Introduction:
So here it is! I am finally working on this for those of you who've been so patient. I am working on making this flow a bit better so please excuse its immense length since I have been adding a lot. I hope you guys enjoy chapter one and the rest of the story once I can get around to posting it! I am writing Dib's parts and Invader-Neo is writing Zim's. I haven't edited much of hers because she writes like a boss!

Dib clung to his new friend almost as if he weren’t planning on letting him go. He pressed his face into the soft fur, his face strained with a permanent smile for he was quite glad that for the first time in his life, he had found something that seemed to care for him.
After a moment, he spoke to little Einstein. “You want to go to the park?” he questioned as he reached for the leash and clipped it to the dog’s collar before standing up. He headed towards the front door and opened it, looking back at the other.

After hours of seemingly endless play, Dib and his small puppy finally fell asleep on the living room floor only to be awoken by the sun only a couple hours later. Dib groaned in annoyance as the rays shone in through the window, reaching for a blanket next to him to place over his face. Einstein stretched a bit with a yawn as he curled up under his neck where it was warmer. It seemed like nothing could disturb the two.

Morning came early for the traumatized boy, his alarm blaring loudly in his ear that morning. It was another school day, but would he dare even risk it? The answer was an obvious no as he slammed the top of his blaring alarm with a tight fist, then covered himself back in his blankets. After lying there for several minutes to think over his situation, he considered that maybe some human interaction would help clear his mind... Maybe someone would finally talk to him.
That was a shot in the dark though when it was really considered. What would make today any different from the others to the point someone would speak to him?

Upon arriving home on that quiet, eerie night, Dib was relieved to find that no insane Irken had followed him. He was alone now, and he had the feeling he would have a peaceful night in contrast to the others he had experienced.
As Dib had made his way into the house and up to his room, the lingering smell of day old blood hit him. It wasn’t quite as harsh and foul as the pile of junk found in Zim’s closet. However, it was enough to make the boy groan in both agony and nausea, but the smell didn’t seem to stop him from hobbling to his bed and allowing himself to collapse upon it.

Dib bit down firmly on his lip before shakily stepping forward and pulling him slowly up the creaky stairs. Since it was dark, he squinted his eyes in an attempt to see a bit clearer in the small amount of light that he had. As he slowly made his way up the stairs, whispering the Irken’s name in an attempt to draw him out from his hiding place. In a situation such as this, Dib preferred to know where Zim was rather than him be out of sight with the possibility of a surprise attack.
