Dashed Hopes- The Love of a Pegasus Father
I could feel her little hooves pressing down against by back. She jumped up and down excitedly as she gazed at the podium floating in front of us. A massive crowd had gathered, pegasi from all over Cloudsdale standing around, anxiously awaiting the verdict on which city would be lucky enough to host the Equestrian games that year.
My little Dashie had been so excited about it. For the weeks leading up to it, the announcement was all she talked about. Once a filly obsessed solely with flying, the Wonderbolts and napping had found a new stock to invest more of her passion into.
She bought so much Equestria Games memorabilia: from customized t-shirts and hats to even a pennant flag that she constantly trotted around the house with, waving it around while singing the Equestria Games’ anthem at the top of her lungs.
It didn’t matter how many times I told her the decision to hold the Games in Cloudsdale wasn’t set in stone a

"A family is a little world created by love."
"Happy Hearth's Warming Eve, Squirt"
The streets of Ponyville were empty- everypony had gone off to celebrate the holiday. The air was chilled, with an indigo sky so dark even the most dim stars stood out like giant fireflies. The sides of the street were lined with a thin layer of snow. It was an unusually snow-less Hearth's Warming Eve - briskly cold, but not cold enough for snow to remain in its crystallized state.
Scootaloo slowly trotted down the empty road, head hung low and tail tucked between her legs- both out of depression and as a means to keep herself warm in the chilly night air. The gentle gust, persistent in its presence, made the filly's purple mane flicker.
She lifted her head, her set of violet eyes looked left, then right. Nothing but darkened shops and illuminated homes, candles perched in the windowsills, flickering behind the glass as she walked on. She thought about her final destination - her

Princess Cadence was lying on a wheeled table, being moved quickly down the hallway of the hospital, her belly swollen over the last few months. Today was the day. Alongside the doctors was her husband, Shining Armour, who had her hoof in his as they kept moving.
"It's okay honey! Everything's going to be fine!" He said reassuringly.
Cadence smiled back at him. She opened her mouth to reply to him but suddenly winced and she placed her free hoof over her midriff. This clearly caused the doctors some worry.
"Her contractions are getting more frequent! Call in more nurses!" One of them ordered.
A nearby nurse nodded and ran off to carry out the order. Meanwhile, the rest of them had finally arrived at their destination, the delivery room. They opened the doors and moved the table and princess inside. As they moved in. One of the doctors stepped aside and stood between Shining and

CHAPTER 2: Orion's Big Day
From the moment the first rays of sunshine flowed through his bedroom window, Orion Sparkle woke up without a single ounce of hesitation, threw off the warm covers that enveloped him, and jumped out of bed. The room was cold and the world outside looked even more frigid, but instead of returning to the toasty embrace of his dreams, he only felt more awake than ever. His sister Andromeda often joked that it would usually take nothing short of magic to pull him out of the peaceful comatose he called sleep, but this was no ordinary day.
Life and enthusiasm rushed through his body in great vigor this morning because today was his birthday. Even more important, though, was its significance. All night long, he dreamed of finally getting his cutie mark and showing it to his friends. The “oohs” and “aahs” still reverberated in his mind as he rushed to a mirror, unable to contain his excitement any longer. With a quick turn, he spun hi
Twilight's regretShe had worked hard this week. As much as she'd grown used to it, she still felt tired at the end of every day. Twilight Sparkle, Princess of Equestria. It had been many years since she had ascended to the role of Princess, becoming an alicorn in the process, and still the change had never stopped shocking her. The level of magic she had been able to achieve since her transformation was astounding. And not only that, but ponies from far and wide came to view her as a teacher. It brought a smile on her face to see young colts and fillies come to ask her questions and learn from her. It reminded her very much of how she was when she was their age, learning from her own mentor.Twilight's regret2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
But it was not merely new experiences that this title had afforded her. In her years since her coronation, she had also experienced many physical changes that came with being an alicorn. The most obvious of which was, of course, her size. She had grown quite tall, towering over almost any other pony in Equestria, m
Mi'Amore's LessonThe doors were tall. Taller than any doors she had ever seen before. They were inscribed on either side with gold-trimmed markings. On the left a mark of a pegasi. And on the right, a unicorn. But even the sheer size of that door was nothing compared to the building it was attached to. The royal palace of Canterlot. She'd always seen it from afar, but never this close. Given recent events, it was clear she'd be seeing a lot more of it in future.Mi'Amore's Lesson3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Mi'Amore Cadenza her parents had named her. Cadence as she preferred to be called. A young filly, a child. Her hair tied back into a ponytail. A filly who had no idea how much her life was about to change.
It had been merely a day since the letter had arrived from the palace. She'd only reached schooling age but rather than having arrangements made to attend some local school, that letter had arrived instead. Her family had read it several times over, with looks of both pride and concern on their faces. They'd explained to her what it meant, th
Friendship is magic - Alternate endingShe almost couldn't believe her eyes. After what seemed like a night that would never end, the sun was finally rising. Twilight stood in the middle of the ruined castle, surrounded by the friends she'd made. Rainbow Dash, Applejack, Fluttershy, Rarity and Pinkie Pie. All of them had, much to her surprise, become incredibly important to her, and together, they'd achieved a great victory. Not only had they discovered the long-lost elements of harmony, but in doing so, they had also vanquished the mare who had threatened the land with eternal night. Nightmare Moon.Friendship is magic - Alternate ending2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
But now that they had won, the sun's first rays were creeping over the horizon, and with them came a familiar voice. To her friends, it was strange, but to Twilight, it brought a smile to her face. She knew that voice well, and the pony it belonged to. As the sun rose, another light approached the window of the ruin. There was a blinding flash as the six mares covered there eyes. But when the light dimmed, they looked on in joy
Magical mystery cure - A slow recoveryIt was a beautiful day in the northern reaches of Equestria. The rolling hills and grassy plains were, under the bright yellow sun, truly a sight to behold. Going straight through the middle of this lovely countryside was a single long train track, and upon it, a brightly coloured train. It was moving along at a good pace and heading towards a place that, until a year ago, was nothing more than a frozen wasteland. Within the train were a multitude of ponies, earth, pegasi and unicorn alike, from many different villages and towns to the south, all travelling together towards the northern Crystal Empire.Magical mystery cure - A slow recovery2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
But among them was a particularly special group of ponies, and one young dragon. In a car towards the back of the train, a close collection of friends were all sitting in their seats, admiring the view. Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Applejack and Spike were all doing their best to enjoy the train ride, which was usually something they looked forward to. But not today. Bec
Hearts and Hooves Day - Missing SceneThe sun was shining brightly today. The sky was a clear blue and everywhere you went in the parks of Canterlot, ponies were smiling and laughing.Hearts and Hooves Day - Missing Scene3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
But then, they had good reason to be happy. For this was hearts and Hooves day. And on this day, like it was every year, love was in the air. Mares and stallions alike spent the day with their "very special someponies". You could not go two steps forward without laying your eyes on some happy couple enjoying each others company.
But sitting on a grassy hill in the middle of the park, was one pony who did not have a smile upon his face. A white stallion with a blue mane, wearing a rather ornate red uniform of a captain, who sat there on the top of the hill, and was experiencing worry like never before.
Over the course of his time as a member of the royal guard, he had been against many things that might cause other ponies to quake with fear. He had faced down raiding parties of dogs without hesitation. He's fended off hydras and manticores. He

Chapter 15: Saviors and Secrets (First draft. Final version in the works)
Bismarck took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. His eyes wandered around the large interior of the barn and, for the first time, remembered. Despite the horrors of the storm, the situation of the unexpected time travel, the injuries, and the mounting tension between him and his best friend, he was home. Somehow, deep inside, this place calmed him. Sweet Apple Acres was his sanctuary and no other place in the world could replace it. Even as a foal, he loved Ponyville in a way few others did. Looking across the barn, he could see things had probably not changed much in the past twenty or so years. It was nearly exact same as it was in the future. Reality returned to his focus once more and weighed on him in the form of a heavy sigh when his gaze met Radiance's. The white unicorn now lay on the ground, back turned to him. Bismarck got up.
'Ah wish this situation was just a bad dream,' he thought, 'but it isn
Nightmare Rarity - Alternate sceneSomething was terribly wrong here. Even at his young age, Spike could tell that something bad was going on. That darkness had transformed her into the monster known as Nightmare Moon, and whose conflict with Celestia had forced the latter to imprison her beloved sister here in the moon for a thousand years.

Wonderbolt Academy - Alternate endingAs she approached the blue door, she hesitated. Ever since Rainbow's denouncing of Lightning Dust, which occurred in front of not only her friends, but her entire squad of recruits, this was something she knew she had to do. But that didn't mean she had to like it. She'd been practically trembling on the approach to Spitfire's office. What she planned to do here, and what consequences that might emerge from it, were things she did not care to think about. But she also knew that if she didn't do this, if she simply kept quiet and went along with what had been going on, she'd never forgive herself for it.Wonderbolt Academy - Alternate ending2 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
She lifted her hoof and pushed the door open. Once open, Rainbow saw within the office. Spitfire was there, continuing to do what she'd been doing the last time Rainbow had visited her, signing autographs. It was understandable of course. Being as famous a flier as she was, Spitfire probably had to spend half her day doing this. Though it was clear from the look on her face that she did
A mother's regretIt was as silent as the grave right now. Twilight sat there, at the other end of the table from Celestia, staring at her beloved mentor with her mouth hanging open. It felt like an eternity since Celestia had spoken, but no amount of passed time could make what she'd said any easier to swallow. It wasn't true, Twilight told herself. This was some sort of joke. There was no way that what Celestia had said could possibly be real. Maybe this was a dream, or even a nightmare.A mother's regret2 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
But deep down, she knew that it wasn't. No matter how much she might wish it to be untrue, she had to face reality, however terrible that reality might have become for her. Not wanting to spend the rest of the day with her mouth hanging open, Twilight finally broke the silence.
The words had been hard to get out, almost as though her mouth refused to register them. Celestia meanwhile, merely sat on the other side of the table and quietly nodded. She said nothing, merely waited for Twi

Twilight Sparkle sat at the edge of what was known as the mirror pond. An ancient and, until recently, fairy tale place that dwelt within the Everfree Forest. She herself had heard of the tales, though only in passing as a child. It was not something she'd ever given much thought to. But, her friend, Pinkie Pie, had come here herself and, through the magic of the pond, made many copies of herself. She had done it in an effort to make sure that she was able to spend time with all of her friends.
The purple unicorn could not help but chuckle to herself. As always, she was just being Pinkie Pie. Only the energetic earth pony could come into a magical place like this and casually cast a spell on herself for the simple purpose o

"Are you sure that your family wouldn't mind me staying here?" Onua asked as he and Applejack were walking back to Sweet Apple Acres.
"Ya' already met Big Macintosh and Granny Smith during brunch earlier Onua, I doubt that they'll ever hate you." The orange earth pony replied giving him a wink as the orchid came into their view.
After a few minutes they passed the gate, Onua heard barking, running toward them was a small furry four-legged Rahi, with brown and white fur wearing a red collar ran up to them yipping happily waving its tail.
"What is that strange Rahi?" Onua asked as the adorable creature stopped right in front of him and started sniffing his feet.

Princess Mi'Amore Cadenza, or Cadence as she preferred to be called, was watching the gathering crowd with great anticipation. And although her work often took other all over the principality to meet such ponies, seeing them all gather together in one place was always a rare treat.
This day was the annual dessert contest and many had pulled out all the stops this year. Treats and cakes of all shapes and sizes lined the gardens, waiting for the judges to come by and pass their verdict. She had to admit, it was an appealing sight.
Under normal circumstances she would have loved for Shining to be here today so they could both enjoy it. Unfortunately for the both of them he'd bee

Radiance's sapphire eyes bagged from lack of sleep as the sun's orange rays shone through the windows and cracks of the Apple family barn. Rest had eluded her all night thanks to the mix of pain from her broken leg and the vivid activity in her spinning mind. As she watched Bismarck's orange chest rise and sink slightly with quiet breaths, she continued to wonder to herself if this was all just a bad dream. So much had been happening to her that she felt like she couldn't even begin to cope. Within a day, she had gone back in time, broken her leg, gotten caught in a violent storm, possibly lost two of her best friends to that storm, and now the one who wouldn't turn back to find them was sleeping across from her. Pure anger burned inside her at the thought of Bismarck leaving Berry and Cherry to die. Everything in her wished she could stop him.
"How could you?" she asked aloud, knowing he couldn't hear

Zecora's eyes snapped awake and her body jerked from the sound of twigs snapping outside of her house, nearly making her fall out of bed. Twilight and her friends visited often but she was not expecting visitors at sunrise. Whatever was outside was either trying to break in or was in need of help. Getting up, the zebra made her way to the door slowly, ready for any intruder who may cross her path. Anything could be in the Everfree Forest and she was too smart to take chances. Listening carefully, she could hear voices outside.
"Yes, Flora, I think we are in the past." a voice whispered in mid-conversation. "Whatever my brother did, it caused a chain reaction that sent us all through time."
"But how far back?" a small squeaky voice asked. That one must have been "Flora."
"Look at the decorations around the hut. My mom said she donated some of these masks to a museum because they were significant artifacts.

Chapter 5: A Day at the Spa
Lowering herself slowly into the steaming hot tub, Fluttershy let out a long, content sigh while she sank into complete relaxation. Once she had adjusted to the rapid temperature change, she could feel every muscle in her body loosen while she closed her eyes and laid her head back. She needed a day where she could just unwind without having to worry about picking up the kids from school or anything else, and the spa was just what the doctor ordered.
“This feels more amazing every time I come here,” she told Rarity, who sat across from her. “I didn’t even realize I was this tense.”
“You never can,” Rarity replied. “It’s just the stresses of life, I suppose. Sometimes you get so busy in the chaos of the day that you forget how much pressure you’re building up inside. That’s what the spa is for!”
Fluttershy could easily agree on that. Even though it was hard to believe that they had

She raised her head and looked out on the brilliantly orange sun touching the horizon before her. She sighed and closed her eyes. Her horn began to glow it's usual yellow as the glowing orb moved further down. A few minutes passed and soon enough, there was darkness across the land. Celestia opened her eyes and looked up at the sky. Darkness but no moon. No stars. She hated seeing the sky like this. Her sister always made it so beautiful. But before she could work the night sky, it always looked so lifeless to her, so dead. A sentiment Luna herself shared.

Chapter 16: I know whose tears would come down to me (First draft. Final version in the works)
Rain poured mercilessly in the deafening wind while three young foals slept inside the small chicken coop. The storm's might was ferocious, its malice unforgiving as even the rising sun itself seemed to hide out of fear of the great power of nature and shone only scarcely through the dismal blanket of the intimidating clouds. The heavy gales rattled the miniature house violently while the great boom of thunder shook the sleeping children to the bone. Inside their rickety shelter, Orion and Bucky slept side-by-side, huddled together to keep warm, their crusader capes shielding them from the cold. Their minds were blank, deep within the sleep they needed so badly. Time travel seemed to affect the very life force of all three of the Crusaders as they each found themselves too exhausted to even notice the rampage of the storm. Bucky's eyesight remained blurry as he looked around, desperately hoping to find something or somepony who could help him. He was in a room of some sort, but felt too nauseous to tell whose it was. His chest heaved with difficulty with each gasp of air becoming more shallow than the last while something clung tightly on his throat. His hoof grasped his neck to feel his Cutie Mark Crusader's cape. He had forgotten that he had put it on, but now it was choking him. Grasping at the knot, he tore it off, flooding oxygen into his lungs. He coughed loudly and painfully, gasping for a while before he sunk his head back to the cold floor. Taking the moment to catch his breath, his green eyes darted around, searching his surroundings. He was inside a small warm bedroom, not the cool basement where he once was. Stuffed animals surrounded him from all sides, their glass eyes watching his every move and motion an
