nvm I said I was going to sleep but I might as well update this description now
so yEAH this was a huge leap of faith, technique-wise. I sorta combined my usual cel-shading with something more painterly, and it actually turned out quite nicely? I'd really like to develop this style further, it's actually slightly faster than my lined/shaded cel-art (no more need for lineart, just slap colors straight on the sketch. hell yea.)
this was also a huge leap of faith for my punnage skills but let's not get into that
First and foremost, this post is totally dedicated to
Ever since I saw some of the first large pieces of Donadak art she posted on her deviantART page, I was kind of interested in the species. But I never really adopted one. I wanted one, but no color ever really screamed at me that much.
Until I saw the spectrum version. The possibility of all those colored crystals was just awesome! So I adopted one and then waited very patiently until I managed to get a spectrum potion and low and behold my Taevalia was complete. ^^
However, with seeing all the new spectrum pets popping up everywhere, I was starting to look at her and see a rather plain version of her true potential. I kept meaning to make a pet overlay for her, but I never got around to it.
Since I woke up this morning wide awake after only 3 hours of sleep, a pet overlay was as good of an excuse to keep me busy as anything else, and believe you me I am beyond thrilled with the outcome!
The Silver Keaton is a main character from my fanfic, Lost In Termina. He can also be found on my LIT account
Keaton's Bio: "Fun and games? Or a Lesson to learn? That is for me to know and for you to decide." - Silver Keaton
Name: Normally called Silver Keaton, his real name is unpronounceable through english speech. Species: Fox. Race: Keaton. (Commonly called "The Ghost Foxes) Age: 102 Yrs old
Personality: This mischievous old fox is cunning, and extremely wise. But as every Keaton, he loves scaring people and playing tricks. He enjoys the sight of chaos if it's not hurting anyone. But an injustice to those who've done nothing wrong can awaken a beastly side of himself that most beasts have, and can be quickly angered, but knows when his anger is necessary. Mostly, he's fun-loving, and fun company to have around- For the most part. When bored, he'll nosily go through people's thoughts with his ghostly, psychic abilities. He can even open peoples thoughts up to eachother, allowing two people to speak telepathically with his own magic, so long as he can hear their thoughts as well. A little hint he knows, though, is that only those who think similarly can telepathically communicate without any problems at all, whilst those who think quite differently from eachother, can hardly understand eachother. He loves being a walking riddle, and if he does get the rare chance to see something in the future, he'll only foretell half of it, and let the person figure out the rest. He knows a lot more than he let's off. But will sometimes act clueless to a situation to get under people's skin. But he's very caring, and will help anyone if need be, and loves playing, spending time and sharing his knowledge with the children of Clocktown. He's always had a soft spot for kids. He has a spiritual connection with the Great Fairies of Termina, and can speak with them if telepathy is clear enough.
Strength's: He's wise, quick, and has extreme senses. He can run for miles if need be, and do short-range teleportation, and even some low levitation due to his species' abilities (Which is how they were given the name Ghost Foxes). He can use a certain type of Fox Fire, and can control who and who it does not burn. His mind-reading abilities give him an advantage in learning of his foes next moves, and is extremely agile.
Weakness': He can sometimes get a little too into his jokes, and completely lose sight of his current goal. Teleportation, Fox Fire, and Levitation take a lot of energy out of him, and usually resorts to simple teeth-and-claw combat when triggered on natural instinct if a fight happens too fast or isn't given much time for thought. His mind reading skills can be hard to handle when listening to multiple people at a time. If he's carrying someone, he can't use Teleportation and take them with him, it'll only make him vanish, and drop the person he's carrying. He can, however, levitate and float shortly with someone on his back if on a high place. But it wears him out quickly.
Story: The Silver Keaton is an enigma to most. He one day showed up in North Clocktown near the playground. He's told very few people he's a hundred and two years old. He's more than likely seen many of Termina's greatest, and most horrible years, including the Moon Fall. Which was when 50 years ago, the moon began falling to earth.
As of currently, he was sent by the Great Fairy to meet two heroes, when Termina was under attack of the Dragalfos race, when they began kidnapping the Great Fairies! Little did Keaton expect, these two heroes were mere little Teenage Deku Scrubs. His first thoughts on the two were instantly filled with intrigue, upon reading their minds and learning their secrets... These two were in no way normal Deku Scrubs. The boy known as Jace had a few deep secrets of his own, and was an exceptionally skilled fighter for his age. Iris, the girl who accompanied him, was not of Termina, but came from the land of Hyrule. A great and mighty country that was from the realm of which the great Hero of Time came from. This realm and country was parallel to Termina and it's realm.
