One day, humon was surfing the internet.
She was just looking at her favorite pages when all of a sudden a new tab opened up.
She was confused, since she didn't click on any link whatsoever. The tab didn't show anything, just a white screen. When she tried to close the tab, nothing happened. She kept pressing the X to close it, but instead the tab turned to full size. Suddenly, the white screen of the tab turned completely black.
It wasn't only the tab screen that turned black, all the button and everything else on her screen did the same.
Even her mouse disappeared off the screen.
After a little while, she decided to turn her computer off because she simply thought it was broken.
This was a fatal mistake.
Out of nowhere, a full screen picture of :iconcaptainfanclub: appeared on the black screen.
It was most unexpected.

One of the reasons I focus so much attention on Marvel and DC is because they’re big companies who should know better. They are made up by hundreds of people all chipping in little bits here and there, and for that there is no excuse for bad artwork, bad writing, or bad material in general. They are, to an extent, a bit of a cheap shot, but everyone can learn from their mistakes and I can offer my opinions about them and what I personally would do differently. And if you’re paying money for their products, I think you deserve good content in return, no?
SYAC is, at it’s core, about how comic artists and the comic industry works and poking fun at the various things they get wrong... and sadly that includes a lot of really hot button topics like Women’s Rights, Sexism, Racism, Homophobia, etc. Comics are no longer their own sheltered little thing... they’ve been THRUST into the mainstream audience and all of these problems we or
Pick a sideThis is just going to be a rant about something that has been on my mind for a while.Pick a side1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I keep hearing people, religious or atheists, say "You have to pick a side. Picking a side is important. Are you religious or atheist? Picking a middle way like agnostic is cowardly"
You want to know what side I'm on? I'm on the side of I want state and religion to be separate and for it to otherwise not matter.
It's usually people who come from countries where religion still has a big hand in law who feel strongly about this, and I can understand why. Where they come from it is important, but the entire world isn't like that. In the part of the world I come from it doesn't matter if you're religious or not.
You don't want the abortion because of your religion? Fine, no one is going to force you, but if you do, you can have it. You don't want to get married in a church or have your child baptized? Fine, we'll take care of that at the City Hall. You're gay and want to get married in a church, but

"Explicit Pornography"?! Aw, jeez, guys. You must have the worst collection of porn on the planet to think that was explicit.
A 90s Rochelle Swanson outing was more explicit that that pic, and that stuff got aired, uncut, on terrestrial UK TV (god bless you Channel 5, you made the young Jack jolly).
I believe that, for something to be labelled "explicit", SOMETHING must be visibly going in SOMEWHERE. Such was not the case in the offending image,

Two identical worlds are joined by a sun door. After 15 minutes, the door will open and the worlds will be connected. During that time you have to gather as many emeralds as you can to trade with the testificate traders. Doing so will earn you valuable items like diamond swords and armor. So Nintendo released this today: https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=316135481893472&id=224173137756374
In case you didn’t go check it out, it’s a screenshot of a costume option for Zero Suit Samus which has her dressed in basically a sports-bra outfit. An obvious nod to the “Justin Bailey” code from the original Metroid (or Zero Suit Mission but honestly who cares?).
I honestly wish I could get mad over this, but I’m frankly just sick and tired of this kinda crap. I already apparently “offended” people with my rants about her ugly ass high-heel-boots several months ago, and I don’t wish to go through with that again. Not to mention there does come a point where complaining about “fanservice” in a game ALL ABOUT FANSERVICE becomes kinda... gauche.
Just for the record though, I am not against this outfit per say. There is nothing wrong with wearing sports
The Role of Men in Geek SocietyThis is a reposting of a tangent I went off on over on Twitter the other day (with some extra clarification added to make it a little more cohesive). I felt that in the wake of all this GamerGate/Feminism/Women in games/comics/geek culture stuff going on that I should at least talk about men’s relationship to it all. So here ya go!The Role of Men in Geek Society6 months ago in Personal More Like This
It's not that harassment of men doesn't happen, it's that women are far more likely to get harassed and have it be gendered and much worse (source: http://time.com/3305466/male-female-harassment-online/ ). I've never been harassed because I'm a man. But nearly every one of my female colleagues have been harassed because they're women. Men don't get harassed the same way as women. Their insults are usually directed at opinions, not their gender. Women, on the other hand, usually get BOTH.
It also seems like there's more harassment now than before, but that's because there are more women IN those geek stratus and we ha

A Brief History of Marvel's Film RightsSome people took interest in this from my last journal ( Spider-Man and the Avengers ) so I thought I’d try to explain it better here. Please keep in mind that this is a SUPER CONDENSED version of events that took place (starting 60 years ago) that led to the convoluted mess that is currently Marvel’s various film franchises. Also keep in mind that I will be using industry shorthand like saying “comic book industry” to refer to the American comic book industry giants of Marvel and DC, because that’s how we do things here. Anyway, here we go!A Brief History of Marvel's Film Rights5 months ago in Personal More Like This
“Seduction of the Innocent” comes out (a moral panic book which blames comics for kid’s wayward negative behavior), massive book burnings and censorship of comics ensues. Old comics burned or lost, thus increasing the value of the few comics that remain.

Recently I've been thinking about drawing in general and what it means to me.
A certain old hag who paid a visit also helped, like in every good story. She asked me what I liked to do in my life. I told her my passion was drawing. The old hag replied that that was a hobby and asked again what I wanted to do. The little frog tried to explain that a passion is not a hobby at all.
Passion is not something that "makes us feel good when we do it", that would admittedly be a hobby.
Passion is something that makes us feel bad when we don't do it.
Physically bad. You can have love, money and health, but if you don't follow what your passion bids you to do you can never be happy. And, as egotistical as that will sound, if you don't at least try to be happy in your life, I'm not even sure if that life would be worth living. Unfortunately in this story the little frog doesn't win, nor the old hag dies...
But there's a point

Voices in your head.
Multiple Personalities Disorder (now known as Dissociative Identity Disorder).
What pops into your head when you read those words?
Images of people sitting in a dark corner, laughing maniacally?
Jokes about the voices in your head agreeing with you?
Or something darker?
Do you picture people crying, lost and scared, unable to stop the nightmare plaguing them?
Do you think about doctors struggling to understand their patients' minds?
Do you laugh? Shudder in fear? Mourn for those suffering from their invisible ailment in psychiatric hospitals?
For me, it's a combination of fear and sadness.
I have a pretty bad fear of anything medical, so all those old (and sometimes
Sucker PunchedThis is a LONG one so settle in!Sucker Punched1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I’ve been re-watching Sucker Punch a lot lately and have been humorously admiring how misunderstood it is. It’s almost comical how a movie that comes right out and says “I am about the negative connotations surrounding the constant sexual abuse and objectification that women endure,” gets reviewed and dismissed as “just another pandering male geek fantasy of objectified sexualized women.”
I could write a book on the various subtle metaphors and messages Sucker Punch visualizes, but I don’t wanna bore you all. But to demonstrate what I mean let’s just dissect a small piece of it.
Before we begin we need to understand two things. First, Director Zach Snyder made the film with the express intent of it being a feminist critique on geek culture. If you don’t believe me, hear it from his own words: http://www.filmschoolrejects.com/features/interview-zack-snyder-on-the-sexuality-and-world

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.The Used Game Paradigm2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr
My Minecraft Testificate InfestationIn Minecraft there are these squidward like villagers called Testificates. In a recent update they were given new abilities such as having babies to repopulating a town based on the number of houses there are. Since the requirement for a "house" is simply a room with a roof and a door, I decided to spend my time building a massive city for the Testificates to populate, using a generated village as a starting point. My Minecraft Testificate Infestation3 years ago in Personal More Like This
After building a number of houses, I began noticing the little children running wild and there becoming quite a LOT of villagers. I undertook a huge task of building a BIG open area underground with a couple doors and lights. Because the area was so big, the Testificates began to... um... OVER populate.
These little buggers reproduced the village so fast that I couldn't keep up and soon they were overflowing out of buildings. Mob attacks couldn't keep up with the rate they were repopulating, and the iron golems that kept spawning (for every 15 villager a new one spawns) made

HIDDLESTON. HIDDLESTON. TOM FUCKING HIDDLESTON!!!
In case you were unaware, this handsome beauty before us is the brilliant actor Tom Hiddleston. He is very tall, plays a Norse god, a detective's assistant, a rich lord's son, a captain, and various other roles as well. He is kind, and apparently responds to written letters with his own written letters scrawled in the most terrible, but precious handwriting. Had I the chance to write this man, I would FRAME the letter.
(Insert: Tom Hiddleston)
I LOVE this man. His smile, his eyes, his hair- GOD THAT HAIR- and I want him both for breakfast, lunch, dinner and on Tuesdays if weather permits, for BRUNCH as well! He is lanky compared to Chris Hemsworth, (Thor) but that gives us many things to admire from him, including the following (in no specific order), which I enjoy very much:
1: His neck.
Look at this man- look at that neck. So perfect and thin with arched lines and small freckles here and there. Just t

But one of the coolest things about nerdfighteria is that we have our own minecraft server called... wait for it: Nerdcrafteria!
Nerdcrafteria is one of the most awesome Minecraft servers I have ever participated in. The server is broken up into several different worlds. The Main World, The Nether, Minington, and Gladitorial. All of the worlds have borders around them preventing players from roaming too far and making the strain on the server too much to handle, but all of the worlds are also massive enough that you likely won't notice.
The Various Worlds
The main world is where towns and cities exist. You cannot break blocks here except on town plots that you purchase with the server's equivalent to money = Llamas. This helps prevent griefers from destroying all your hard work and gives you a place to call home. If you don't have enough

Let's just go over what I posted yesterday: I voiced that I have no opinion on guns in America, because I don't live there and as such; don't care. I said that I, personally, am afraid of guns and think they're industrial killing machines. And I posed a vague, hypothetical question that could have been applied to any situation where an old law/doctrine is in effect.
That's it. Nothing more. Harshest word in there was "change" followed by a question mark. Not "ban", not "make guns illegal" and certainly not "outlaw free speech and trial by jury", which some people with a slightly looser grasp on reality seem to think go hand in hand with owning the firearms I said I don't care about.
Well, today, I am going to post an opinion: if you're the kind of insecure, paranoid little twit that flies off the handle when someone poses a simple question, and who holds weapons and the laws that permit them with such religious reverence that you perceive that question as not
Resting Up and Suggestions?Stressed OutResting Up and Suggestions?3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Sorry I haven't been around much lately. I think I need time away from the internet. Both to relax and to brush up on my artwork. I am genuinely sick of all the hate surrounding my namesake online, and when I say "genuinely," I mean it. The stress that the recent resurgence of trolling I've gotten has caused me to be quite ill. I know I shouldn't let what anonymous people on the internet say about me get to me, but it does. I need time to recuperate, to spruce and fix up SYAC, and to get back to a point where I genuinely enjoy drawing again. Right now there's no love or passion in my artwork, and it's mostly because of my defeated attitude: "Why bother, they'll just tear it apart anyway."
That whole "project positive" has been a complete bust too. I failed to live up to the idea, and in the process got really sick. I guess trying to force out a constant positive attitude like that was a mistake.
Still working, plus a surprise!
In the meantime, I have still be
Sexism in Gaming Culture LINKSSo... that last journal was a doosie wasn't it? 500+ comments and counting! Yikes. I can always count on Anita Sarkeesian to give me tons of views, lol. All joking aside, that was a very serious batch of discussions. Anytime we talk about sexism and objectification of women in gaming or geek culture, it's sure to get a lot of responses.Sexism in Gaming Culture LINKS2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Sadly since Anita is such a hot-topic around the internet, there was more than one person who were trying to claim that there actually isn't ANY issue with the game industry involving sexism at all. To them, this whole idea that women are marginalized or objectified or treated badly both in the gaming industry and in geek culture is just false. It doesn't exist. And any attempt to explain why we need to change things is inherently flawed because there's no reason to do so.
So in the interest of trying to debunk that bullshit, I made a list of sources I accumulated around the internet to prove that this is indeed a problem. I think everyone can benefit f
