This journal exists because the other one's getting old and i needed something to keep this interesting. Also, the amateurish journal skin i created years ago annoys me and since i'm an absolute N00b when it comes to CSS i thought it would be best to finally remove it.
The last nights i was biking through our town to do nightshift (i love doing that. Not a single soul around and you realise how quiet even the civilised parts of the world can get) and while letting my thoughts flow i was grabbed by some intense nostalgia for some reason. I remembered my childhood especially and....how ridiculously naive i used to be back then. The way i saw the world, all the things i had to learn and understand first (the very anatomy of „sarcasm" for example).
I remembered some cases that appear especially wondrous to me nowadays when i think about it so i thought it would be funny if i share some of them.

Premium Member 'til Hell freezes overWhat's this?Premium Member 'til Hell freezes over4 years ago in Art Features More Like This
I've seen this question countless times now. And I decided to answer it
Premium 'til Hell freezes over......
Basically it means that the owner of the account (deviant) has the perks of being a Premium Member until forever, but that is only for Volunteers and Staff Members.
Since recently, deviantART made it possible that you can buy the status for yourself, and it lasts for 7 years.
So who receives it?
Staff Members , Volunteers (and those who bought the status! )
For Staff and Volunteers, after their term is over or they step down from their positions, they become Senior Members. Their 'til Hell Freezes over Premium Membership doesn't go away.
Becasue they work and worked really hard for the Community and deviantART.
And don't you think that this is a really nic
Beware of Fraudulent ChargebacksI know I've said in my previous journal that I will not be updating my deviantART until my final exams are over. However, I believe this is an issue all artists (and other freelancers who work by distributing digital goods) need to be aware of.Beware of Fraudulent Chargebacks5 months ago in Personal More Like This
I have just been hit with this silly hoax and am currently fighting a few chargeback cases against the card issuers. Recently, I received a few emails like the one below:
Essentially what a chargeback is is a forced refund. In this particular case, the buyer is purchasing a commission from the artist via Paypal, and, after receiving the commissioned piece, the buyer will file a chargeback. Here is an example of what it will look like:
I am quite upset; I am losing approximately $100 USD + a chargeback fee in this dispute. None of the clients displayed dissatisfaction with the product, and other than the aforementioned emails, there has been no communication between the me and the buyers, despite any attempts. I don't know if it's a case of
an introduction to my Anthro universe.. :PI got a question the other day, about what dog breed Sam and Saunders in their anthro form is supposed to be.an introduction to my Anthro universe.. :P2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I started answering the comment, but soon found out it would just end up being a looooong reply... And I thought, as I wrote, that maybe others would be interested in what breed they and their relatives are, as well as Spike's breed, some character origins, how the people (or anthro) in my little fictive universe views their fellow inhabitants, and a bit of history around this whole thing.
Therefore, I'm deciding on writing a journal entry about this.
The different breeds.
Saunders and Sam were originally, when I first created and designed them, supposed to be Golden Retrievers. Thus, they did in fact both have floppy, furry ears just like the Golden has. For some reason, I felt this made the characters look sad, so I changed - I think - Saunders' ears first to stand up just like a Terrier's ears. Sam's ears changed shortly after. I kept this change as I thought it ma

Dante vs. Bayonetta Chapter 1Nighttime has fallen on a city in Europe. The lights of the city shine brightly amidst the darkness. Buildings and landmarks were all aglow for the citizens and numerous visitors to enjoy. The various taxis, buses and other vehicles aided the street lamps in illuminating the city streets. There are many people walking the streets either to go to dinner or tour the marvelous sites and other attractions. This is evening hustle and bustle, and it's just as active as it is during the daytime. Every hotel was filled with visitors from across the globe as well as local residents. People entering the hotel are greeted with a pleasant smile and are promptly and properly serviced. The hotel's restaurant, along with other restaurants, makes sure their customers are provided with excellent food and complimentary service. Last week at E3, the excitement, creativity and future of our industry was on display for a global audience.
For us, the future comes in the form of Xbox One, a system designed to be the best place to play games this year and for many years to come. As is our heritage with Xbox, we designed a system that could take full advantage of advances in technology in order to deliver a breakthrough in game play and entertainment. We imagined a new set of benefits such as easier roaming, family sharing, and new ways to try and buy games. We believe in the benefits of a connected, digital future.

PromptsIn November 2010, we posted a poll about it and discussed the idea with a lot of you, and at the start of the new year, we started posting writing prompts to inspire your writing ventures.Prompts3 years ago in Personal More Like This
What is a prompt? Some sort of theme or topic, a sentence or perhaps even a song or movie clip that would be designed to spark your creativity to write something about it. As of now, we're posting a prompt bi-weekly, but we're open to changing scheduling based on your feedback. Each new prompt will be submitted individually, while this blog will remain as an archive of previous prompts. Feel free to come back and be inspired by prompts that you may have missed!
Also, send any prompt-inspired works to us via note! Please specify which prompt was it written after so your watchers know, and we do too. (: we'll then include it in the New Prompts folder in our gallery.

June 1st is a pivotal day for us here at ProjectDFC. We transition from May Mixup Madness (MMM) to Jubilant Japanese June (JJJ), our newest in a series of challenges and contests set up to make you cry and laugh with both frustration and excitement!
Jubilant Japanese June is essentially a celebration of the beauty of Japanese poetry and all that it brings us. There are many forms created and cherished by the Japanese culture and I believe that we should explore them all. This month. RIGHT NOW .
There are three challenges this June.
The first is merely to complete at least one of the following forms:

New Mickey Mouse CartoonsHave any of you been watching these? Animator Paul Rudish (famous for Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack) has been hired to do 19 animated shorts featuring Mickey Mouse and company. The cartoons are, naturally, very graphic and reminiscent of the 1930's "rubber limb" style, but with a modern twist. Here's a sample:New Mickey Mouse Cartoons1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Sorry fans from other countries, but apparently this is only for American viewership Although I am told that if you install something called ProxMate in your browser you can unblock them for your region...
As of this journal there are 4 of the 19 shorts currently available on YouTube under the names New York Weenie, Yodelberg, Croissant de Triomphe, and No Service.

When and How to EditLit Basics WeekWhen and How to Edit2 months ago in Literature Features More Like This
Earlier in the week I got into what editing is and how to love it. Now, let's talk about the entrée following this apéritif: when to edit, and how to do it. And, perhaps even more importantly, how to stop.
Stop, you say?!
Yeah, it's really not that hard to get caught up in this perfectionist funk where all you do is wind around in circles on the same piece. Curb it from the beginning by having an idea of where you want to end. What should the reader walk away thinking about? What should the reader walk away feeling? Do things move fast enough to be interesting?
I stop editing when I get to a point where all my edits are just minor wording tweaks. At that point I'll go back and forth, and I'm not even changing the overall impression the story creates. If it's not productive, it's not worthwhile.
Now that we've gotten dessert out of the way:

Tired of the Video Game IndustryWith the PS4 on the way, the gaming industry is alive once again reminding us how dull and boring and... wrong... it is. Here's a quick summary of some of the things I'm sick to death of hearing about when it comes to video games.Tired of the Video Game Industry2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Polygones = Emotion
I'm sure you've all seen the jokes, but this one stems from David Cage, who gushed over the tech demo of an old man's face for the PS4, remarking about how the only way to get "true" emotion is by bridging the uncanny valley with high resolution models, hi-def textures, and realistic shaders. "True emotion" of course can't be found in books, TV, or cartoons because none of those things can depict the exquisite details of a wrinkled face in true HD glory. I'm sorry to say this, David Cage, but if I can get an emotional response out of 16-bit pixel sprites from Chrono Trigger, or a pictureless book... your logic is faulty.
I'm really getting tired of everything wanting to connect to everything else. I know
The Dining Philosophers - a ProblemEpicurus muttered, "None of this affects me at all," excused himself, and slipped out the back door practically unnoticed. That left the table unbalanced. On one side were the ancient worlders: Plato and Aristotle, heads together in deep discussion, and Socrates, who appeared to be gently questioning Miletus while Sextus Empiricus studiously withheld judgement on the proceedings. The opposite end of the table was mostly held by the enlightenment gang, with Lao-Tze as the sole outlier, holding down the farthest end of the table as he watched the proceedings, imperturbably. Voltaire had given up on his hopes of getting Lao-Tze to appreciate his witticisms, and shifted his focus to Rousseau, who was trying to hide behind the equally imperturbable bulk of David Hume. Neitzsche was berating Hume, loudly, and making wickedly poetic assertions that made Spinoza occasionally put his head down and "facepalm" though he quickly converted the gesture to what appeared to be a thoughtful forehead-rubThe Dining Philosophers - a Problem2 years ago in Personal More Like This
You Don't Deserve a DDYou might deserve a Nobel Prize (pluripotent stem cells omg). You Don't Deserve a DD2 years ago in Literature Features More Like This
You might deserve an Olympic gold medal.
But you're never, ever going to deserve a Daily Deviation.
neuropls what is this.
Dudes, a DD is a feature, not an award. There's no objective standard that goes 'here you deserve a big prize now.' Hell, it's not even about the artist being a talented young newbie or a curmudgeonly old fart.
It's about the art.
It's about bringing underexposed art to the forefront for a whole day—yeah, as far as features go this one is probably a bigger deal than being in a journal only twenty people click on, but at the end of the day it's still a feature. Nothing wrong with getting excited over it (or peeing yourself or wondering whom you managed to piss off), but it's not exactly resume material.
So now that we've gotten that out of the way…. There's the occasiona

Sexuality, is it a choice?Sexuality, is it a choice?1 year ago in Personal More Like This
**Please feel free to re-blog this post through my tumblr page!:
Also, a personal explanation on asexuality.
Ok, so maybe I'm not really asking this question. But oddly enough the subject has been bouncing up and down a lot recently. I have seen large arguments on facebook and other social networks that for some reason are getting on the "sexuality is a choice" bandwagon. To be honest... I thought we were finally past this point of narrow-minded-thoughts.
So according to this choice in sexuality, this means we can choose to be gay, straight, asexual, bisexual, pansexual, or etc.
But it doesn't work like that. We don't have a "choice". the only choice we have is whether to come out with it or not. The choice to hide our sexuality, the choice to ke
