"We here at brentalfloss: The Comic are all a little sad about the passing of Nintendo Power.
RIP."

PS: "Nintendo Power" was a long-running game faqs magazine that started in the mid 80's and lasted up until last year when it ended suddenly.

During MAGFEST, Brent and Dan attended a Q&A panel discussion about brentalfloss: the comic. During the panel, they had fans suggest ideas, which they then turned into actual comics. This was one of the fan suggested ideas, suggested by DA resident :icontitanaura:

A video of the whole panel, including a special guest appearance by me via SKYPE, can be viewed here: [link]

CONTEXT: EA released Sim City 5 which required an always online connection to play, even if you were playing single player. Needing to stay connected often resulted in spontaneous disconnects, which could corrupt your town. Coupled with the connection issue was the fact that the servers needed to play online were overloaded, resulting in insane wait times just to log in and play. It was, by far, one of the most disastrous video game launches to date. To apologize for it, EA gave away copies of some of their popular games for free.

"This seemed really hilarious at the time, but now I see it's just my horrible nihilistic view of the world shining through, reminding everyone that our existence is kind of pointless. So, like I said, hilarious!" -Dan Roth

One of the darker brentalfloss strips I've worked on. There were a couple like this which came through the pipeline at the same time that were a little... sinister... in it's humor. So this won't be the last :)

If only Hitler knew he'd one day come to represent 35% of all terrible video games...

Side note: Due to an unfortunate oversight, the tombstone originally said Hitler's birth date was 1989 instead of 1889. We caught it immediately and fixed it within minutes of posting, but nevertheless we got a ton of Benjamin Button jokes.
