The Blame Game. The Blame GameThe Blame Game.2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
How about we play a game.
So we will know who is to blame.
We'll spin the dice and take a turn.
And hurt each other until it burns.
I can't believe what you have done.
Filled us with lies of Kingdom come.
You preached of a God oh so great.
Yet now it seems we are of different fates
There will be no hypocrites beyond His door.
Nor salvation for the wicked to their core.
No place for the deceitful with silver tongues
or those who have been lost since they were young.
For you who cant stand to see your mother.
Have only become a dreadful bother.
Spewing your hate from here to there.
You will one day face a life so bare.
You speak of a Kingdom and Father's love,
Yet when faced a problem; were the first to shove.
A coward hiding behind twisted lies.
Then questioned why we broke all ties.
Don't get me started on your transgressions.
Your problems you caused with pure aggression.
You fought, and screamed, and manipulated.
Your husbands left beaten and berated

What is in a pronoun change?
Don't understand what gender means.
Just a label it would seem.
Sealing yourself in a different box,
Boarded up, covered in locks.
Why can't we just break free?
Won't anyone join in with me?
No longer define by a gender.
No meaning behind him or her.
These labels won't get you far.
Everyone should be who they are.

a well of misfortune, shattered hours,
pieces of night and liquid decades.
A bird crosses the universe
and in the corner of eternity it warbles
a song that encloses everything.
I escape to the route of tempest:
the galaxy, oniric labyrinths,
a spiral path to madness.

sends her children out
without their shoes or coats -
nothing but a trail of crumbs
to find their way back home?
They all find their way here.
Maybe it is the scent of holidays
freshly baked inside my kitchen
or the sight of spice drops
glistering in the rampant dusk.
The children like my house -
my rich ginger carpets
so easy to get lost in
and the pink pillows
puffed and glossy with promises.
They do not notice me watching,
how my fingers slip around their wrists
to measure their meager lives
or how I can smell when
they last ate their supper.
They only smile at me
and beg for more chocolate
in greedy little voices
and ask if they can see
what's baking in my oven now.

curdle the air, but still
you dream; half-moon
body curled in the
lamp light. I am leaving,
I am leaving, choking on
some holy word—
the floorboards creak,
a sonata for my
whilst you, hair tangled upon
the pillow, are spun gold.

Deep in the stillness,
I wander but a ghost thru mists of shadow & sanguine ..
And the trees bathe in the mystique of Night’s serenade
Covet thee my love immortal,
for we are hunters of a dream untamed;
poetry bleeding into the abyss ...
Candle whispers drink a sky of wine, unto where I sojourn —
in the caress of your lips, and ache of darkest Moon

FearFear4 years ago in Concrete Poetry More Like This
Fear; An inevitable force of terror
Its power evolves throughout the world, in all different shapes, sizes, and forms
Fear is the very weakness of the human body that renders the movement, and functions of the human body, unstable
Fear is the very corruption in the dark corner of the mind, wanting to take control, so its vessel will fall to the very brink of madness
Fear is the very cancer flowing through the circulatory system, unleashing its deadly venom to cross through the veins
Fear is the very dark desire burning into the heart, building up, waiting, to carry out gruesome, unspeakable acts of violence
Without these things, fear, is obsolete, and will cease to exist
But this does not matter, for fear is an ongoing nature that we cannot destroy
And those who attempt to do so, will later be consumed by its horror

tomorrow is not worth waiting for.
sure, there will be sunshine (with
a slight chance of rain) and sure,
some kid will be smiling, and yes,
life is still
but it's not like anyone cares.
you just want someone to love you,
misery and tears and all. maybe you
could spend saturdays curled up
under the covers, memorizing
the patterns of breathing. maybe
you could count the seconds but
the problem is that there would never
be enough, the problem is that
there's nothing there to love.
no one is listening.
i'd write you a letter, but
you'd never read it. i'm stuck
screaming into my own heart,
wondering if anything is in there
anymore, wondering if
this is even worth it.
wake up, self.
you want to force fingers
down your throat just to cause
self-destruction, you want
to suffocate yourself (it's
easier than breathing), you want
to sleep and never wake up, you
want to find your dreams and destroy
every one of them.
you want to die.
NiagaraI could walk to Canada if I wanted to,Niagara2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
and sometimes I do:
show my passport,
pay the toll and cross the bridge
the Falls are prettier
from this side, the streets cleaner—
I can go right up to the railing
and watch the
of the water, mist tinted
artificially blue and green
the fireworks’ shout
resounding in my mouth
and glinting in my eyes
I think about how people
dreaming of this land,
trudging through hundreds of miles
of hostile territory,
feeling joy rush like a river
through their chests
upon a glimpse of it:
150 years later
I walk five minutes
and it’s under my feet.

and your fingers between mine,
warm and damp in the heat.
my legs stick to
plastic lawn chairs,
my body sticks to yours
like bubblegum-fresh paste,
melting into you
and liking what it becomes.
black asphalt boy,
you are sizzling leather
and suffocating air
in an overheated car.
we walk across the shore
and the soles of my feet
yearn for the cool damp sand
struggling for breath
between the waves.
"I don't want to
forget this," I say,
and you smile and
close your eyes
like the sun setting,
slowly, streaking down
the sky of your face.
the sun is so far but
you're right here
and I think I might
be in love with you.
I'll move on to autumn
but you'll still be
in summer, forever,
living and living
until the day you die.

Like a broken mirror.
Looking at the wreckage,
My reflection unrecognizable.
A broken image.
A broken heart.
I'm cut by the shards
As I try to piece it back together.
My blood sprinkles the surface
Like a red rain.
The mirror is whole again.
What's left of the dream.
I look at my reflection,
And tears finally begin to fall.
Why Poets DrinkChrist,Why Poets Drink2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
there is a reason poets drink.
Abstention feels bad -
infertile and stuffed, swollen.
It does not sell books
or win those brass
angels on ribbons.
Tonight my lover is bourbon,
distilled in some soul
south of Carolina.
It plays tricks with colors
and the sounds on my tongue.
It grows words where
none have loitered for weeks
and handfasts me to
the rest of the world.
It is ransom -
a jest of seasons
and my bone idle brain

of a city named after the last thousand years.
a breeze floats by
and for a moment your hair lifts off your shoulder.
the way it doesn't touch you,
i want to touch you.
there are traces of lemon in your light,
a vague sense of mint on your fingertips.
the way honey tastes
drifts inside your shirt.
entering the city
walking calmly while the light falls
is like listening to your voice,
like waiting at the bell by the river
for a clamoring to do justice
to the patterns on the water.
the way the bells never end
i want to brush my hand against yours.
the way you drop lemon into your water
i want to live.
