I am writing this essay for several reasons. The first is because Deidara is a very fascinating character, and there is so much more to him than meets the eye. I enjoy writing fandom essays and developing theories, and I couldn't think of anything more fun than analyzing and explaining my favorite character of all time.
I also want to write this essay as a resource for myself and for others. I get into a lot of pairing and character debates, and Kelley and I write our essays to "outsource" our arguments. Our main points are

Tattooing has existed since the very beginnings of Neolithic human expression and has since those ancient beginnings continued to be a reliable flash indicator of personality type. There are those people who get tattoos and there those people who simply do not. Even though the social opprobrium for getting inked has greatly disappeared in recent years, and even though skin art has become almost boringly de rigueur amongst rock guitarists and other entertainers, there is still one element that separates the tattooed from the non-tattooed in terms of artistic appreciation: commitment.
Tattoos may be the first “interactive” art form. The art lover doesn’t just buy an artist’s artwork – he or she becomes one with artwork, he or she commits to becoming a living canvas for the artwork, he or she, by choosing the tattoo to be borne forever, shares authorship with the tattoo artist of the artwork. Paint Tool Sai on Mac with tablet pressureHow to: Get Paint Tool Sai running on a Mac with tablet pen pressure supportPaint Tool Sai on Mac with tablet pressure3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Surprisingly a lot of people don't know that you can do this.
In every stream someone asks, "What program is that?"
Artist replies, "Paint Tool Sai"
Then someone else says, "I want Sai but I can't use it because I have a Mac,"
Not true! You actually can. It's not that difficult, either.
Using virtualization software, you can get Sai running on a Mac inside a window as if it were a native Mac program.
I use it to ink almost all of my pictures, in fact.
Fair warning: This does cost a bit of money. You're looking at at about $150 at minimum to buy both Sai and Windows licenses, and add another $50-80 if you choose to get priced virtualization software.
At that point you might want to consider instead getting Photoshop Elements 11 for Mac ($100), but if you want to run Windows software and games on your Mac as well as Sai, this would be the best option.

Marts-NZ: "Her work is just amazing, i love coming back to see the immense beauty she creates."
InsomniaSquared: "Her art makes me feel like I've been kicked in the face by a unicorn dancing in a meadow of pansies and fairies. What I meant to say is: really excellent art!" (this is the most original comment i've ever read!)
Aside from praising her amazing skills and works, i will add that she's also a wonderful person, kind and involved with the community, always wanting to spread the dA love to everyone she meets.

Seriously, too often do I get emails and notes regarding to doing work for a stranger or having a stranger asking permission to use my art, and often their compensation will either be non existent, or potential exposure.
And I know I've made a journal entry about this last year but still it never hurts to remind ourselves of what's happening with our industry.
I can't stress enough of how frustrating it is trying to explain to those who are doing work for free because they're desperate, or those looking for artists to work with but have zero idea how this whole infrastructure operates.
If you are a person seeking an artist/craftsman's time and service, be prepared to offer compensation just as you will be needing to pay after eating at a restaurant, or having a plumber coming into your home to fix your clogged pipes. And if you're new to seeking out the aid of an artist for your project. Be

You guys are so supportive and I love each and every one of you. Yes even you with your weird foot fetish art. My beautiful freak. <3
So to show my appreciation, much like last year, I'm taking requests for free. However unlike last year I will not be doing every single one- nor will they all be sketchy headshots. In fact some may be a full fledged illustration, bust, headshot, sketch, or nothing at all! SUCH A GAMBLE.
I'll only be doing characters that peak my interest. So yeah just think of it as random hehe. (Though I'm fond of girls, knights, and anything that can glow obnoxiously hinthinthint)
These will be done randomly so check back frequently on my DA/DoodleTumblr to see if yours got chosen <:

Please leave a comment in this journal only (no notes) I can hide comments if desired. leave any information/refs you think I need, even ideas for pictures! Not guaranteed ofc. But yeah need those refs please, even a t

So you want a Daily Deviation? You work harder than ever before on an image, checking every bit of it to see if there is anything else that can be done. With a bit of pride and excitement, you post it and get a little excited as people post some comments and faves to it. This is the one that is going to flood the gallery directors inbox with suggestion notes as people flock to suggest it for a daily deviation. Some people might have even told you they suggested it, all you have to do is wait for your spot in the sun as it gets featured. So you want a Daily Deviation?8 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Well, some time goes by and nothing happens. Maybe the admin has a ton of suggestions and the suggestion note was not opened yet. Some more waiting, no feature. All the excitement turns to a variety of negative feelings as time slips by. Maybe the frustration causes you to question why you even bother with it all. "Why are people with smaller galleries than mine, or less time here than mine gettin
A little opinion...About the frontage thing... I think more than change the "popular" system, a new options set for the frontage are needed. This is not because I could be somewhat affected by the change, my pics keep appearing in FrontPage and the watchers are still following my work (and I thank you so much for that ) but because I saw a lot of people misplacing art and taking advantage of the new system, helping even more to create the odd idea of a popularity "goal/prize". I like the idea of the popular frontage because it works pretty much like a musical ranking and it was a tool to know public´s preferences: wich kind of concepts/ideas/colors/styles works better and like a test to know the effect of a specific work. Somewhat of democratic voice, that helps to know to the public a bit more.A little opinion...3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Before you ask, NO, I don't think that the goal of an artist is to be popular and I don't think that "popular=better" I saw both as different parameters that sometimes goes hand by hand and sometimes runs

People i just discovered why i couldnt get true blacks on my cintiqs, or other monitors, blaming led technology. But envidia was the problem at fault.
Color value are from 0 to 255, i mean from black to white, thats good for photoedition, but real bad for games.
Nvidia cards were built for been in video games, so they dont use those values, they use from 16- 235, so you are skipping the most crucial colors for coloring, but for editing it will SUCK.
So i had found a great web page, with a little software for pc users, that you run it and restart and you get solid blacks, this had made my callibration so easy, it was the graphic card the problem.
Just download the program, unzip it, execute it, and choose from 1 to 255 values, restart and its done.
If you dont like it you can revert it by clicking again the other option.
Corel painter works incredible with those values. You notice this more if you have your monitor connected in hdmi mode.

Because it was 17 minutes long, it requested me to verify my YouTube account. Of course, at that moment I had no clue I could solve anything and that any verification process even existed. I thought I only had to make the video shorter. But then I had to reinstall Windows and the recorded video got lost in the process. Only yesterday I found this option on my YouTube channel and now, voila! It's up!

The Witchas Multifaceted Icon
Throughout history artists of every discipline have been fascinated, inspired and transfixed at every historical stage of the shifting perceptions of the “Witch” in any given time or society. The seams within every page of every chapter written against or in defense of the witch have been alternatively filled with oppressive sexism, blind eyed religious bigotry, occult doctrine, fevered and forbidden lustful sexuality, misplaced fear, and reams of wide eyed superstition.
Consequently, the colors, and lines within every stroke upon every canvas and visceral depiction, carry all the burdensome weight of the long intricacies of this subject. With respect to this much maligned, religiously and politically repurposed, perpetually misunderstood subject

Even before i animated, i always had a habit of drawing friends into comics. In secondary school i would draw them all the time, if just to get a quick laugh or to insult another. Originally my group of friends in school were he cast of what i called 'Edd's World', most likely inspired by Wayne's World. Eventually i started using the internet more often and started using Neopets with Matt and others, which lead to me making a Guild and then a Guild website.. and that Guild was called 'Edd's Kill-a-thon'... yeah. A few weeks later after some angry threats, the admins removed my guild for having too violent of a title. So i made a new one and called it 'Edd's World' with a lame little Geocities webpage linking to cool stuff and funny pictures. Soon i started using an animated gif maker to make very bad anmated gif stories, mainly about stickmen dying and farts and what not. When i finally found a place to submit them (www.sfdt.c
the importance of failingsOften times i see many artists on all levels expressing their expectations from their current progress and seeing it as they fail. They feel this way because the type of level that is set is not only high but its constantly changing to grow higher even as they are progressing passed levels of artistic skills.the importance of failings2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Imagine a horse rider holding a fishing pole with sugar(your artistic level you want to reach) by the end of the string. And you the artist is the horse pursuing it.You are progressing forward but your goal is also being set higher as you progress.
And of course you will never ever reach the level that is constantly changing and i think this is an idea that every eager and striving artist should be comfortable with. To be comfortable with failing. This is not to say that you wont reach new levels , because you will. The levels you set up when you started out are much lower then the levels you set in your current phase.
The tough part is of course to stay on trac
