My Little Pony: The Light of Equestria Ch.27
Within the desert town of Appleloosa, every pony, zebra, buffalo, and dragon that were not taken by the Darkness had gathered to discuss plans on fleeing Equestria. It was a hard decision for most to make, but there was no other choice. According to the oldest and wisest of the dragons, without the aid of the Light, specifically from one who wields it as the champion, Courageous Heart, did long ago, there was no hope of summoning the one power capable of defeating the Master of Darkness: the Rainbow of Light.
Even with the numbers that remained, plus the Elements of Harmony, it would not be enough and would only lead to a quick defeat. The Elements had the power to vanquish any lesser evils as they did before, but without the Light, they were now rendered useless.
As all the creatures discussed away, the five mares found a spot away from the group so they could talk more privately. Most of them had Twilight on their minds an

The endless night pressed on; the unfriendly storms that roamed throughout the skies showed no signs of ceasing. The thunder roared and flashes of lightning could be seen, but did not last long enough to brighten the lands of Equestria. But this gloomy sight did not lower the spirits of the many creatures that were gathered in a small desert town called Appleloosa. They were too busy making friendly conversations with the ones that they once despised.
Moved by the words of a certain pony that was respected and honored by all, the buffalo, zebras, dragons, and ponies had put aside their differences and agreed to come together as friends. United after a long history of separation, the six great species of Equestria could finally achieve perfect harmony and drive the Darkness out of their home once and for all.
As the creatures continued to talk amongst their neighbors, a few certain ponies did t

Some ways away from the Zebra village, the two little ponies are being escorted to a different part of the swamps; Their guides are not saying a word on where they are going, only to follow in silence.
Rainbow Dash feels like a prisoner and is getting the urge to fly away and escape, before the opportunity slips away. But she knows it will not do anypony any good, especially that she'd only be letting her friends down. Pinkie Pie, on the other hand, hops happily without a worry in her mind. The zebras do not mind her bouncing, but watch her carefully nonetheless. The little pink pony with the poofy mane has taking a liking to the zebras, and they to her...a little.
After awhile, the group reaches their destination: a wide open lake of the swamps, filled with stones, branches, and other creatures such as frogs and bugs. Both ponies look around and wonder what all this is about.

Every pony and creature within Appleloosa were at a loss for words to what they saw before their own eyes: The black jeweled amulet that Tirek the Supreme wore around his neck was glowing brightly, but not of any dark power; it was the Light itself, the source of all that was Good and Pure.
Whatever was happening made the Overlord of Evil very angry as well as fearful. He grabbed the amulet by the chains that held it and ripped it off. As he averted his eyes from the Light that glowed from the jewel, he bellowed: “HOW CAN THIS BE!?! IT’S NOT POSSIBLE!!!”
“…Twilight…” came the voice from within the amulet, which could be heard by all who were watching and listening, including the one pony who recognized it completely.
Twilight Sparkle gasped as she stared at the Light that did not harm the eyes of her or the others as it did Tirek and his minions. Lost in tho

The mighty Rainbow of Light continued to unleash its purity across the land and remove any remaining Darkness that had corrupted Equestria and the rest of the world. Once all traces of evil recently spread by the Dark One had vanished, the Rainbow faded away.
Courageous and the Mane Six were returned to the ground where they rejoined the various creatures that were at a loss for words after what they had just witnessed.
Equestria was once again the beautiful paradise that existed for over a thousand years. The eyes of the many gazed all around…simply astonished by the warmth of the sun that shined down on this land they call home. Silence was upon all the ponies, dragons, buffalo, and zebras; no pony knew what to say or how to react to finally seeing the Darkness disappear and the Light returning once more.
The silence was soon broken when one pony within the crowd scre

Within the skies above, flying just below the storm clouds, were a total of four dragons and two little ponies. The mid-sized green and purple dragon was carrying his two dear friends, Twilight Sparkle and Rarity, upon his back. He flew alongside three other dragons that agreed to come with them to Appleloosa.
Two of the bigger dragons were escorts for their guests as well as the much larger one leading them: The Dragon Elder known as the Wise One. She was ancient, nearly eight-hundred years old but still had plenty of strength to fly and give assistance to the others. “By the dragons of old, I never thought flying this far would take so long, and be so tiring,” the large, faded red dragon complained.
“But, we have only been flying for fifteen minutes, “ Spike stated carefully and politely.
“Have we?” She asked out loud, “Been that long already? Usually I coul

Finally, at long last, the group had arrived at the Castle gates, and we ready for the next obstacle that might be lying in wait for them. The Front Gates of Midnight Castle stood tall to the eyes of the small group of ponies and dragons that were before it. A dark energy covered the entire area of the entrance, which was without a doubt a barrier preventing any from entering.
Courageous Heart stepped forward to examine the door closer, “Just as I thought: this barrier is of Darkness…one that only the Light can break down.”
“Well then, lets get it down so we can get in,” Rainbow Dash encouraged, “Although I don’t understand why we can’t just find another way in.”
“I…have to agree with Rainbow Dash. Wouldn’t it be easier to find a safer way in?” Fluttershy asked nervously, to which Courageous turned to look at both her and the cya

The green and purple dragon was flying at great speed as the Badlands were within sight. The two unicorns upon his back held on tight as they were nearing their destination at long last.
“It’s been a long time since we were here,” Twilight Sparkle stated.
“Not long enough. I really don’t want to be here,” Spike fretted.
“I know those awful dragons were cruel to you before, Spikey-Wikey, but we must ask for their help, whether we like it or not,” Rarity reasoned with him as she hugged the large dragon.
“Rarity has a point, Spike. But I do agree with you too: dragons have never been kind to ponies, but we have to give it a chance,” Twilight added, “Lets not forget, they are your kind and-”

“Stop pushing me!” yelled an earth pony to the buffalo next to him.
“I was not “pushing” you…I was only trying to get through, and I happened to bump into you by accident,” the buffalo defended.
“Hmph! From your size, I doubt that is not all you bump into!”
The buffalo snorted and glared at the now angry pony. A few zebras nearby were getting very annoyed with their arguing, and came over to separate them both. “Will you two be quiet! We are trying to listen to the conversation the ponies inside are having.” A female zebra ordered.
Although the two wanted to snap back at the zebra, she was right; shortly after the Champion of the Light returned, he was brought into the Salt Block Saloon to rest. Many ponies and the leaders of the other creatures gathered inside, while the rest had to remain outside since there was not enou

The two dragon escorts finally arrived at the front gate of Midnight castle with Garble and his gang riding on their backs. After pushing back the Shadowbolts, they were able to rejoin the group of ponies, along with the wisest of their clan. Unfortunately when they landed, they saw the Elder lying down with a bump on her head. Garble rushed over to his grandmother, hoping she was alright.
“What happened to her?” the worried, red teenage dragon asked.
Twilight Sparkle and the girls explained how she came to be like this, as well as their encounter with a Rock Ogre. The Dragons had no trouble believing them, since they have had encounters with such creatures outside of Equestria, and the rocks around them were evidence enough to prove the presence of one.
“But will she be alright?” Garble asked.
“Yes. She is just sleeping now, but we should let her rest. She

To the southeast of the Rambling Rock Ridge, lies the Hayseed Forest. This place is home to many creatures big and small, mean and kind. Not much is known about this place, nor the swamps that reside further inward, because very few ponies ever come here.
Not long after the six little ponies divided into groups and went their separate ways, both Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie arrive at the edge of the woods. The cyan pegasus with the rainbow-colored mane is flying above the trees, trying to scout ahead. Unfortunately, the darkness of the night makes it difficult. The pink pony with the puffy mane is just below the other, skipping merrily through the forest.
Realizing it is hopeless, the tomboyish Pegasus flies down to rejoin her friend, "It's so dark I can hardly see anything in front of me!" she complains.

“So, what exactly are we looking for, Zecroa?” The curious Rarity asks.
“Somewhere within these pages unturned, may lie the answer to how the Darkness has returned,” Zecora answers as she continues searching for the right page.

Whatever befell that little book that might have had some connection to all this, Twilight only hopes, however unlikely, the book is still in once piece...or somewhat.

Appleloosa: a town way out in the middle of the desert. Built within a year, the pioneer ponies worked long and hard to plant a large crop of apple trees. But before the town suffered any major damage, the chief of the buffalo got a taste of their pies, and after reaching an agreement with the sheriff of Appleloosa, a solution was found.
The apple trees that were planted on the path of the Stampeding Grounds were removed while the rest remained around it. The ponies shared their delicious apple pies with the buffalo and since then, they have both remained good neighbors.
