a side wall was Fluttershy. Supported by the well-used pillows, she took a long deserved rest. Her gaze fell across the room upon the three cribs set near the far wall. Each one was occupied by a sleeping foal, each of their small chests rising and falling in the slow, rhythmic pattern of a deep, unstrained sleep.
Fluttershy smiled, mirth glinting in her dancing blue eyes, at the sight of her children and her niece breathing so softly in their sleep; resting; dreaming; lost i

Right from the start I feel that I should say that this character was effective in her reveal because I honestly wasn't expecting this character to be who she ultimately turned out to be. When I first heard that the plot of "A Canterlot Wedding" was going to involve Princess Cadence in some way having "a dark secret", what I imagined happening was that she was going to turn out to be some sort of villain with a typical villainous plan. And at first that was exactly what I was seeing, Cadence doing evil things and then declaring that she does indeed have some plan in mind.
So at this point the story was going exactly as I predicted. But then part two pulled the rug right from under me by revealing the real Princess Cadence in the caves with Twilight. I was genuinely shocked. I had not thought of the possibility that the Cadence I'd been watching was some sort of impostor. And so, when C

Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes. "Pinkie, I'm telling you, as weird and crazy as you can be, it wouldn't work!"
"Nuh-uh! It would!" Pinkie Pie insisted as they entered the bakery. "We could totally replace your entire house with cotton candy! We could make it float and everything! And you could live in it, and you could eat cotton candy anytime you wanted! And...and, I could live there too! And we could eat cotton candy all day long!"
"...You do make a good point. How much would it cost?"
Pinkie's face scrunched up. "Let's see: move that there, carry the one...oh, boy! Only about ten million bits! What a deal, right?"
Rainbow Dash shook her head and laughed. "Now, where are those cupcakes you promised me?"
"Oh, right in the kitchen!" Pinkie said. "I made them special, just for you! They're vanilla: your favorite!"

"I'm quite well, thank you." Fluttershy smiled and felt comforted just like the night they spent together under the starry skies. "And yourself?"
"I'm pretty good. I'm glad you came over," Big Mac said. Fluttershy blushed excitingly. "I was starting to feel kind of lonely here, even with Applejack."
Fluttershy had felt nervous beyond belief just less than a minute ago, but her words were so fluent, even she believed them. "Well, it's a beautiful night, and Twilight has a lovely observatory upstairs. I was thinking maybe if you wanted to we could go look at the stars together?" Did did I just come up with that?
Big Mac tried to hide a grin, but was unsuccessful. "That sounds mighty fine with me."

This is a fan-fic on what I believe should happen to Discord. The story is mine, and the characters are owned by Hasbro and Lauren Faust.
In the palace gardens was a statue. A statue of some form of chimera, with its face trapped in a permanent look of fear and horror. Everyone in Equestria, however, knew that the statue was Discord, the embodiment of Chaos who, not a few hours prior, had swept Equestria into chaos and confusion. The statue seemed calm, but inside was an entirely different story.
Discord was angry. Very angry. He couldn't believe this had happened again. He would have been annoyed at his defeat, yes, but they just had to put him in this nightmare of a prison. It was pure hell being encased in stone. At least on the moon you could talk, walk and do something. Inside stone, you were trapped in one position, never moving, never seeing, never hearing. Complete and utter isolation until the end of days. He had never tried to do this to anyone.

A Discord/Celestia oneshot after the events of “Keep Calm and Flutter on”
By the dimming candle light Princess Celestia rested peacefully in her royal chambers. Soft warm covers embroidered with gold in the shape of a magnificent sun adorned her flank, protecting her from the cold as she rested from a rather long and tiring day. She felt satisfied with her subjects work to reform the spirit of Chaos. She was currently writing a letter to Twilight, assuring her that all would be well as long as Discord kept his word and showed no signs of going back to his old evil ways. To which her star pupil was to report to her immediately if the draconequus put one mismatched foot out of line.

Twilight Sparkle returned to the library after a long day helping Rarity design a new dress for her next fashion show. The other unicorn had her running all over Ponyville for material and gems and other items. By the time they were finished with the dress, Rarity was satisfied and Twilight's hooves hurt and she felt like she'd run a marathon.
As the purple unicorn trotted home all she could think about was lying down on her soft bed and sleeping until noon.
"Rarity sure is picky when it comes to her designs," she said to herself as she walked down the street. She yawned tiredly. "I mean what's the difference between purple and violet anyway? They look the same to me.."
Something moved behind her. She froze in her steps and glanced over her shoulder, only to see nothing but a peaceful town. She shrugged it off and kept moving, thinking to herself that it had probably just been another pony on its way home. What else would it be?
She looked up at the sky as she wal

As she climbed closer, the grey streak resolved itself into the familiar form of Derpy, Ponyville's reliable mailmare, her less-than-graceful flight weighed down further by the worryingly large bag of letters she was hauling on her back.
"Derpy, Derpy!" Rainbow Dash may not have been blessed with subtlety, but she did have speed on her side. With a final flick of her wings, she caught up with Derpy and did a neat mid-air somersault, to come to a stop directly in front of her fellow pegasus. Derpy stopped, blinking in confusion.
"Derpy!" Rainbow Dash paused, panting, her breath coalescing into mist at the high altitude. Her mind raced she had to somehow convince Derpy to hand over all the post without a fuss. She would have to
My Thoughts on Nightmare MoonRight then, we've finished of the small-fry and now we'll look at the real baddies of the show, starting with the first villain of the series, Princess Luna's alter-ego, Nightmare Moon. And the first thing we need to discuss with regards to this villains is how close I came to not writing this essay about her. Back when I was planning out my thoughts on Celestia and Luna I honestly thought of lumping in my thoughts on Nightmare in with them, given that she's essentially en evil version of Luna. But as I started writing I realised that there was so much I could say about her that she deserves her own essay. So here it is.My Thoughts on Nightmare Moon3 years ago in Reviews & Guides More Like This
The character's introduction into the series was something that was, in my view, handled very well. Unlike other shows where the villain would be thrown in the audience's face right from the start, MLP took it's time to build this character up. First explaining why this character was bad and what her return might mean for Equestria, we're given that small nugget of inf

Applejack wasn't sure what Twilight was talking about, but she knew the unicorn needed her help, and as she took her place beside her newest friend, she knew she wasn't going to back down now.
