Savior - Chapter OneThe following story of love is true. And by true, I mean false. It's completely made up. But in the end, isn't that the real truth? The answer is, no.Savior - Chapter One7 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
This night had started like any other. Felicia had left her apartment to go visit her best friend, Jon Talbain. Jon was a werewolf, but Felicia didn't mind, since she was a catgirl herself. She had never been able to admit it, but she had feelings for him, and had ever since they first met. She hoped she would some day be able to tell Jon how she really felt...
However, things shortly took a turn for the worst. She was attacked by a group of thugs who intended to steal from her. The catgirl fought back valiently and almost managed to scare them off when she felt a blunt blow to the back of the head.
Then...everything went black.
When Felicia awoke, she found herself unable to move. She tried to scream, but she couldn't make a sound. She had been bound and gagged, and the gang members she had fought were standing over her. The leader appr

She lay down on her bed in her school uniform with her shoes off. She had taken off her jacket and vest due to the heat. In her hands was unsurprisingly, a book. However this was one book she wanted no one to see her read.
‘Ninja’s of Love’ A book of which she was a huge fan. This was one fact that she wanted no one to find out.
It was for this reason that she picked this specific period of time every week. This was the period where Ruby and Weiss had class together, and Yang took extra practices with her Ember Celica. This period of time lasted for roughly one hour, more than enough time to get some good private reading in.
However today would be different. How? That difference came in the form of a golden-haired school-uniform clad brawler girl bursting through the door with no warning whatsoever. This girl went by the name of-
“Yang!” Blake said, momentarily forgetting what she was holding.

Ruby had an exciting dream her first night at Beacon. She dreamed of a fierce battle against dark, wolf-like creatures. She readied Crescent Rose and charged to meet the fearsome foes in battle within the snowy field. A wolf lunged at her, but she was prepared. She readied Crescent Rose to slince the lunging wolf. To her, everything was in slow motion. Just as she was about to pull Crescent Rose’s trigger to propel the razor sharp blade in a decapitating strike:
She flinched and giggled.
The moment’s distraction was enough for the wolf to land on her, pushing her to the ground. Ruby fell, her head hitting the soft snowy ground, the breath leaving her dream-body. She looked up at the snarling-shadow wolf. She gulped, and feared for the worst, she closed her eyes as the wolf’s head drew closer and then:
“Wake up little sister!”
Ruby opened her eyes to the smiling face of her big sister Yang Xiao Long, still in her pajamas. Ruby gr

Oh finally! A place we can take a break!” Weiss exclaimed as she caught sight of a clearing with a river. She sat down on the edge of the river, resting her aching legs and feet.
Ruby sat next to her and enjoyed the break as well.
“Ohhhh, it feels so good to take a break!” Ruby exclaimed happily.
“Ruby, we’re taking a break, could you not shout it out to the world?” Weiss replied in an irked way.
“Geez sorry Weiss, I’ll be quiet.” Ruby said quietly.
“That’s all I’m asking.”
Ruby shrugged and started running her fingers through the water.
“The water feels nice, you wanna soak your feet for a bit?” Ruby asked her.
“Uhhh, well ummm.” She hesitated, her toes curled in her boots.
“Aww c’mon, just for a while. Aren’t your fee

That's not what she meant. She wasn't amused.
There's that long awkward period of mourning you go through when you stop being part of someone's life, when they stop being part of yours. You do things to help you cope, maybe workout too much, run too far, move to a different city and start drinking all the time. Coping mechanisms. I tried them all, and in the end, I dried up, slowed down and poured myself back into my work. It's ironic that the thing that killed us wound up being the thing I turned to in order to save myself.

To visit Daddy and Mike.
After, she called their flowers lovely,
Then asked, "Where's Daddy?
Where is my Husband?"
For the first time in fifteen years
I dream of Mike, him driving up
In Mother's big Oldsmobile,
Then waiting. We talk, he nods.
Now, I realize he has come
For Mother. As the old ones say
To take her home. I go to her
Bed, grab her hand. I'm waking,
Mother's hand cooling in mine.

Will go to select a coffin

I went with Mother to choose
Mike's. Yesterday, my Mother died.

And twisted, the world
Broken, scattered bits of glass.
Over a Wasp, Down a MountainDuring the years before I stuffed a Ford Taurus full of my earthly belongings and pointed it toward Texas A&M, my family had an annual ritual involving a dying piece of technology. Every year, never at the same time, either Mom or Dad would find some kind of reason to go shuffling through the Buffet, an ancient piece of furniture with which I grew up, guarded for decades by an ugly ceramic frog that Dad won in some contest or another.Over a Wasp, Down a Mountain5 years ago in Stories & Vignettes More Like This
The Buffet was festooned with drawers, one of which was solely devoted to stacks of tiny boxes of Kodak slides. What are slides, you ask? You see, kids, before we could take pictures with our telephones, our cameras burned images onto thin strips of delicate and temperamental material called film. When we had filled up the film with photos, we would take it to some disgruntled teenager in a tiny booth in the middle of a parking lot somewhere, and about a week later we go back and collect the results, either in Prints or in Slides. Days after the amnesiac figure called Zero was re-awakened, he joined the Resistance against Neo Arcadia. The ruler was a robot named X. According to Ciel, this X is actually a copy of the real X, who was said to be Zero's partner. Right now, Zero couldn't remember anything at all, but right now, he had a mission to report. He had a mission to destroy computers that were hacking the systems in the Resistance Base. However, Ciel had reported that the Trans Server wasn't working at the moment, so Zero had to return to the Base on foot.
When he entered the facility, Zero noticed one thing right away. There was water everywhere. Almost the entire facility was flooded. However, there were platforms leading to a secret chamber where the computers were being held. After Zero had destroyed them, he exited the room, and jumped into the water to swim back to the Base to confirm that his mission was a success. But then, Zero suddenly stopped and his eyes widened.

I spent a week drying it out, preserving it, taking care that the tattoo was still visible. Once I was convinced that it didn't stink, I threaded the zip-tie through the wrist, hung it over my head and tucked it inside my jacket. Good thing, because I don't think this group I hooked up with would understand. Some of them still have their husbands, wives, kids, moms or dads out there. They still hope. They can still look at the moon and think to themselves, maybe you're looking at the same moon right now. They can stay warm with that thought as they drift off to sleep.
All I know is, if you're looking at the moon, you aren't thinking a damn thing. Not even of me.
I take it out now and then, when it's my turn on watch. Everyone else is asleep, or trying to be. I take out your hand and look at that tattoo. I did it for you, while I was learning the trade. It looks like shit, but you loved it.

This gives me special powers. Ie., I can drink vodka upside-down.
Warning: heavy drinking may cause phantoms. Cinematic ones.
In bold American sports cars, burning on highways upside-down.
That's how the dead roll. Like dice, or green numbers. Like cats.
Their logic is internal, peculiar. It only appears to be upside-down.
Like a cat, I observe phantoms. I am, at times, caught staring.
In ceiling-corners, the ghosts of spiders dandle upside-down.
But that's how I roll. Like cars on highways. Empty bottles. Cats.
Eighteen shots makes you a ghost. It turns me upside-down.
I am oft-capsized. Eighteen hours into your future, I am also drunk.
The cat, observing, finds that I no longer have an upside nor a down.
