Wolf DreamShe dances alone within the forest’s embraceWolf Dream2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
Every movement a swirl of agile feline grace
Here in this moonlit glade where she is safe.
Her companions come on soft silent paws
Accepting her completely despite nature’s laws
Ignoring her scars, darkness and human flaws.
She runs on fleet foot quietly behind the pack
All senses fully alert from her eyesight’s lack
Flying like the wind she never once glances back.
They may find her someday out in this desolate place
This essence of wildness wearing a semi-human face
But never would she willingly rejoin the human race.
ScentLeaves are covered in dewdrops that shatter in the rainScent2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
I walk on gravel with the evening mist at my heels
At the green river I watch currents wash away the foam
Ants hide between the cracks of the white-painted concrete
Sparrows eat the bitter bright fruit of the hawthorn
As I run away from the scent of fallen apples
I am crowned with wilting rose petals at night
The streetlights scatter streaks of gold upon my feet
As I speak of kingdoms with mute animals
I left my voice inside a jar that fell from the windowsill
I listened to the shattering song with ears of lace
Made a forest out of moss in a medallion
I fed the holy dove seconds by the frosted bench
Echoes of lone feet on a concrete square
Time turned into a flashing light behind the fence
In a ring of silent muses with tearless eyes
Patches of oil paint on their gypsum chests
I write with the quill of a seagull
The dewdrops never break
Foam returns from mists of time
Apples stay in midair

you must have seen a weakthing.
I am tough, boy;
centuries passed laughing through broken bones.
When I ran my hair through your fingers
you must have felt a babygirl.
I am old, boy;
a lost continent lies within my soul.
When I wanted sleep to get me from your arms
you must have thought I can't dream alone.
I am cold, boy;
a blanket would suffice.

Hiding from them.
Hiding my colors
Fading to gray for them.
A bored color
A fade, a shade
Of what it wants to be.
It wants to be so many colors
But it has to be boring old gray.
Just for them.
Joy"You are your actions," he declared.Joy2 years ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
She actually agreed with him, but he was too serious for his own good. His convictions were wasting away his joy.
She lit her roll-up and announced "I am Light."
Exasperated, he rolled his eyes. She read them: silly, stubborn, childish... Too many adjectives were scribbled in his pupils. She didn't care for any of them.
She smacked the mosquito on his arm; "I am Death."
Shocked by the impact, he parted his lips. She read them: sassy, audacious, preposterous... His silence was practicing a wider vocabulary, but his eyes were struggling to hold on to the former ones.
"I am Affection;" she caressed his knuckles.
"I am Kiss;" she moved in.
He laughed; she read his crow's feet: joy, joy, joy... He was momentarily done with descriptions.

My words won't dance
nor will they sleep or hide.
A thousand screams echo through:
I won't cry, I won't cry, I won't cry;
my hands won't tremble, the drums won't die.
I was never real thus I can't be erased;
the words I utter will in dreams remain.
His teeth oblivious to my heart running down;
my deaths are as glorious as the days I am born.
Spring has come to taunt me once more,
by the ankle I dangle over the city wall.
A thousand kisses flow through;
my knees are weak, feverish my thoughts.
The empty rooms turn into cellars so dark;
I don't even remember if I were ever loved.

after a day of freedom
new places possess…
My body inches towards you;
my nose eager for your skin.
I follow your mouth.
I follow your breath.
I fall asleep…

From deep dreams I surface;
rest of him frozen in silence
he mouths the words he fears.
He doesn't know how loud his heart beats.
The Truth is Hard to Come ByJust stop to thinkThe Truth is Hard to Come By2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
How this looks,
As all those people
Give you funny looks,
She asked: "Spare a fag?"
And he said: "Give me a fiver,
Or if you're a slag,
We could swap some saliva "
Oh, no, no,
You two seem well acquainted,
But true friends are hard to come by,
And I see with a sigh,
In this man you think you've found one.
Just stop to think
How you'll feel,
In the morning when you wake
In the bedsit where the paper peels
From the walls, "Where'd you go?"
She asks, from the empty bed,
And she takes the dough with woe,
And leaves with loins and eyes both raw and red,
Oh, no, no,
Though you seem quite well acquainted,
True love is hard to come by,
And she realises, she sighs,
In this man she didn't find one.
NocturnalWrapped up tight by my own wings,Nocturnal2 years ago in Free Verse More Like This
I hang upside down
while the blood rushes to my head
inside my cobwebbed cocoon,
Ultraviolet rays flicker against my eyelids
in colors I have never seen,
yet maybe I have once before,
I saw them the first time your skin brushed mine,
a kaleidoscope of solar energy
making me blind enough to see the light,
Your voice now echoing in a frequency
only I can hear,
it ricochets through my thin bat bones,
lingering along my teeth
so I can taste the way you sound
along the backside of my cavity,
But now you've been bitten
because I have no control,
my incisors sinking in to your handsome heart
because you are ripened fruit
in the dead of Winter
and I am a parasite
in Summer's wake,
If only the day ever met the night
maybe we could meet again,
but for now this must be enough,
so I return to the shelter of my own wings
to protect myself from the sun
and your own astrological luminosity.

as she draws her brush across the page -
thick black strokes and delicate lines
gallop and whinny their way over hot-pressed cotton,
muscles stretching with the fiber,
hooves beating on ink-stained dirt,
every movement brimming with power and grace,
responding to the gentlest touch.
sometimes i think she doesn't know the magic she creates.
after so many hours spent studying
the alchemy of pigments
and searching for the essence of equine nature,
she meditates to the sound of brush on paper
and lets go,
her spirit dancing in soot and iron across the page.
