Here we have the second part of my pixel art tutorial series. We're taking a quick look at animation this time so you can make all of your pixel art, well, animated. Again, this tutorial is made for people who have not yet attemped any kind of animation so it might not be of much use to those of you who have already dabbled.

Here are all the Snuffles icons made during this tutorial. Below them are a couple of other examples of how you can use the animation effects explained here.

As always, thanks for reading ♥

There are a million pixel art tutorials out there, so I tried to make mine informative, not repetitive.
Hope it helps in some way! - Download to view in full!

Thank you all so much for all the comments in my previous pixel art/ icon tutorial! * U * I made it for my watchers originally and I'm glad more potential pixel artists (and artists alike) go to see it too. Feel free to ask any questions or if you want me to help with your wips!

And here's a download link to FireAlpaca: firealpaca.com/ and Gimp: www.gimp.org/
And here's a link on tumblr: cagedcloset.tumblr.com/post/29... Because I might clear my gallery in future. Do save it if you need it!

As suggested by :iconerikakaiser:

This tutorial says Paint Shop Pro because that is the program I use, but this tutorial can be applied to any graphics program, be it MS Paint or Photoshop :)

This is how I do shading in pixel art. It's really simple when you get right down to it. :P

EDIT: Interested in dithering and further methods on how to accomplish it? Check out my new tutorial.

A couple of people were asking if I did pixel tutorials so I tried to make one! Make a pudding like one of these:

I don't know if this is really helpful or not but I hope someone somewhere has fun making pixel dessert with it *O*

[07.05.13] Updated the tutorial for easier readability.

I've just made new icons for some of my gallery folders and thought this might be useful for some of you. Both premium and non-premium members can use this feature.

You can use the example icon shapes as bases if you like.

If you create your own custom folder icons feel free to link to your gallery here so other people can be inspired by your awesome!

UPDATE:
I save my icons in Photoshop as GIFs c: The background is transparent, I don't have layer with white bg!
You can also save it as png file with transparent background in SAI, but you won't be able to add animation then.
I will tell more about it in the next tutorial c:

Tutorials are all the rage! So here's one way you can make pixel art - or more specifically pixel dolls. I love looking at pixel icons sprout up everywhere but I also noticed a pixel icon trend where the bodies are shrinking, coupled with ginormous heads. I hope my tutorial is of use to anyone and everyone!

I'll be keeping this tutorial here for a while, though I tend to store my stuff so you can find it in tumblr in future here: cagedcloset.tumblr.com/post/25...

This is dedicated to my friends, whether you are an artists, not an artist, a tablet or mouse user or trackpad whatever, you all can pixel!

Feel free to ask questions. o u o

And here's a download link to FireAlpaca: firealpaca.com/
(A mix of photoshop and SAI, simple and quite easy to use.)

ps. sorry if you feel cheated by the title o w u)/ give about 10 more minutes to add hair and clothes!

I was reeeeally bored, so I figured I would make a short tutorial about how I do my pixel art, since I have been asked so many times.

I use MSpaint for all of my pixel pieces. The only thing I use photoshop for is to make the backgrounds transparent.

Happy pixelling!
