Twilight's regretShe had worked hard this week. As much as she'd grown used to it, she still felt tired at the end of every day. Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Equestria. It had been many years since she had ascended to the role of Princess, becoming an alicorn in the process, and still the change had never stopped shocking her. The level of magic she had been able to achieve since her transformation was astounding. And not only that, but ponies from far and wide came to view her as a teacher. It brought a smile on her face to see young colts and fillies come to ask her questions and learn from her. It reminded her very much of how she was when she was their age, learning from her own mentor.
But it was not merely new experiences that this title had afforded her. In her years since her coronation, she had also experienced many physical changes that came with being an alicorn. The most obvious of which was, of course, her size. She had grown quite tall, towering over almost any other pony in Equestria, m
Magical mystery cure - Alternate endingThey were happy. Happier than they'd been all day. The six mares embraced each other in the middle of the street, not wanting to let go of each other. Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and pinkie Pie. Six friends who had grown so close to each other, had now saved each other from a very miserable end. They had been through a very unpleasant ordeal recently as their cutie marks, the symbols of their roles and destinies, had been changed. But, thanks to Twilight and the bonds they'd forged with each other, they had undone that change and were back to normal.Magical mystery cure - Alternate ending3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Twilight, right in the middle of the group hug, gave a long sigh of relief. She more than any of them had bared her share of pain throughout this time, mostly from the guilt she felt over her part in the event. For you see, it was her spell that had caused all this. A spell sent to her by her mentor, Princess Celestia, to try and solve as a part of her studies. Being the dutiful student she was, she tried

The recent attack brought about by the unexpected and hitherto unknown changelings and their Queen, Chrysalis, had left much of the city damaged. By some miracle there had been no casualties, only a few injuries here and there. Of course it made sense. The changelings were, after all, using the ponies as a food source. It made no sense that they'd want them harmed.
Ponies all about the capital were grateful that the attack had left only structural damage. Damage which was easily rectified. But for one lone unicorns, the damage was far deeper.

Princess Cadence was lying on a wheeled table, being moved quickly down the hallway of the hospital, her belly swollen over the last few months. Today was the day. Alongside the doctors was her husband, Shining Armour, who had her hoof in his as they kept moving.
"It's okay honey! Everything's going to be fine!" He said reassuringly.
Cadence smiled back at him. She opened her mouth to reply to him but suddenly winced and she placed her free hoof over her midriff. This clearly caused the doctors some worry.
"Her contractions are getting more frequent! Call in more nurses!" One of them ordered.
A nearby nurse nodded and ran off to carry out the order. Meanwhile, the rest of them had finally arrived at their destination, the delivery room. They opened the doors and moved the table and princess inside. As they moved in. One of the doctors stepped aside and stood between Shining and

"GET OUT OF MY BUCKING WAY!"
On any other day, Twilight Sparkle would never have dared to shout so rudely at anypony, and she definitely would never, ever have used such coarse language. Today, however, wasn't any other day.
She couldn't remember how she had gotten to Canterlot, nor could she, for the life of her, feel any patience for the ponies in the crowded street. She needed to be at Canterlot General Hospital now, even if it meant barreling through every pony in Equestria. Luckily, most of the city's population knew her, either from her time as their Princess' personal student and protégé, or from the accolades she had received since then. Saving Equestria no less than three times doesn't exactly go unnoticed. Either way, the sight of the desperate, frantic, and somewhat well-
Wonderbolt Academy - Alternate endingAs she approached the blue door, she hesitated. Ever since Rainbow's denouncing of Lightning Dust, which occurred in front of not only her friends, but her entire squad of recruits, this was something she knew she had to do. But that didn't mean she had to like it. She'd been practically trembling on the approach to Spitfire's office. What she planned to do here, and what consequences that might emerge from it, were things she did not care to think about. But she also knew that if she didn't do this, if she simply kept quiet and went along with what had been going on, she'd never forgive herself for it.Wonderbolt Academy - Alternate ending3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
She lifted her hoof and pushed the door open. Once open, Rainbow saw within the office. Spitfire was there, continuing to do what she'd been doing the last time Rainbow had visited her, signing autographs. It was understandable of course. Being as famous a flier as she was, Spitfire probably had to spend half her day doing this. Though it was clear from the look on her face that she did
Mi'Amore's LessonThe doors were tall. Taller than any doors she had ever seen before. They were inscribed on either side with gold-trimmed markings. On the left a mark of a pegasi. And on the right, a unicorn. But even the sheer size of that door was nothing compared to the building it was attached to. The royal palace of Canterlot. It had been merely a day since the letter had arrived from the palace. She'd only reached schooling age but rather than having arrangements made to attend some local school, that letter had arrived instead. Her family had read it several times over, with looks of both pride and concern on their faces. They'd explained to her what it meant, th

Twilight Sparkle sat at the edge of what was known as the mirror pond. An ancient and, until recently, fairy tale place that dwelt within the Everfree Forest. She herself had heard of the tales, though only in passing as a child. It was not something she'd ever given much thought to. But, her friend, Pinkie Pie, had come here herself and, through the magic of the pond, made many copies of herself. She had done it in an effort to make sure that she was able to spend time with all of her friends.
The purple unicorn could not help but chuckle to herself. As always, she was just being Pinkie Pie. Only the energetic earth pony could come into a magical place like this and casually cast a spell on herself for the simple purpose o

It had been many months since news had reached the town, that a wedding would take place. An what a wedding it would be. The pegasi, under Rainbow Dash's instructions, had cleared the skies above town of any clouds that might rain today. As such, they could not have chosen a more gloriously sunny day on which to hold the proceedings.
And the wedding was not the only exciting news for the townsfolk. For rumour had it that a very important pony would be conducting the ceremony. Princess Celestia herself was arriving n town to marry the lucky couple, alongside her sister Luna. That in itself was gossip-worthy info. Chapter 16: I know whose tears would come down to me (First draft. Final version in the works)
Rain poured mercilessly in the deafening wind while three young foals slept inside the small chicken coop. The storm's might was ferocious, its malice unforgiving as even the rising sun itself seemed to hide out of fear of the great power of nature and shone only scarcely through the dismal blanket of the intimidating clouds. The heavy gales rattled the miniature house violently while the great boom of thunder shook the sleeping children to the bone. Inside their rickety shelter, Orion and Bucky slept side-by-side, huddled together to keep warm, their crusader capes shielding them from the cold. Their minds were blank, deep within the sleep they needed so badly. Time travel seemed to affect the very life force of all three of the Crusaders as they each found themselves too exhausted to even notice the rampage of the storm. None of them slept in peace but all remained unconscious. Out

Deep inside the Everfree Forest, far away from all civilization, the thundering echoes of magic roared over the ambient chirps of the hidden wildlife surrounding Andromeda and silenced their calls. Sweat poured down her forehead in icy streams as she breathed heavily. Her eyes were bloodshot and her legs felt weak underneath her exhausted body. Every ounce of her might was being channeled into her spell, but it continued to defeat her again and again until the resolve to use magic began to shatter inside of her.
“No, no, no!” she said aloud, shaking her head. “It has to work! It just has to!”
Dirt and moss covered her hooves as she shifted them into a braced position. Slowly, her horn began to glow from a bright yellow to a blinding white. A massive gust of wind blew everything around her like a small hurricane while sparks of blue electricity shot from her horn as usual. E

“It was nice to see you, Zecora! Come visit again soon!” Twilight said to her friend as the zebra led her out the door.
“I must say, Twilight Sparkle, our meeting was quite fine! I assure you, the pleasure was entirely mine!” the zebra called back over her shoulder in her signature rhyme.
That went well, for once, Twilight mused to herself. Zecora had shown up several minutes early, bearing a letter confirming her appointment as Ambassador, as well as a large stack of paperwork containing everything from new trade proposals to military treaties. With each new proposal, Twilight felt her confidence grow; each one had been well-written, respectful, and most importantly, beneficial to both nations.
She stepped into the hallway outside the meeting room and stretched out with a pleasurable groan, contemplating taking a brisk walk before her next audience.

Dusk, had already awoken, but he refused to open his eyes, instead opting to enjoy this moment of comfort. He could lie in this bed all day if he had a choice, but the day itself seemed to have other plans. For not long after, a bird outside the window began to sing its morning song. Although somewhat irritated by this disturbance, Dusk nonetheless opened his eyes.
The sight which greeted his was a pleasant one. He had awoken in a magnificent bedroom, in a cottage way outside of the Ponyville area. The room was well furnished and the window opened to a spectacular view of the rising sun, whose light now filled the room with it's glow. He could not deny that this was quite a sight to wake to. He'd have to thank Celestia when he saw her next. Thank her for this wonderful honeymoon gift.
And speaking of which, that reminded him of another pleasant sight which greeted him as he tu

It had only been three days since she and her friends had arrived in the city, and thus only three days since her colt-firend, Dusk, had asked her that very important question. Twilight decision was not something that she regretted. On the contrary, it made her all the happier. But now that she'd made her decision, there were many things that needed to be sorted out. And one of those things was exactly why she was walking down the city's main street.
For as she continued down the road, she eventually came upon her destination. The royal palace of Canterlot. This place had, during much of her upbringing, been like a second home to her. And it always made her happy to see it. Walking up the main stairs, she eventually came upon the massi
A mother's regretIt was as silent as the grave right now. Twilight sat there, at the other end of the table from Celestia, staring at her beloved mentor with her mouth hanging open. It felt like an eternity since Celestia had spoken, but no amount of passed time could make what she'd said any easier to swallow. It wasn't true, Twilight told herself. This was some sort of joke. There was no way that what Celestia had said could possibly be real. Maybe this was a dream, or even a nightmare.A mother's regret3 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
But deep down, she knew that it wasn't. No matter how much she might wish it to be untrue, she had to face reality, however terrible that reality might have become for her. Not wanting to spend the rest of the day with her mouth hanging open, Twilight finally broke the silence.
The words had been hard to get out, almost as though her mouth refused to register them. Celestia meanwhile, merely sat on the other side of the table and quietly nodded. She said nothing, merely waited for Twi

Bucky's eyesight remained blurry as he looked around, desperately hoping to find something or somepony who could help him. He was in a room of some sort, but felt too nauseous to tell whose it was. His chest heaved with difficulty with each gasp of air becoming more shallow than the last while something clung tightly on his throat. His hoof grasped his neck to feel his Cutie Mark Crusader's cape. He had forgotten that he had put it on, but now it was choking him. Grasping at the knot, he tore it off, flooding oxygen into his lungs. He coughed loudly and painfully, gasping for a while before he sunk his head back to the cold floor. Taking the moment to catch his breath, his green eyes darted around, searching his surroundings. He was inside a small warm bedroom, not the cool basement where he once was. Stuffed animals surrounded him from all sides, their glass eyes watching his every move and motion an

Spike, the baby dragon, had finished preparing the pedestal where he would be putting his latest find. An object that currently held great value to him. Turning around, he laid his eyes on the object in question. An egg. But this was no ordinary egg. For this was the egg of a phoenix. A majestic bird and very rare. Only a handful of people in the whole world owned such a creature, such as Princess Celestia, one of the co-rulers of this land.
Spike looked at the egg with pride. It was a beautiful thing to behold. A bright orange and yellow orb, the colours of fire. Fitting for a bird who's life, ad subsequently their death, revolved around fire. But he was particularly pleased because of what it represented for him. For he had gained this egg by defying his violent dragon nature and overcoming the de

Twilight Sparkle was standing in the middle of the main room of the library, waiting for the young dragon to come out of the kitchen. Soon enough, he arrived, carrying the tablemats she'd been asking for.
"Yep. They're right here." He said.
She smiled as Spike began placing them around the large table twilight had conjured up soon before. She looked around and admired her work. She, Spike and Dusk had spent the last few days making sure everything here was clean and orderly for the big upcoming visit. And she was confident everything would go right.
"I still can't believe it. Shining AND Cadence! Here together for the first time since their wedding!" Twilight exclaimed happily.
It had only been declared a few days ago, but she was still happy about it. Shining Armour and Princess Cadence had managed to find space in their schedules to visit her in Ponyville. She'd been looking forward to it all week. Her smile vanished however as

Although Pinkie was famous around Ponyville for parties of all sorts, the fact that she was willing to throw one for Gilda had come as a surprise for many, considering that they hadn't seemed to be on friendly terms during the latter's short time here. But as bad as things were between them, they seemed even worse now. For Gilda had been the victim of a number of practical jokes that had occurred throughout the evening. And even though the other ponies attending had laughed at the spectacle, Gilda did not.

Princess Mi'Amore Cadenza, or Cadence as she preferred to be called, was watching the gathering crowd with great anticipation. Like many of the annual Canterlot events, ponies from all over Equestria would gather to this city. And although her work often took other all over the principality to meet such ponies, seeing them all gather together in one place was always a rare treat.
This day was the annual dessert contest and many had pulled out all the stops this year. Treats and cakes of all shapes and sizes lined the gardens, waiting for the judges to come by and pass their verdict. She had to admit, it was an appealing sight.
Under normal circumstances she would have loved for Shining to be here today so they could both enjoy it. Unfortunately for the both of them he'd bee

It didn't matter. There was no past, no future. Only the flames.
Oh, there was the light too! A light that came from everywhere! But mostly there was the flames.
Twisting, flickering, burning at her very soul. The pain was immeasurable, but it had always existed, as far back as she could remember, and she could remember a long time.
Or maybe she could... It was somewhat hard to measure time when there was nothing for her to measure it against. There was only the flames, eating away at her, yet never making her any smaller. Forever burning, the fire was all that existed.
Her body was... Wait, did she even have a body? Maybe she did at some point. At least she thought she did. Maybe she did. Luna frowned as she cast a critical eye over the image of herself in the mirror, inspecting herself head to hoof. She turned slightly to get a better view of her flank, carefully scrutinizing the way her current attire perfectly hugged her waist, leaving nothing to the imagination. “I had not expected Rarity to create a gown for me, Twilight, and normally I harbor a most intense distaste for clothing, but this is indubitably the most comfortable gown I have ever worn. Quite exquisite, yet pleasantly simple as well. She is an amazing mare.”
“...Yeah, isn’t she?”
“Darn it, Spike, hold still! Your tie is crooked and I’m not letting you go out there like that!” Twilight groaned, pulling the dragon over so she could adjust it. “Anyway, Luna, I agree. She managed to match the color of your coat perfectly. I can’t say I’m a big fan of the l

The political views expressed by Twilight Sparkle in this chapter were chosen based on her personality and actions throughout Seasons 1 & 2. Said philosophies are independent of the views of the author and how certain views may or may not match his own in some respects is mere coincidence. In essence, this chapter is not a political statement, it is Twilight being Twilight.
Twenty-four hours after the coronation of Princess Twilight Sparkle
Twilight sighed as she felt the last of the tension that had been building between her wings release. Writing to her friends had been oddly therapeutic; it was almost like she was writing to Celestia again. While her mind was still preoccupied with thoughts of Spike’s words, she knew that he was in good hooves, and putting her feelings into writing put her almost at ease. She slurped a bit of soup from a gem-encrusted spoon and put the finishing touches on her fifth, and final, letter with the loopy calligraphy of her sign
